Level Small Plates Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful time at Level! We tried something from each part of the menu. Our absolute favorites were the short rib with carrot puree and the banana bread pudding! We enjoyed all of our food. We did wish the charcuterie had some crackers or a harder bread, but that may be our preference. We would recommend it!
We have to give this restaurant a mixed review. The bartenders and the drinks were fabulous and we loved the drink special on New Year's Eve. The food was mostly cold which is why we are giving such a low rating. We made our reservation well in advance, when many times were available on opentable and yet we were given the least desirable table after WATCHING other diners decline the table for 40 minutes. In our opinion, the hostess showed NO customer service and interpersonal skills at the most basic level. We felt disrespected and as though we were an inconvenience. We may try this restaurant one more time, but if the service is this poor again, we won't be back.
Good food! Small plates so need to share to really get the full experience. Wait staff needs some help though. Not very friendly and way to busy to support the small staff. Nice cocktails but really need to get a wine list that complements the variety of food they offer. The worst part of the expire Nice is the notice level..... not enjoyable for dining..... way to LOUD
We enjoyed our first visit to Level. The drinks are amazing (try the Gimlet!). We tried several of the small plates. The pork spring tools were excellent, the roasted mushroom salad was different but very tasty, Brussels sprouts were ok, scallops and shrimp lettuce wraps were quite good. We spent just about $100 for these items and two drinks each.
We try something new for our monthly date night, and Level was the finalist this month. It was a cold and snowy night but well worth the outing. The food was delicious! We shared a 5 or so of the small tapas style plates and couldn't have been happier. The chorizo dip was delicious as were all of the other plates. We sat upstairs close to the bar area and had a fairly quiet evening. I'm assuming no one else wanted to venture out that night. The ambiance is inviting and warm with a touch of romanticism. We'll add this onto our list of places to revisit!
Four of us had a great get-together meal at Level. The small plates were generous enough to share, and crafted with loving care. Every dish we tasted was outstanding, including duck confit, which reminded me of my grandmother's duck (a true compliment) and red snapper. Service was attentive and informative, with good recommendations.
We tried this restaurant based on the very high review rating it got on open table. We were very disappointed with the meal. We totally understand the tapas style of dining and enjoy the fact that the items are small and typically a large selection of items to choose from. Although, there was a nice selection the number of items was much less than we see for this type of restaurant. However, our BIGGEST issue was that when the last 2 items arrived they were lukewarm at best and the plates were cold. We would have sent them back to the kitchen but getting a servers attention was absolutely impossible so rather than let the items get any colder we finished them off, drank our wine and went someplace else to enjoy a fantastic desert.
Went to Level for my husband's birthday and invited his parents with. They do not usually experiment with restaurants, but LOVED Level. The small plate experience was something they had never tried, but truly enjoyed it. While everything starts at $8-10/ plate, they give enough for everyone to have a small portion. There were 4 of us, which turned out to be perfect since any more would have meant ordering two plates of everything in order for everyone to try.
Also, delicious cocktails! Try the Bourbonappolis!
While I️ understood that this restaurant offers “small plates,” the portion certainly wasn’t commensurate with the prices charged. Also, the service wasn’t good. We told our server we were ready, but she walked away. Also we had to specifically call out that we needed more water and additional drinks—we were never asked, nor did she notice. The drinks were heavy on the juice/mixers. The noise level was loud. So while the food was ok, our enjoyment was diminished by the rest of the experience. Not someplace I️ would recommend to others.
This was my second time to Levels, and the first time I made a reservation. Although I made a reservation we were led upstairs to a small table in the middle of the room- while other tables in quieter spots were empty. Having gone to the effort to make a reservation and eating there once before seated in a nice spot on the first floor, I was not impressed by it. We asked to be seated elsewhere and were accommodated after a few minutes. However, the noise level was still high and the tables are too close together. The waiter barely fit between the two tables when taking orders. Secondly, I thought the prices were a bit high for what we received. One glass of wine each and 2 small tapas plates each. The bill w tip was $85.00 While I thought the food was good- the servings were really small- very tapas. I don't know that I would come back.
Second visit for us as a pre-symphony night. Everything is done well here with its small plate options. I loved that we could mix things up with seafood, meat, salad and snacks to make a well-rounded meal. The ambience and service are pleasant, albeit food comes out quickly. We were able to pace things by ordering two items and then ordering two more once we finished those. My only complaint is limited wines by the glass.
Our server David made the meal so fun - he was funny, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. The food was good, but some of the items we wanted had been shifted to a new restaurant the owners purchased apparently, so we were a little disappointed there. Overall, it was a good experience and a fun place. The cocktails were great!
Loved the food! We had so many things but the scallops were great (cooked to perfection) and the hummus was excellent. It was a little loud and sometimes drinks took a while but they were busy so we orally understandable and tables were spread out very well so I️ didn’t feel cramped like some crowded restaurants make you feel. And the service was great.
It had been a long while between visits. My initial visit the restaurant was far more "rustic" than my recent visit where I found the cool hipster crowd ambiance that the restaurant was trying to reach a little too cool for my taste. The wine selection was bland for the most part and the only thing that struck me was the price of a glass of wine. If I pay $11 I look for a hearty glass not some cutesy little serving. The small plate selections were, how should I put this? Unremarkable. They did sound yummy but isn't half the battle really? We sat upstairs and the cozy atmosphere reminded me of the Delhi airport arrival building.
