Impeccable service as always. On a scale of 1-10, the mac n cheese is about a 12, but be aware that if you are dining alone, it will serve as your entire meal. Delicious ice cream choices from local creamery complete the meal.
Some really delicious food with only a few misses for us. We had Seafood Charcuterie (everything was really delicious including pickled fennel and beet mustard. Cured salmon (?) was a bit too salty though), Fried Brussels sprouts (huge serving for a small plate-- delicious raisin vinaigrette and creme fraiche! House bacon was great but could have used more of it for the amount of sprouts), Handcut Frenchfries (again, a huge portion, but so so good), crab and avocado bruschetta, and ricotta gnocchi. The last two were just okay, seeming to lack something the other dishes had (and certainly "small plate" sized, in contrast to the larger servings of the previous dishes). For dessert, we had cookies and milk and banana bread pudding, both of which were fantastic! Our server seemed to be a bit jaded and not too interested in being friendly, but he did his job and brought us everything we asked for.
9/10 we would dine again!
Level was previously one of our favorite spots in Annapolis. We are happy to say they are back at the top of our must go to list with the new management and menu options. Highly recommend.
As usual, quality food created with imagination! Our server was his usual smiling, helpful and informative self - his comments on the selections are spot on!
Wanted someplace new for our anniversary dinner. We love tapas & Level was a perfect fit. Great service & delicious food & drinks. Only negative was the loud, drunk couple at the next table. Will most definitely be back.
Server was phenomenal. With an 8:00 reservation headed to 9:00 show she was attentive, considerate with time, and better at crowd control (keeping our party on time) than we were. Food always excellent. Also Level allowed usto bump reservation from party of 4 to party of 8 at last minute with no hassles. Kudos to Level!
This place continues to please after regular visits. The food is creative, delicious and fun to try. We love to share all the different small plates from the snacks, veggies, land and sea categories. Service is lovely, warm and comforting. The only thing that needs improvement is the wines by the glass options. It is very limited and nothing changed from the last time we were there many months ago.
Unique take on farm to table. Food was all good with interesting presentation. Our wait person was helpful and attentive. We sat upstairs and it was kind of loud. Hard to have a conversation across the table.
My husband and I thought the food was terrible and we are not picky eaters. The seafood charcuterie was unrecognizable as food. Even the bread was stale and inedible. We ordered 4 dishes, none of which we liked, and then went home to eat. The restaurant was so noisy, so this is not the place for a quiet meal. The wait staff was very polite, however. That was the only redeeming quality about the restaurant. Our waiter graciously removed the seafood dish from our bill without being asked. Still, it was expensive and to spend that amount of money on a terrible meal is disappointing. By the way, I have never left a negative review before so I'm not in the habit of bashing restaurants. I just can't understand how this place has received good reviews.
We were here on a busy Friday night. Even though the place was joyously noisy, we had pleasant conversation, service was excellent, and everything we tried from the menu was well prepared and tasty. Great date night place.
Great place for a date but got very loud and became hard to hear each other.
My boyfriend and I stopped in to grab dinner a few nights ago and had a very disappointing experience. Our server was very nice, however she was the highlight of the evening. We started with the spicy feta dip and it was alright, the pita had a very oily, unappealing layer to it. We also got the asparagus, gnocchi, and dish of the day (a white fish). The flavors on all three of those dishes were just awful— bitter, bland, and plain wrong. At over $10 a small plate, I expected powerful, exciting flavors. Instead I got some of the worst tasting food I’ve had in quite some time. We ended up going to one of our staple restaurants, Chris’ Charcoal Pit afterwards to fill up on food we knew would be delicious. I will definitely not be returning!
Food is not what it used to be. Drinks still very good.
Level is always a go to when friends come to Annapolis. It has a warm atmosphere and excellent locally sourced food. The drink specials are always delicious too...and the staff delightful
I have been to Level before but it has been over a year ago. This experience was at a whole different level (yep - stupid pun intended). The waiter we had was awesome, and told us there was a new chef. That change made a big difference. We had so much fun. He started by explaining some special beers and the specials. We ordered one of each. Our party of 6 sampled many things on the tasting menu. I am not sure I can remember all of the highlights, but the chorizo/pork special was indeed, special. So much flavor. We ended up ordering 2 servings. The chorizo dip was also yummy. The tuna was a BIG hit. The spicy chicken and the trout were super. Get a speciality cocktail too. These guys and gals know what they are doing. Loved it. You will too.
Our server brought out the incorrect sample of wine, we could hardly hear him speak, and he brought out our $100 bill broken instead of just bringing us the change as he said he would. The food was mediocre except for the duck, and it was all overpriced.
Wonderful meal. Started with the Seafood Charcuterie. Followed with the Pork chop Cacciatorie, Brussel sprouts and Tuna tartare. Very creative menu. Enjoyed a Vodka cucumber mint drink. We both loved the Vodka gimlet. It was like drinking a key lime pie. Very reasonable meal. For dessert we enjoyed the Banana Bread Pudding snd cheesecake.
The food is very good here, but the plates are by no means small. Unlike at most tapas places, two of us only ordered 4 plates and couldn't come close to finishing them. The excellent Brussels sprouts, for example, were easily enough for 6 people. If you want to be able to try a lot of dishes, take a large party or plan on taking food home.
Overall good experience. Food portions are indeed small, but very tasty. Service was also really good. The only downside, the male host was less than welcoming upon arrival...”what can I help you with?” Really? Interesting way to greet guests. But, things got much better once we were seated. Not sure we would return.
Our four small plates provided more than enough for the two of us. Stand out dish was the mixed mushroom salad. Each of the other plates had small flaws - the cauliflower was overseasoned, the duck confit was not properly defatted, and the avocado and crab scrimped mightily on the crab. That being said, it was a pleasant meal and the staff were attentive and friendly.
Wow, amazing food.... nothing else needs to be said.
Just had a great experience at Level. Food was marvelous service was personal and prompt and it was very reasonably priced. Would recommend.
4 of us dined at Level, upstairs. It was great start to finish. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Each small plate was well presented and delicious. We will go back again soon. The special cauliflower was amazing, even the two protein lovers agreed.
A perfect place for a birthday celebration. We were a group of eight and Chad made sure that a great time was had by all.
Great food - delicious Brussel Sprouts and Fries...I don’t even eat lamb but the meat balls were to die for. Scallops a little weak - a smidge “smelly” which means they were not exactly fresh...great service. Cute place...just SO LOUD. Don’t go here for a romantic date or if you need to have serious conversation!
So many great dishes from which to choose and all were easily share-able. We got the beet carpaccio, the fried Brussell sprouts, grilled butcher steak, hot chicken, and the chorizo dip. For dessert, we opted for the cookies and milk, but probably should have gone with the fresh peach bread pudding, instead. The rose and pinot noir by the glass was also really nice. Our waiter was terrific, too. Very attentive, but not annoying. We were seated upstairs, where there's another full bar, so a good vibe can be found on both floors. This was a great place to eat before the show at Ram's Head, just an easy walk up West Street.
Fantastic place....if you are ever in the area, you MUST go....order the level vodka gimlet-refreshing and delish. The tuna tartare was AMAZING
We have been to Levels for holiday parties and it was wonderful. This time we brought guests from out of town and wanted something special and edgy for them to experience in our beautiful town. They got History plus edgy! Loved the salad, the pork ribs, the french fries, brussel sprouts, trout and grits and more but....can't remember it all! It was a fun time and every one enjoyed themselves. We will go back many times. Staff was very courteous!
Wonderfully accommodating to our dietary requirements! Delicious!
Great food as always! Love the local and seasonal selections. The main reason to go though are the amazing creative cocktails! I’m mainly a beer drinker but have yet to find a cocktail there that I don’t enjoy.
The food was tasty and filling and a decent value - excellent beet salad, mushroom salad, fried Brussel sprouts. Biggest disappointment was the pork ribs. Drinks (wine/beer) seemed even more overpriced than usual. BUT...it was so noisy in there I thought my eardrums were going to rupture and blood spill out. When we arrived, it was pretty noisy, but it kept getting worse. After a group of 12-14 women (obviously a pre-wedding function) arrived, it became deafening. I know this isn't something the place can readily control, but I could never recommend a restaurant that was as noisy as a concert venue. We paid our check and left as soon as possible.
Really great all around. The Level Gimlet was good on a hot summer day. Food was tapas style with lots of fun choices. You can’t miss on the menu.
The food and service are always impeccable! My friends and I love going here for our ladies night get togethers. 😁
Great replacing evening with very good food and drinks.
Excellent meal at level! The gimlet was probably the best I’ve had. We got tune - excellent. Pesto and pasta SO good and pork which was melt in your mouth good. The seafood board was just ok - not my style. We really enjoyed this place !
Stephanie was an excellent server and provided wonderful recommendations. Both the food and drink are creative and delicious! What a great restaurant!
We really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. A bit pricy but that’s Annapolis for ya. We had dinner before concert at Rams Head and it was perfect with convenient parking behind the restaurant and within walking distance to the concert. I would go again to try more of the creative, delicious food and handcrafted cocktails!
As usual, the food and service were amazing. Loved the new seafood charcuterie board. Dined upstairs and it’s much quieter than downstairs.
My husband and I enjoyed our first meal here. Our waiter encouraged us to order our meal one plate at a time which worked well as we were unsure about the portion sizes. Everything came out hot, delicious and beautifully presented. We will definitely go back when visiting Annapolis.
I love going to level, it’s one of my favourite restaurants in Annapolis and it’s always my go-to when there’s a special occasion that I want to keep low key and casual. All the food we had tonight was great, the dishes were interesting, the flavours were rich and it was overall a great experience. My only issue is that it is really hard to hear in there usually. Tonight was a Thursday night, so it was more lax and there were less people, but when it’s poppin’ it’s a jungle. It’s a little overwhelming at times, but even if busy isn’t your thing, the food is well worth the venture. Another great experience at this restaurant.
