The food is always fantastic! We love the escargot & the salad greens are always fresh.
My boyfriend had the filet and it really was the best one anywhere & you have a choice of sauces.
I had the duck which I love.
Everything they make is reliably delicious the vegetables al dente and the wait staff was attentive.
For a wonderful dining experience they don't over price. Always a great experience. It's family owned
and some of staff have been there forever which says a lot? They also have a french bakery next door.
Great breads and pastries.
Our server was very knowledgeable about paring the wine with our meal. She was excellent.
We have been to La Voltaire several times and always been impressed with the service and the food. However tonight the food was just not up to its normal excellence. My wife actually had to send her dish back as it was tremendously over-cooked and what was advertised as crab risotto didn't seem to have even an essence of crab included in it. My quail, which was the plate du hour, was also very overcooked and underwhelming.
We found out later that the restaurant was hosting a party for the chef's wife and perhaps there was too much concentration on the party and not enough on the other paying guests. The main portion of the restaurant was also packed in addition to the backroom being packed with the aforementioned party. Sadly what should probably have happened is the chef and his wife should have closed the restaurant to concentrate on just the party rather than trying to split their attention between the guests in the main dining room and the very busy back room party.
We were very displeased with how the food was cooked and presented. The only thing that saved the night was the phenomenal service even though the main room was very busy. The server promptly brought my wife's plate back to the kitchen and returned with a recooked meal. However this offering included far-less risotto, which still lacked any crab, and far less vegetables on the plate.
I made reservations for my boyfriend and I for his birthday. All the food was to die for! Especially make sure to save room for dessert and espresso. Wish I could eat here every day!
Amazing food and amazing service
The steaks were over cooked
Very polite wait staff, nice wine list, excellent food.
Great service, authentic French food, and nicely appointed. I highly recommend it.
We are never disappointed by the wonderful service, delicious food, and tasty wine!
This is my favorite restaurant! Food and service cannot be beat!
Very disappointed. My first time there, and I definitely will not go back. I ordered quiche and salad. The salad was decent, but only dressed lettuce. The quiche was undercooked. I sent it back to the kitchen and asked for them to firm up the eggs, but when it was returned it was still inedible. It was only one wait staff. We waited at least 20 minutes for our food, and then we had to remind her to bring a bread basket. All in all a very disappointing experience.
Excellent meal and service. Always a treat to have dinner here.
This is definitely our family’s favorite restaurant and absolutely love the food and service.
great food!! nice and quaint, most authentic french flavor in town so far
Always A+. The whole team are amazing but Lisa is by far our favorite. ❤️❤️❤️
lovely restaurant. great food . was like being back in France for a few hours
I always have an amazing meal ! I am never dissatisfied! The server was great and made good suggestions! Love this place!
Whenever we want a fine dining experience at a fair price, Le Voltaire is on our list. Friendly quiet atmosphere, attentive wait staff, and an impressive wine selection make Le Voltaire an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant is right next to a French Bakery which makes taking home a nice selection of breads and pastries easy!
We are longtime diners at Le Voltaire and appreciate both the food and service the restaurant offers. There is, however, a notable lack of ambiance as the tables are far too closely arranged for private conversation. Our most recent meal was a special Saturday evening dinner and our overall rating is down some from past years. Le Voltaire is now on our list of very good options in Omaha, but no longer a special place. It has become too casual in comparison with similarly priced competitors. Few gentlemen customers, for example, wear jackets. Many wear shorts and Hawaiian shirts. A modest dress code might help. Otherwise, drop the prices and call it a French diner.
The food is delicious and the servers are top notch.
Lunch, simple, well-done and high quality components.
The service was top notch! Our server was informed and there when we needed her but not bothersome. The food was tasty and the proportions were adequate. Specials with wine on Tuesday nights was a plus! Give it a try and have something you don't normally have a home.
Wonderful !! We will definitely go back !
Best French onion soup I’ve ever had. Sadly, the “best filet in Omaha” was over cooked and dry. (How can a filet be so dry??)
The waitress was no where to be found. Had to eventually flag her down when we needed to leave
There is simply no restaurant in Omaha with better service, food, and value. As always, nicely done Le Voltaire. My wife and I have been going here for 10+ years. Consistently an excellent overall experience.
For our anniversary, we wanted to try a restaurant we hadn’t been to before, something unique, so we chose Le Voltaire. Perfect choice! Our server, Nick, was very personable and attentive but not intrusive. The food and drinks were well prepared and delicious. We felt genuinely welcomed and were treated like special guests. We have found our new favorite restaurant and look forward to returning soon.
Always an enjoyable evening out with friends. Food is always well presented and the sauce on my chicken puttanesca was outstanding.
Food was not as good as it used to be. The Frites were not good
We celebrated our wedding anniversary. We requested Lisa as our server, a 4 top for plenty of room at the table, and were pleased with the results. The dinner special was outstanding, the wine pairing was superb. The only complaint we had was in regard to a couple of other tables with very LOUD patrons making themselves heard, though no fault of the restaurant.
I am running out of ways to say how absolutely great Le Voltaire is! We were there Friday, June 21, for my xxth birthday. Lisa poured a superb martinus (singular for martini) as "herself" allowed me only one. As always my favorite appetizer, the escargot was most tasty as I also used the bread to soak up the butter and parsley. My 8oz filet was perfect (as usual). Her salmon gave its life for a noble cause. The desserts were great. All at a total price well below so many Omaha "greats". With the superb food and fabulous service from Lisa, we will return often --- next in two weeks with family to celebrate a 50th anniversary.
Delicious menu offerings with fresh and flavorful condiments making the presentation fabulous and memorable! Oui shall return!
The cook on my steak fritte was spot on medium rare. Wine pairing from Nick was perfect. A delightful meal.
Excellent food and service. Nice wine and a baguette to take home
My wife & I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and it's quiet so that you can talk. The food is always exquisite and the wait staff is very attentive. We've never been disappointed and always look forward to our time there. Highly recommend Le Voltaire.
Fantastic food/wine and great waitstaff! We will definitely be going back.
We always enjoy a mini trip to France here. The staff is comprised of knowledgeable professionals able to help navigate the menu and select a wine pairing to meet your budget.
First time to this restaurant and we were excited to try it. Waitress seemed to be new, but we give that a pass usually. Everybody has to start somewhere and what she didn't know she tried to find out. We started with appetizers of flatbread, seafood gratin, and cups of French onion soup. All were excellent, but don't eat too much bread or you'll regret it when the rest of the meal arrives! A salad followed and then our meals.
Two of us ordered the trout special, which was described as being prepared to similar to salmon (it was) but the server did not mention that it came with scallops and shrimp. Good thing we didn't have a shellfish allergy! I believe her description was provided to her, so I'm not sure I can fault her for not telling us unless she just plain forgot. That said, the trout with quinoa and shrimp and scallops, along with a spicy fruit salsa (which was mentioned!) was excellent. The other entree at the table was veal-the other special of the day. Sadly this was not great. The meat, while prepared to chef's recommended medium rare, was chewy. And not just one serving. Both were chewy. Veal should be very tender and it was not. It was only the sauce that made it tolerable.
We ended with chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, and French press coffee. MMMM, good!
Service was excellent. Laura was very attentive to us throughout our visit. The food was awesome! Highly recommended!
Excellence service and food. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and pleasant ambiance conducive to conversation
