Established in the heart of Palm Springs since 1973, Le Vallauris located at the foot of San Jacinto Mountains has been the highest rated restaurant in the Palm Springs Valley since its inception. Owned and operated by the well known restaurateur Paul Bruggemans who was also owner of the Famous Le St Germain restaurant in Hollywood. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 and was owned by the owners of the famous Desert Inn which was The hotel in the Valley. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. It was a favorite place for General Patton when he was based in Palm Springs to stage the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The renowned Patio lined with Giant Fichus trees is THE place to dine. The Patio is cooled in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

I was blessed to be treated for the first time to Le Vallauris! my friend Susan drove from la Jolla just to take me to lunch ! I just lost my husband and her friend last week after being together for 41 fabulous years! They totally understood and gracefully only like the French can do, treated us with total respect, attentiveness and professionalism! I have lived here for 12 years with my husband and this was a treat only comparable to Tropicale! Know I will return now many times! Que Dieu vous bénisse pour votre compassion!

Every time we go to Palm Springs we try to make it here. The food, service & ambiance are excellent as always. They have the best tun tartare ever. Their duck dishes are superb. Dessert, chocolate tart with caramel gelato was fabulous. Always a treat to eat here. Have never had a complaint

One of the top restaurant in Palm Springs. Words cannot describe the exceptional quality of food and service at Le Vallauris. Lobster bisque, stuffed pear salad, Colorado lamb, and the lightest soufflé are my favorites here. Our waiter spoke perfect French, very knowledgeable about the wines, and offered good recommendations on dishes to try.

We had a very nice time, had a great table, and a very nice waiter. The food was excellent. The seared foie gras was excellent as was the endive salad. The venison arrived a bit undercooked which they fixed by cutting the tournedos in half to cook faster. I would have preferred they continued to cook the pieces as is to maintain its juiciness. The duck breast was quite good too. The creme brûlée was excellent. Martinis were great.

Outstanding service at one of Palm Springs best restaurants. French food isn’t really my forte so some of the dishes were hit/miss. Overall great experience. They paid special attention to my anniversary on a busy night and made it very special for that I’m very Thankful.

Being going here for over 40 years and have noticed a definite decline in food over the last several years. This was the worst (in fairness it was Saturday, Thanksgiving weekend). My Fois Gras was ice cold in the middle, then the white fish was dried out and the mustard sauce was also dry (obviously the plate had been sitting under the heat lamp). Oddly the potatoes were almost raw. The only good thing I had was the soufflé which was great. I can only recommend that anyone skip the meal and have a desert.

Every time I Come here I am grateful to be dining in this special place in Palm Springs. The restaurant is so romantic, the service is so French, and the cuisine is delicious. The owners are charming and always so elegant. This is an elegant restaurant that has a sort of French flair mixed with California elegant casual. The food is delicious and their lobster ravioli are something that you will crave the next morning for more.

The Vallauris never disappoints. A meal on the patio is always magical. The food is classical French cuisine at it's best, the service is old school professional, and the atmosphere is romantic. The world class wine list makes this a destination for wine buffs as well. Thank you, Le Valleuris, for a memorable Thanksgiving.

This restaurant offers an old-fashioned idea of French food; it might have been more exciting in the 50's before people traveled. The food was unimaginative and mediocre - gared towards the older country club set who aren't really interested in good food. The wine list is outrageously expensive and the wines by the glass are limited and not exciting. Plus, I don't appreciate having my wine by the glass served in a small carafe where I can't see what they are pouring - cafeteria style. They should be pouring from the bottle at the table - especially given the prices they charge for a glass.

Service was not great: we had to ask twice for our full place settings; some of the utensils were dirty; and our wine was not served until we were most of the way through our entree course.

Also, they need to clean their carpets- they are a bit smelly.

I love them for Brunch.

Thanksgiving was terrible - my advice, stick with Brunch. I usually dine at Copley's but everyone suggested Le Vallauris for Thanksgiving this year - what a massive fail!

It started fine with the appetizers - Beet salad and pear salad - not very imaginative but afterall it is Thanksgiving and things are usually traditional. The bad news came with the entrees filet and turkey - how hard could it be, right?

Filet was ordered medium but came rare with a potato dish that was ice cold. Turkey was ordered white meat only but came with almost no white meat and almost all dark meat. Additionally the stuffing was far from fluffy but was soggy and 'soupy'.

Ok it was a busy night - I get it. We asked for the bill - time to go - lesson learned.

Unfortunately a manager came by and asked how wonderful the meal was - my reply sent him into a tailspin. When asked for more info, his response was rude and snooty "I've had the stuffing yeaterday and today and it was fabulous". Seriously? Who care if you have had it every day - I'm the one eating it and you asked my opinion. Every kitchen makes a mistake - why get argumentative? Yet further in dialog I was told that he has been in the business for 45 years and never had a complaint like mine!? Again, seriously? Who cares - I'm the guest.

As I said, I paid my bill and left.

Note to the manager of 45 years - the correct reply would have been sorry for your underwhelming experience - here is my card - please take my offer and come back again on a regurlar night and my restaurant will wow you!

We have been at Le Vallauris for both dinner and Sunday brunch. Both were excellent. Sunday brunch menu is a combination of traditional brunch (e.g.,eggs benedict) or lunch courses (steak, fish, etc). Brunch is a great value, though dinner is great for a special occasion. The service is terrific: attentive but not overly so. We make a point of going once or twice each winter season we are here.

Second time to Le Vallauris. First time was nearly 10 years ago and my wife and I thought it was one of the best restaurant experiences that we have ever had (and we have eaten at some great places). This time, our second visit, we went for our 25th wedding anniversary. The ambiance was awesome, the meal amazing, the staff perfect, and the piano player excellent. Could not have been better. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a special night out.
