There are far fewer Indian restaurants, as opposed to takeaways, local to us. Sometimes you just would rather eat out. We gave Spice Island a try and it did not disappoint: the Onion Bhajis were crisp, spicy and light and, speaking of light, the Nan Bread was amongst the lightest we have ever known - delightful! The Dansak was spicy yet still had that essential sweetness while my personal 'acid test', the Chicken Vindaloo was hot but not mental, the chicken nicely cooked and the potatoes not over-present - up there with the best. Service was good but not obsequious and the decor rather smart. We reckon to go to Spice Island at least once-a-month from now on. MoreOpenTable Diner -
