Have been wanting to go here for a while. Happy hour was great- the margarita and rose and mezcal were awesome! We tried a number of different food items- calamari, carnitas tacos, flank steak, the yuca bread and the elote with crab dip. Calamari was my favorite- perfectly cooked and both sauces were really tasty. Carnitas- my husbands and it was good- great flavor. I didn’t think the corn was the right vehicle for the crab dip- maybe a plantain would be better. The dip by itself was good. I liked the yuca bread as well. Would definitely go back for happy hour!
The food here is amazing. Complex and interesting dishes. Everything we ordered was good. The staff is gracious and helpful.

We went to celebrate our friends’ engagement and our waitress brought out complimentary champagne! Our waitress was so helpful and knowledgeable in guiding us what to order. Everything was delicious! For 6 people, we ordered the small Mixto, pan de yuca, pollo asado, ceviche, and camarones fritos
This place never disappoints. Only sad they don’t do brunch anymore!
The food wasn’t good. Our server was nice and fun, for our order right and somehow memorized our names (6 of us). We went for restaurant week. I haven’t been to restaurant week in a couple years because the food hasn’t been great. They mass order food and probably don’t make a profit. It’s busy and probably stressful for staff. Anyway it wasn’t good and I was hoping it would be because I remember really liking Leña.
We ordered the pan de yuca, a previous favorite. They were stale and cold.
The half chicken main was dry and overcooked.
The cauliflower main was literally 2 pieces of cauliflower. It was delicious but I was expecting like half a cauliflower for it being a main dish.
Empanadas were too flakey? Can you imagine... it was like butter wrapped in too little filling.
Appetizers were just weird. Like a slab of cheese that I can only describe as steak-like. A massive cheese curdle griddled for a slight char. Salad was literally a wedge of Romain with light dressing, so the inner leaves were just leaves.
My critique to restaurants is - do restaurant week right or don’t do it at all. If you can’t make a delicious 2-3 course meal for 35$ then don’t do it. I’ll never go back and it saddens me because I previously dreamed of those pan de yuca.
Food was fantastic. Must try the empanadas! Good service as always.
Went to Leña for restaurant week and I cannot wait to go back again! From the service to the food, it was all spectacular!
If I could give negative stars on service I would. A negative 5 stars. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks, and shame on us for not leaving at that point. After 2.5 hours our bill was delivered to the table, but not our dessert.
This was during restaurant week, but if you are offering a 4 course meal then you should have the staff to support it. And they should not give you the bill before you have all of the courses being offered.
We try to support local restaurants both during restaurant week and beyond, but this is not one I'll be going to again.

We went to Lena on both Valentines and during Restaurant Week. The experience was similar both nights- incredible flavor profiles, so-so service. On the positive, the meats were prepared to perfections, very savory. The yucca bread rolls are amazing for anyone GF who wants an amazing treat. The spicy margarita was also a hit for the whole table. On the negative, the hostess was not friendly both nights, and our server did not check up nearly enough. There were plenty of opportunities for additional drinks that went unnoticed at both visits. After a long wait, the main course also came out 10 minutes apart between individuals, and we had the same entree. The waitress did not acknowledge the frustration, but seemed apathetic all together.
It was the first night of restaurant week and it was just not the typical service I am use to at Lena. We waited for well over 5 minutes for a host to even come up and speak with us at the door. Once seated our amazing server wasn’t notified that we were actually seated so we waited another 5 minutes to be asked about our drink selection. She did comp our first drinks for the delay. The next rounds, even though the restaurant was slowing down and clearing out took a long time to come. The experience with the server was great and the food was just ok compared to other visits I have had here. I am definitely going back outside of restaurant week to make sure that is all that was throwing the experience off.

As always great food. I wasn’t thrilled with the fact that the regular menu wasn’t available because of Restaurant Week but the staff made sure to accommodate, leaving me completely satisfied. Drew is one of the best bartenders in Denver. Thanks Leña, great job!
We dined on a Saturday night. We were sat timely, had good food and service! We had the chicken empanada, shrimp/chorizo dish and hanger steak. We also liked the margaritas.
Read the reviews online and decided to have dinner on a Saturday -- and weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and the server had good recommendations. Despite being a very busy Saturday, service was very good, quick and not too intrusive (appreciated). Highly recommend Lena if you are into Latin/South American food...we'll be back and looking forward to it.
Amazing food... cozy environment... great service. The entire menu is fantastic! This trip had my girlfriend and I sharing a bottle of wine (Pyros Malbec 2015) - highly recommended, duck confit, shaved Brussels sprouts, half chicken (absolutely the best), flank steak. Everything was excellent, highly recommend this place!
went for Valentine's Day and we really enjoyed our time. the Ceviche de Pulpo and the fried calamari were both our favorite and we're so delicious. service was great, they were definitely busy but on 2/14 i still really appreciated our experience and would recommend anyone to check it out.

Worst service I’ve had in denver. Ignored for 20 minutes after we were seated, food came out at awkward times, server took my drink before I was finished. The food was delicious, but there are other good places with far better service.
I always love coming here. So many food choices to share.

This was our first time at Lena and we were pleasantly surprised. We tried several different dishes including the mussels, flank steak and Queijo Coalho (grilled cheese) and would recommend everything we tried. The mussels were especially interesting and good with the combination of pomegranate and Serrano peppers in the relish sitting on top of the perfectly prepared mussels. The grilled cheese was like nothing I have ever had but would certainly order again. Service was top notch. Lena also offers flights of
Tequila and Mezcal. I tried the Del Maguey Mezcal flight - three different representations of Mezcal, each distinctly different. It was well worth the price. We will go back!
Lena has been on it's game lately, and the hangar steak we had Friday night was fantastic - some of the best red meat we've had in a while (and for just 18 bucks). Great happy hour or date night spot.
Lena has been a favorite, despite it's getting pretty noisy when full. Our last visit was a bit of a disappointment. Still quite good, but we missed the mole, which has been a favorite in the past, but had "rotated" off the menu. Drinks were slow to arrive, so that our small plate order arrived before them. One of our 3 dishes was exceptionally good, but the other two, though quite tasty were over-salted. We were told that their long term chef had left 6 months ago. We felt that the new chef may not have his/her game quite up to the level we've enjoyed in the past.

We loved everything about this place except the food. The service was excellent, ambience was romantic and cool, drinks were awesome. The food was all so unbearably salty that we really couldn’t finish any of it. Except the Brussel sprouts.
Food is incredibly fresh and has consistently been good. The staff is fun and very responsive. This place is a gem. Don't leave without trying everything on the menu, but especially the chicken.

My boyfriend and I had the best time / service at Lena! They treated us so well and the food was amazing! Sophia was the best waitress!! So sweet and very knowledgeable.
This was our second visit and the first for our friends. From Start to finish, you couldn't have asked for better experience. The server suggested sharing plates and recommended portions to order. The tacos and Cubanos were my favorite. The place was so happy and festive with laughter and music all about.

Outstanding food and service, we’re so kind to get us in late and to put up with some of the ladies who were light weights. Had several dishes and all were excellent. Our server was accommodating and had the nicest personality, I wanted her to join our crew!
The waitress, the atmosphere and the food was all superb! My family and I had the best time!
