Very nice restaurant. The three of us shared the zucchini chips appetizer. Mains were cioppino, chicken saltimbocco, and chicken risotto. All were terrific. We shared a great bottle of Villa Antinori. Excellent meal and service!
Great food great service.
Went after theatre at Memorial Auditorium
Lucca has been a great restaurant for many years, and it seems to get better with age. Many of the dishes are great and all are good.
Amazing short ribs!
Great place with very easy access to parking, close to theater, etc!!
Before the play, we appreciate the discount
We had matinee tickets to the Broadway Sacramento production of “A Bronx Tale - The Musical” at the Municipal Auditorium across the street from Lucca Restaurant. We love to come to Lucca, and today’s experience was great, as we have come to expect. The restaurant was busy but the service was great as was the food. Open Table made it easy to make a reservation.
Great food
Fantastic waitress
Will come back for sure
We went before a play and in defense of the restaurant, they were packed. We told them we had the play, but the kitchen took a long time to get the entree out so it was quite a rush. The waiter was apologetic and quick to bring the check and wrap up the meal. The food was delicious and we will go back when we are not in a rush, but the kitchen really wasn’t prepared to handle a quick turnaround so we would think twice about going again before an event.
Great food and atmosphere
One in our party ordered the rib eye steak and it was very fatty and not very good
Enjoyed our happy hour and Pre Broadway theatre 🎭 show dinner. Lucca is an enjoyable, yummy place to choose as it is almost across the street from the Theatre. Recommend!
Excellent service by Alexis Food was delicious. He recommended the ssparagus and halloumi cheese appetizer, unique and tasty.
I had a terrific swordfish, cooked perfectly served on a caulifower creme, yum. My husband enjoyed a cioppino with plump seafood and a bright broth with carrots. Desserts, my husband had the carmelized bananas, rich but not to sweet. I had the profiteroles which was enough for 3 people.
Service got us out in plenty of time to see show at Memorial Auditorium.
We love this restaurant! The food is just perfect everytime, no matter what we order.
We were seated outside even though we didn't request that on our reservation. It was a bit chilly and they didn't turn on space heaters until later.
Perfect place to eat prior to attending Broadway On Tour or the Music Circus. 10% discount. Super service.
Disappointing. Chose Luca because of Valet parking and proximity to plays. Valet had no spaces--found out after waiting 10 minutes in line. When we places our order for lunch the special had been sold out. It was only 12:20. Service was slow which turned out to be OK because we had allotted time. But we had to pay much more for parking and did not get what we wanted to order. We won't be back.
This was a Broadway play day so very busy.....valet parking is a real challenge. Nice guys but delays and lack of spots was challenging.
Did not enjoy the flavor of the spaghetti and meat balls with the added rags. Definitely a different flavor.
Zucchini chips were more greasy than previously. Salads were very good. Still looking for a Go To menu item for evenings before shows.
Love this place. Limited menu but all delicious. Service wonderful!!
Appetizers were great. Try Fried Cruciferous Veggies! We had Chicken Saltimbocca and Stuffed Sweet Peppers. All were very good.
Always my favorite place to eat.
Ian was very helpful in creating a special birthday menu for my daughter. Sam was their server. He was polite & attentive. I appreciate the team’s willingness to work with me to make her dinner party a success!
A good overall experience with. Good food and service. Minor hiccups. Loud and large party nearby made conversation difficult. A solid but not exceptional experience.
We loved the patio, beautiful and comfortable
Happy Hour all day Thursday with great options.
Food was very good and the drinks were excellent.
Our sever provided excellent service and I highly recommend Lucca any day.
Always a joy!!
Very nice atmosphere in a good location. Service was excellent. The food was great. The noise level was moderate but not inconveniently so. We will definitely return.
Excellent service. The food was very good. We have no complaints and had a great dining experience.
Got recommended by 2 people who obviously don’t have good flavor palettes. Food was mediocre for the price. Appetizers were overpriced for some French fries and some cheese on top. Service wasn’t that attentive for being moderately slow.
We really enjoyed our early dinner, before a concert, at Lucca. The ambiance and service at the bar were terrific! I also highly recommend the Parmesan Frites, nice and crispy!
We had the pasta with salmon lemon cream sauce. Delicious. Tried the grain salad and a salad on the special menu. Both salads were excellent. We had a chocolate orange tart for dessert. Good to the last bite. Will definitely go back.
Great food and excellent service. The noise level is a bit loud.
We were going to the sac speaker series lecture, the place was packed so it took a little longer to get our food. Our server kept us informed the whole way and made sure we got out on time. Excellent food amazing service a little on the noisy side.
Always always alway great service and great food; and good martinis!
The Pappardelle dish was excellent - mushrooms and sausage with fantastic wine/butter sauce. My wife really enjoyed the chicken breast sandwich. Two take home cartons in a bag and more to enjoy later.
First time we were there and we were extremely pleased with the food and service. Definitely a place we will return to again.
We had an excellent server, but I thought the food choices were too minimal and many were heavily spiced. The butternut/apple soup was good. The mixed veggies appetizer was very spicy for the average pallet. The other dishes were okay but they substituted home made noodles for the gnocchi. For four people the lunch bill was $100 which includes one beer and one mixed drink. Comparing this venue for ambiance and food with Biba’s—it’s no contest for me: Biba’s falls in the excellent category and Lucca falls short of hitting the exceptional mark.
Seated outside in throws area when there was plenty of seating for a party of two inside. Sat right next to the tarp w a chilled breeze. Service was fair but a bit slow given the number of patrons. Swordfish was very good as was salmon but portions were a bit light given the price.
