Fabulous experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was superb and the food was top-notch. Highly recommend a visit!
A regular steakhouse. Nothing impressed her.
The service and the food were over the top! I don't think anything could have been better. We really enjoyed our visit.
Where to start.....while the food was ok to good, the Service from our Waiter was non existent. We lost count of the number of times we had to ask one of the bus boys to get our waiter. When he (the waiter) did show up, it was purely transactional. Took order (in fact would start to walk away before we completed our order) and left.
Not recommended. We will never return here.
We are always happy with the food and service. The food was prepared perfectly. The service as usual was excellent.
This was our second time coming in a 2 week period. Outdoor seating was great, service was OK- they seemed to be a little short handed but everyone was pleasant. The food was great. Aged porterhouse had great flavor and tenderness (I would have preferred some char but my wife was very happy the way it was served). Caesar salad was great, creamed spinach was on point and steak fries were tasty. Add on lobster tail was perfect and apple pie for desert was very good.
The restaurant was out of most of the small bottles of wine, I assume due to supply chain issues.
Best Steak Restaurant in the area.
Thank you very much for the review. We hope to serve you again soon!
Good food, great service & comfortable environment. A really nice experience. Will definitely return.
We ate mostly small plates and a salad with grilled salmon added. Everything was delicious! The portions were generous and easy to share.
And our server/bartender made delicious Espresso Martinis and the service was excellent!
Such a wonderful experience, by far the best service and food we have had since moving to the desert. Wonderful place to enjoy an awesome birthday dinner.
Happy Birthday and thank you!
All staff were excellent, from the front door through service and management. Our steaks were delicious and the sides great!
Wonderful! Thank you.
My Husband has determined this is his favorite restaurant!
Great! Look forward to seeing you again soon :)
A wonderful evening. Food and service was excellent! A great way to end 2021.
Food was excellent. Our server Brian was great. He was attentive and did not make us feel rushed. We will be back.
I lost a bet and the loser had to buy dinner and drinks at a place of the winners chosing. LGs in PS was an excellent place to meet in the middle since both parties lived in opposite directions.
The restaurant was nice as expected. The onion rings were great! The sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes were a treat as well. The jewel in the crown was ok but my wife’s rib-eye was excellent. The staff were on point with their service.
Was craving a steak and went with LG based on online reviews.
Pleasant décor; appropriate for the price point, highlighted by service staff in formal black / white attire (ties but no jackets) in the true fine dining tradition.
Not a single thing after that was positive, however.
Service? Polite and competent, but woefully inattentive. Asked multiple times for my water glass to be filled, I had to stack finished plates on the edge of the table to get them removed, my steak was served on a small side dish, leaving no room for actual sides. I asked for cracked pepper, but only received after my meal cooled. We were forced to box our own leftovers. And there was the attempt to serve us someone else’s soup order…
Food? My Caesar Salad was made of browning chopped lettuce, the Mac and Cheese tasted as though it came out of a box, my wife stated that her crab cakes were beyond bland. My father-in-law seems to enjoy his French Onion Soup though, and I found the Grilled Asparagus up to par for the price point.
The steaks were utterly completely flavorless. Not tough, not chewy, but absolutely devoid of flavor. They tasted like they had been boiled, then tossed on the grill to make grill marks. No amount of salt or pepper helped. My father-in-law ultimately complained long and loud enough that his was removed from the bill, because his in addition to being flavorless, had excessive gristle.
The tab for this deeply disappointing dining experience? $320, with tax and tip. For two steaks (one was comped), 5 drinks, 2 salads, one soup, two sides.
At those sorts of prices, I am supposed to ENJOY my meal, not just satiate my hunger. It is supposed to be a DINING EXPERIENCE.
Well, I guess it was in fact a “dining experience” – just not an enjoyable one. Frankly, I feel ripped off.
I posted a more extensive review to "Trip Advisor", and from there reached out to the management. We shall see if anything comes of it.
Excellent service! Everyone was very polite. Our waiter Bryan, was very pleasant and attentive. The manager was very personable. Our food was delicious! We had a great experience. We will definitely return upon our next visit to Palm Springs.
Oyster wasn't good at all. Steak (T-bone) was ok, and it was overcooked.
This was our first visit to LG's. We have visited Palm Springs many times over the years eating at many different restaurants. We were extremely pleased that they rank at the top of our experience with other steak house restaurants in the Palm Springs area. The indoor dining was pristine and the seating spaced enough to feel feel to talk without the conversation carrying to others near by. The waiters were outstanding, and catered to our request to wrap and prepare the remaining of a very large meal to take home. I had the ribeye and my wife ordered the prime rib, both cooked medium well. The steaks were delicious, large and cooked to perfection. The only down side to the visit was that of the lighting. The lighting is great for eating a meal, but not the best for older folks to read the menu. I would not change the lighting, but maybe dim the lights after the minutes have been collected. The current lighting is very romantic and a charming touch for couples.
We were there to celebrate Christmas with family. Food was fantastic and the service was fast and friendly. A waiter that paid attention to our table.
We visited LG's for the first time at Christmas this year. Our experience began okay, with being seated right away, our server didn't come and greet us for about 10 min. Our server checked in to see if we had any questions about the menu or if we wanted to do some tequila shots, we said we didn't and put in our order right away. I was impressed by how fast our salads arrived. Then service took a turn, simple things like our waters or my wife's soda not being refreshed after trying to get someone's attention numerous times.
Our 20-minute wait for the main course turned into 35 minutes when our server came and asked us where our main course was? Huh? He apologized and disappeared saying he was sorry and it should be a few minutes. After another 15 minutes (45+ minutes total) our food arrived. When our dinner arrived, my steak was on too small a plate and hung over the sides, the Oscar sauce runny, lump crab still frozen in spots, and asparagus on the top of it all - what a mess! Two of our sides arrived 5 min later. In his defense, our server offered to buy us dessert, which we kindly declined because it wasn't the reason we were there.
You'd think in the age of covid and how it has changed, not forgetting what the lockdowns have done crippling small businesses that independent restauranteurs like this would have tightened up issues like this. Not so with LG's. I guess when you've been in business that long, with regulars like the guy next to us having a loud cell phone call on speaker or other folks around us who seemed to have visited LG's before.
In contrast on Christmas Eve, we had outstanding service at the Kaiser Grill in Plam Desert where the food was great which we use as the standard we expect in the area. Doubtful we'll ever be back to LG's where it seems old school isn't to awesome.
It was a wonderful experience. We have spent our winters here for 10 years and is the first time for LG's. The booth seating was very comfortable and just the right size for 3. Our steaks were perfect and the Smoked Gouda Potatoes Au Gratin was outstanding. The waiters knew the food and wine menus very well and helped with selections. We will come again. Thank you.
Come for steak and cocktails. Try to ignore the
Mixed martial arts bloody fighting on the many televisions. Very strange choice of dining accompaniment.
Wife and I had a very nice dinner. Filet’s were excellent. Jose provided timely, friendly service!
Food and service was excellent.
Just great! Well cooked and nicely served food in a funk-o-Rama locale.
It was Perfect!!!
Great location and food was excellent. Sit on the patio with the fire burning.
This is the place for Prime Rib in the Desert…Do delicious, we keep coming back.
Another great experience! Steaks were cooked to perfection. Service awesome. Our fav spot for dinner!!
Food and ambiance was great. Brian was outstanding. He really took care of us.
Excellent service and amazing food!
We were in town for one night and tried this place. From the minute we walked in the door it was a fabulous experience. We sat outside which was a great choice. Our server Brian was wonderful. Friendly, helpful, fast service but never felt rushed. He always checked to make sure we were fine. The food was amazing. Crab cakes, filet, rib eye, lobster. All wonderful!! And the bread too. We were still talking about how great it was the next morning. If ever back in town we would make sure to go there again
Nice night out
Best steaks and setting. Service was a little slow but ok. Others were served before us even tho we sat first.
One if the most disappointing evenings at this restaurant. 3 times they brought out a fillet mignon which was undercooked twice and overcooked once. I finally gave up and ordered the prime rib which was fine. They were very busy that evening but it was hardly an excuse for what occurred. The manager was apologetic but appeared unable to explain why they were unable to cook a medium fillet.
Great service from the moment we walked through the door. Fantastic food and ambience. Best steak we have had in years!! Appetizers - Crab cakes were delicious and the prawn cocktail was huge! Looking forward to returning soon.
We had a great time .. food was amazing
Excellent Service! Delicious Food! Will definitely be back to bring family to enjoy as well
The food was so very good, we loved sitting at the fire pit table. Excellent service. Our server was Brian
