When staying in a high-end hotel, diners expect a certain level of quality from the in-house restaurants. JW in the Marriot Hotel at Grosvenor House definitely delivers this. The stately interior is warm in wood tones with huge chalkboards explaining the menu, while the outdoor terrace allows views right across into Hyde Park. Thanks to the patio heaters, diners can enjoy the view even when the weather is cooler. The food and ambience were wonderful. Our service was excellent.

That’s according to diners at High Timber, a riverside restaurant filled with artwork from the country of inspiration. Didn’t try loads of sides, just stuck to the surf & turf and steak — both cooked really well. Service was solid throughout, especially from Daniel who was genuinely friendly. Great spot for Kate’s birthday. Would go back.

Look up to see the quirky patterned ceiling, then sit in one of the curved green booths or long red benches and enjoy some great service. Kids are welcome, with the Tilly’s Treats menu, crafted by Matilda Ramsay herself, going down a storm. The rib burger here is a favorite that keeps diners coming back again and again.

First, I have to say the service was impeccable…Abdul and Khalid were awesome…from advice on the menu and nearby activities, to taking photos of our group…as a tourist Gordon Ramsay is a familiar brand, and it didn’t disappoint…while we all enjoyed our meals, pork chop, steaks, fish and ribs…the fries were the bomb!!! Went years ago when it was Maze and this is just as awesome!!!!

The pre-theatre menu offered good value however the quality of the food and the full experience was not a good as it could have been and was not comparable to other well known steaks chains. Unfortunately the drinks pricing also felt excessive and overall I am not sure I would book again.

This was our first experience of Hard Rock Cafe. The staff were super polite and helpful, explaining how things worked and introducing us to the restaurant. Our order was taken quick and arrived without delay. The food was excellent, particularly the Ramen noodles with salmon. It was a great experience and the prices were about right. Really enjoyed it and will be returning next month.

The décor is bright and pleasant, bringing to mind the themes of a traditional English cottage. The butcher’s shop sells grass-fed meat, which is also utilized in their carefully crafted menu. The burgers here include a 45-day dry aged beef affair, served with beetroot relish and optional beer and treacle bacon. Or the veggie option with portobello mushroom and black beans, which diners call excellent.

There were a number of steak offerings priced by the weight.
