Step inside Bud & Marilyn’s retro eatery. The nostalgia-inspired aesthetics pave the way for the establishment’s focus on American classic cuisine. Comfort food at its finest, owners Bud and Marilyn tap into Philadelphia’s Americana vibe. Dishes like bread pudding, fried chicken, and braised short ribs make diners proud to be an American.

Great Philadelphia restaurant choice. Our server Emma was delightful, and the French Onion Meatloaf and the Agnolotti were both delicious. My martini and my guest’s Old Fashion were also good. The restaurant is quite loud, so probably not recommended for a quiet dinner. Would absolutely go back!

Rittenhouse Square

The Love is a staple restaurant in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. The small, yet refined eatery specializes in brunch and dinner dishes. Menu items include shrimp & grits, cinnamon waffles, lemon poppy pancakes, and fried catfish — the diversity makes it one of the top 10 brunch destinations in Philadelphia. Another popular item with The Love is its inventive dessert menu, which features treats like olive oil cake, warm graham madeleines, and a blondie sundae with pumpkin ice cream called the Pumpkin Head.

Just a few blocks from the historic Declaration House, diners come across Morimoto. This omakase- and Japanese-style restaurant created by an Iron Chef offers a one-of-a-kind environment. From the sleek style of the tables to the color-changing light display, there is no shortage of interesting aesthetics here. But, this environment comes in second place when compared to the food. Of the trending restaurants in Philadelphia, Morimoto steals the show with unbelievable Hamachi pastrami and Yosedofu fresh tofu.

I had the Omakase 9 course meal. Each dish was unique and staff explained in detail. Staff was beyond courteous and helpful. Constantly asked how I liked a dish so they could improve if needed. Ambiance and decor was top tier. I really enjoyed it. Dessert was pretty but I didn’t like the matcha. Server really wanted to bring something else but I was stuffed and satisfied.

A modern bi-level restaurant with a rooftop deck in Rittenhouse Square, Continental Midtown is the go-to place for martinis and tapas-style dishes. Favorite dishes of locals include Szechaun Shoestrings, poached eggs with polenta, and hash fries. The best item on the menu? Without a doubt, the drinks during happy hour.

If you’re going to advertise happy hour, especially during SIPS, you need to be more specific on the site. As a working woman in her 30s, I want to be able to sit and enjoy happy hour vs fighting frat boys for the bartenders attention. I didn’t know I’d have to stand at the bar to enjoy the deals, it’s not worth it at that point. Other than that, Continental Midtown is delicious as always!

The trendiest Asian fusion restaurant in Philadelphia, Buddakan offers a mix of classic and inventive dishes. Only minutes from the Liberty Bell, Buddakan has an environment unlike any other in the city. Diners are greeted and accompanied by a giant Buddha statue in the main dining area, while techno music echoes throughout the eatery. Despite this unexpected combination, the restaurant exudes modern sophistication in terms of both design and cuisine. Here, diners rave about the inventive menu, which features dishes like tuna pizza, tea-smoked spare ribs, Kobe beef satay, and grilled lamb chops.

Good was excellent - generous portions and HOT as it should be. Steam was rising from the fried rice! If I had one complaint it would be the noise level. The restaurant is beautifully decorated but tables are close and you have to shout to be heard.

We had an incredible meal at Amada. We did the chef's tasting menu. Everything we had was artfully presented, well seasoned, and tasted amazing. It as SO much food! I love doing tasting menu's because it pushes me to try things I might not normally order. The cocktails were equally as delicious. To cap everything off, the service was impeccable. I dont recall our servers name, however, he had spectacular blue eyes. We will definitely be back

The restaurant is so fun with lots of color ... reminds one of being in Positano wouldn't cha' know?! :-) The food was really good. Our service was excellent. The only bummer was that they sat a couple right next to us when the restaurant was almost empty (we were the first ones there). I don't know why they would do that. Maddenly, the man kept answering his phone and talking so loudly that we finally moved. All the food was very good ... just too much salt on the artichoke salad. We would go back next time in Philly though.
