Established in the heart of Palm Springs since 1973, Le Vallauris located at the foot of San Jacinto Mountains has been the highest rated restaurant in the Palm Springs Valley since its inception. Owned and operated by the well known restaurateur Paul Bruggemans who was also owner of the Famous Le St Germain restaurant in Hollywood. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 and was owned by the owners of the famous Desert Inn which was The hotel in the Valley. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. It was a favorite place for General Patton when he was based in Palm Springs to stage the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The renowned Patio lined with Giant Fichus trees is THE place to dine. The Patio is cooled in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

What a wonderful evening! Food was really delicious. Ambience could not have been better. Intimate and friendly with a beautiful patio with remarkable trees. Magical. Service was terrific. And the owners are hands on stopping by all to greet and insure that every diner is delighted. It is a level of food and service that we don’t come across often. The area is lucky to have such a world class chef. No one rushes you. Great vibe and terrific music. Bravo for maintaining excellence in all areas for decades. A real oasis in the desert.

I took my wife for her birthday to this French restaurant based on stars and reviews.
I was absolutely thrilled with my choice. We recommend sitting on the patio underneath the trees. The temperature at night in the summer is absolutely perfect for Palm Springs.
The food is gourmet and the service impeccable and perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant established for decades. It is a true value and a true gem. I will go back !!

As 2 year residents of Palm Springs our visit to Le Vallauris was much over due. We are planning our next trip to Paris with friends and to celebrate came to your restaurant. My husband and I have been to Paris almost every year for a past 20 years. Once inside your lovely restaurant we could have easily imagined ourselves in one of our favorite restaurants in Paris. In most US restaurants people are constantly talking over each other and the restaurants are always load. Your establishment is wonderfully quiet and allow people to speak more intimately. This adds so much to the experience. Also the act of not being rushed to turn the table over is also evident. We truly felt the Parisian experience by enjoying much conversation prior to ordering dinner. Our waiter encouraged us to take our time. The food was amazing and creative. Lastly the ambiance was spectacular, warm, cozy, and relaxing. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more.

We will return again and again soon. Merci et à bientôt

I went for restaurant week. I thought this would be a way of giving the restaurant a chance.
The setting is great and the staff are attentive but not as attentive unless you are a regular there. Some patrons got a lot of attention and it appeared that they are known there. We, who are new could be your regulars too, just saying!
But then I probably would not be going back because the food was not up to the caliber on this level of a restaurant.
Fish was good, steak was fair, beet salad was ok, desserts were good.
Is good enough? not for this type of restaurant. You need to be very good and this did not hit the mark. disappointed and I would not rush to go there. I guess I will not be a regular there. And that blackboard with the food options did not work at all. Again not at a restaurant at this price level.
Restaurant week is a way of getting people to try expensive restaurants and what an opportunity. Too bad but others I tried were great. Good to take a chance because sometimes you really hit it right.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday with an excellent dinner of Caesar Salad, Lobster Ravioli and Creme Brûlée. Our waiter was the best.

Le Vallauris has an excellent menu selection and we will definitely be back.

Favorite restaurant in Palm Springs!!! We were seated out in the courtyard (don't worry--you won't melt!) Our waiter, Manny, was very knowledgeable about each dish and helped make our dining experience one to remember. Portions were adequate. My souffle was the fluffiest I've ever eaten. It's Restaurant Week in Palm Springs, so this is an opportunity to try a new restaurant at a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back and try something new.

We had a fabulous dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was great. I would have given it an over all 5 stars except for a couple minor things. The trees outside in the courtyard continued to drop leaves and seeds on the table. It was messy when we arrived and continued through dinner. Also once the check was paid and we stayed and talked with each other for a bit - no water was offered or a refill on coffee. Service just stopped. but over all the restaurant courtyard is beautiful. It is quiet enough to hear each other. It is a very expensive restaurant but worth it for a special occasion.

We had Avery lovely meal here. It was restaurant week so they had a fixed three course menu. There were gluten free options which I always appreciate. The trio of seafood appetizer was to die for. And everyone else loves theirs as well. The brilliant wines Pinot noir was delicious but the burgundy was not worth the higher cost in our opinion. I told the sommelier up to $150 and he immediately recommended one for $210. The ambience was excellent. The service very attentive. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant.

We have dined at Le Valauris twice in the past month. On both occasions, the food and service were excellent. Lots of menu choices - love their New England lobster poached in vanilla butter. Incredible wine list, particularly strong in red Bordeaux and white Burgundy, presided over by their master sommelier, Bruce. If you're a wine lover and can spare a fair amount of argent, this is the place for you.

Maitre'd had trouble finding our reservation, requiring me to repeat name and time.
Table was in a high traffic area, with several people bumping into my chair.
We asked for another table but were told this one was "cooler".
Service was efficient but not genuinely friendly.
We definitely got the feeling of being processed.
Different people kept attending the table. Yes, food runners and busboys, but that's what the waiter is for.

The food was average. My steak was tough and stringy; the potatoes had no flavor and were cold, For a restaurant of this reputation I expected far better. Our waiter was fine but the host had a haughty attitude bordering on rude. This evening was a gift for an old friend and frankly I was very embarrassed. One could blame it on Restaurant Week however it seems to me that is when you would want to put your very best foot forward … that certainly was not the case for us. Sorry … probably wont go back.

Top notch food and service, as expected. Took advantage of the restaurant week special menu. Server was attentive but a bit snooty. Outdoor patio is magical, with lights hanging overhead from the trees. Nice view of the mountain too. One complaint, air circulators were aimed at our heads. Asked the waiter if he could angle them higher but no luck. They finally shut off after other patrons complained. Seems odd that a fine French restaurant would not address a simple to solve issue after all these years in business.

It is so nice to have a great French restaurant in our area. Authentic French food is hard to find and still be of excellent quality. And Le Vallauris is one of the best. The menu items were varied and well presented. The food was outstanding and the Hanger steak was one of the best we have had. I had never had veal filet mignon before but it is now one of my favorites. The deserts were a little disappointing however and didn't match the quality of the rest of the food. Overall the service was superb by multiple staff members. Presentation was excellent also. Would highly recommend Le Vallauris when ever you want a great dining experience.

Le Vallaurius is always a treat, but during restaurant week is an actual bargain. Three courses for only $49! At those prices, it is easy to splurge on a great bottle of wine to accompany the food.

We had such a great experience the food was delicious I hope they never take the lobster dish and the corn cakes off the menu because that’s all I ever want to eat the Cesar salad was so crisp and so flavorful and the fresh anchovies added the special delight. Thank you for a wonderful evening we look forward to seeing you in October when we come

I have been living in the desert full time for 13 years and have always wanted to have dinner at this restaurant. We finally had the opportunity during restaurant week. I was disappointed in the food, however, the astmosphere was beautiful. It cost the 4 of us over $365. That is the most I have ever spent on a meal. Sadly, I won't be going back.

We were seated in a weird corner, far away from the famous LV courtyard. Our server was mostly inattentive and only half apologized for the fact that a “miscommunication” delayed our first course... for about 20-minutes. No joke. 20-minutes. We just sat there. The food was good, but not so good as to warrant the prices. I don’t mind paying top dollar for a great dining experience, but this isn’t it. The soufflé was described as “lite.” It was basically all egg whites. Honestly, it tasted like an egg white omelette. I don’t know what I expected. Someone else was complaining as we walked in, and I had read plenty of meh reviews. I guess I just hoped they’d put on a good show. Not do much. I had much better rack of lamb at Dish in Palm Springs before it closed.
