One of my favorite restaurants. The patio is amazing as is the food and the service.
Beautiful courtyard ambience. Typical French sized teensy Weensy portions for $$$
Amazing dirty martini
Service could have been more attentive
Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Palm Springs, food was outstanding!
The lovely dining area under the trees is just the first sign of how special your experience is going to be. The service was the kind that makes you feel pampered but not intruded upon. The food was delicious & beautiful. This is a place for a special evening in Palm Springs.
From the moment one walks into the room one is awestruck at the beauty surrounding you. Also, it is a real pleasure to see concierge and waitstaff in formal attire. Lately dining out has become too casual in a fine dining restaurant.
The food was delicious, the drinks generous and the server extremely pleasant and knowledgeable.
Great place for a special dinner.
Wonderful meal and excellent service. I felt like I was in the south of France.
Celebrated our 34th Anniversary with a wonderful dinner!
Nearly perfect, as usual.
Everything was perfect!
We decided with the Prix Fixe dinner. The first two courses were very good, especially the salmon which was outstanding. My main course was the scallops [ 2 scallops divided in half]. The scallops were exceptional, but the accompaniments were Ok. My partner ordered the veal and it was a disappointment as was tasteless. Desert was the highlight. Chocolate Mud Cake and Lemon Tart. Both were fantastic. Biggest problem, though, were the flies. All evening we were constantly posted by a large group and basically ruined the whole evening
Fabulous!!! Food and ambiance outstanding! nice wine selection. Excellent waiters and staff. We had such an enjoyable evening. Thank you Le Vallauris
I love this restaurant!!
It never disappoints---year after year!!!
I have never had the same thing twice and have never been anything but thrilled with my selection. The wait staff are fabulous. The patio makes me happy everytime I step under the trees
We have been coming to that very special place over the years. Consistently excellent quality of food, service and ambiance. The best place in the desert!
I’ve been visiting Palm Springs for over 60 years and for the past forty four Le Vallauris has been the best restaurant in the entire desert area. Great good, outstanding service and a wonderful environment. Simply stated they’re number one!
Le Vallauris is an example of old-school fine dining. Waitstaff dressed in tuxedos, live piano playing in the lounge, a massive outdoor dining space (complete with heaters for those chilly Palm Springs nights). Three menus--ala carte which changes every week and two somewhat different pre fixe menus as different prices. We did ala carte and enjoyed two apps and two mains, some wine and then desserts. Visually and in terms of taste, all five dishes were excellent. The place was packed (on a Wednesday night), but the staff seems ample and up to the task of delivering a memorable evening. We chose Le Vallauris as an examplar of an iconic Palm Springs restaurant and we were not disappointed.
Beautiful courtyard but we were placed at a small table with a tree angled across it. Inconvenient but tolerable. Food was wonderful. We did the tasting menu with wine pairings. Service was slow and not very connecting. The sommelier's recommendation was just a suggestion of the wine types without mentioning the vineyards or giving tasting notes. Worth a try if you are comfortable spending over $300 for dinner for two and taking over three hours to dine.
Loved it. Every time. Except this time we were stuck inside even though it was my wife’s birthday Cramped and side room. We’re 15 minutes late regardless will Not eat inside again except for weather
It’s one of the best dining experiences ever. They treat you like Hollywood royalty.
Wonderful atmosphere, especially the outside dining. Food was excellent, so was the service.
We felt that the food was quite overpriced though. The beet salad was puny, and so was the tiny bowl of
berries. Would only recommend to someone who had no budget!
Always the very best Sunday brunch in the Valley. Wonderful food and exceptional service. Our favourite.
the place has a lot of history and the food is great!... however, one must keep up with the times and freshen up the look a bit. Keep it historic, but a little updating on the furniture would do.
Always wonderful.... consistently perfect
Went for an anniversary lunch on that patio. The weather was perfect and the tables had small centerpieces of roses and bougainvillea which the waiter said was his creation. I had the prix fixe lunch consisting of a wonderful, yet simple salad of beets, chevre, and pistachios surrounded by petals of very thinly sliced lady apples that were simply dressed in a drizzle of olive oil. The entree was a melt-in-your-mouth filet dressed in a coarsely ground black pepper sauce and served with a generous side of thin-to-medium sized pomme frites. Dessert was the most heavenly grand Marnier souffle that was light and a bit eggy in texture and something that I can only dream of making. My husband had the chicken breast which was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and served with out-of-this-world truffle ravioli. A great dining experience and reasonably priced considering the high quality of the food and beautiful presentation. We will be back soon!
The place is perfect
Wonderful as usual. I’ve never had a bad meal there.
The service and ambiance are always outstanding. A truly enjoyable evening.
Fantastic as always. So delightfully French; our little piece of FRANCE in California.
Delicious prix fix. Everything I want in a fine dining experience.
A wonderful location (amazing garden patio nicely lit under trees) with a very attentive/professional service. Great wine list and truly amazing French food - pate, lobster pasta and veal cheeks were simply perfect; the pavlova was a great balance of sweetness and freshness.A great dining experience for all senses.
A very enjoyable evening, we took friends that had never been and they LOVED it.
A wonderful experience service and food were both top notch . The owner greeted us at our table the waiter was excellent .
The menu is Prix Fixe (wish I'd known). And while I went for brunch, the selections on the dinner and lunch menus vary little. $75 for eggs benedict, 6 oz. of soup and a fruit tart is acceptable occasionally, IF the food is exceptional, or perhaps spectacularly presented or with unique ingredients. In my experience it was none of these.
Value however is not my primary complaint. I was amazed and disgusted seeing several (impeccably and stylishly dressed and coiffed) dogs occupying restaurant chairs, on tables being served off plates, posing with guests, AND being handled, petted and oogled over by wait staff including the person serving my food! The dog's owners gushed... And I suspect the gratuities reflected their appreciation and approval.
Someone , call the health department!
It’s was a wonderful lunch - didn’t feel rushed which is always appreciated
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the country! I have been coming here for 25+ year and have never been disappointed! The food is exquisite, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I love that the owner always takes the time to come and speak with you at the table. While the staff are all amazing my absolute favorite waiter is Olivio! 5 stars all the way and if I could give 10 stars I would!!
We went for a birthday lunch, and it was absolutely wonderful. Gorgeous setting outdoors, delicious food and wine, and the most amazing service. Perfect!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere.
This place is old school cool in all the right ways. From the band in the bar, to the well dressed (and well mannered) waitstaff, and the classic but delicious French cuisine, Le Vallauris is everything I was hoping for in a Palm Springs dining experience.
And for anyone concerned it might be too uptight, for Palm Springs this might be on the “stuffy” end of the spectrum, but if you’re from NYC, Chicago, etc. you’ll find it’s actually a pretty relaxed and inviting place.
Sea bass was average
We came to Le Vallauris at the recommendation of my parents who eat here frequently and had inquired but not tried a vegan meal there. My husband had an excellent salmon meal and enjoyed his other Prix Fixe entrees. I ordered a vegan meal which was a medley of veggies (same as on my husband's salmon plate) with some oil but no flavor, not even garlic that was noticeable and 5-6 deep fried potato chips for $28. I have had creative vegan/vegetarian meals across the world and a good chef should be able to at least put together a decent meal. The service was very inattentive. I don't mind a slow relaxed meal and we had planned on that but a glass of wine to sit with would be nice! Our reservation was at 8 and we waited in the bar for 20 minutes without one person taking a drink order. Then, once seated, we waited about the same until a menu was brought with drink requests. Two ladies that came in right as we were getting our table went straight to their table and were helped about 10 minutes before. That didn't help the hangry. For the price, MANY better options especially if you might have a vegetarian/vegan in your party.
Wow!! Romance, ambiance, service all outside on a beautiful desert evening. This is a cant miss romantic restaurant in the heart of Palm Springs. Can’t remember our waiter’s name, but he was professional, informative, helpful, and fun. All good in our book! The patio is exquisite.
He recommended a wonderful medium priced Syrah first. Hard to get quality escargot, but not here. Just the right combination of garlic and butter. Great for bread dipping also! Wife enjoyed her sea bass, I had the duck which was perfectly seasoned and cooked. A wonderful dining experience.
I made the reservation on line, then called the morning of the reservation to advise that one of my guests was celebrating a birthday. I live in the desert and have eaten at Le Vallauris a number of times through the years. I was disappointed on 1 level in particular. I assumed that we would be seated outside. It was the birthday guests' first visit to Le Vallauis. We were seated inside , in a pleasant dining room with a view of the parking lot and cars! Disappointing because we had talked up the garden to the birthday guest. Is it necessary these days to request the garden? How does one do that with online booking? I did book about 9 days in advance.
