On our second visit we found the food to be excellent, presentation wonderful and service flawless. We had requested a table in the outdoor area but found the one we had was away from the heaters. The Maitre d’ worked hard to move us to a table closer to heaters. The owner then brought my wife a blanket for her legs. Service personified. Again this year we were fortunate to have Mark as our waiter. He is superbly professional and not afraid to offer his opinion on various menu selections.
The food was a bit bland, lacking in much flavor, but the front of the house staff was very attentive.
This was our second dinner at Le Vallauris in less than a week. We'd taken a houseguest for dinner on Friday. On Sunday, she announced that she wanted to take us out for a farewell dinner the evening before she departed. Her choice for the special occasion was Le Vallauris, and an excellent choice it was. She flew back to Chicago a new fan of our favorite Palm Springs restaurant.
This is a great place for fine dining! The food and service were both outstanding
This was the second time we had visited there. The first time was great. So I took my husband there for his birthday expecting the same. It was quite different. The waitress took our drink order. We had to ask for some bread. Then she came with the menu board & we made the selections. The food arrived in a reasonable time & was of the quality we had previously experienced. Then the waitress disappeared. She acted as if we did not exist & our table was empty. After 30 minutes the owner came by & I asked him if we might see the dessert menu. He was very gracious & brought us those & made recommendations. Someone else whom we'd not previously seen brought the dessert. The original waitress still did not appear. We finished & were waiting for the bill, but no one seemed interested. Finally I asked another waiter if we might have the check & he brought it. However, we could not get anyone to take the check. Finally we got up to head to the front desk. All of a sudden the original waitress appeared & said she would take the check. I told her we intended to pay the manager & discuss the problem with her. I told her that she was about the worst waitress I'd ever encountered. She completely ignored us. The manager was very apologetic & graciously deducted the desserts from the bill & gave us his card & told us to please return & ask for him. This waitress needs to find another line of work.
As always, a lovely time was had by all (3) of us.
This is as fine a dining experience as there is in Palm Springs. The food, service, ambience are above reproach. Every customer is treated like a regular. In our top five restaurants anywhere.
First class experience in every way. Staff exceptionally professional. Best meal we’ve ever had in Palm Springs.
Great restaurant that we’ve been a few times. The food and service has always been great. This time we were inside where the tables were a bit tight. Try to sit int patio garden area.
The outdoor setting is lovely and well heated for cool nights. Beautiful French cuisine at its finest. You can’t go wrong with choosing anything on the menu - simply delicious. Wonderful and attentive staff.
The escargot, quail and lobster ravioli were all deliciously prepared, beautifully presented and served. We had a wonderful experience and plan to visit this restaurant again soon.
Service was amazing as always. Food was over the top delicious. Still among my top favorite places for special occasions.
We've been frequenting Le Vallauris for five years. The food and staff consistently surpassed expectations. It is our go-to place for special occasions and to show out-of-town guests what fine dining in Palm Springs is all about.
Put simply Le Vallauris is one of my favorite restaurants in the world! I highly recommend the prix fixe lunch and be sure to enjoy the Grand Marnier souffle for dessert.
Continues to be one of our all time favorite restaurants!!
One of the finest restaurants in Palm Springs. The food, service and ambience are outstanding!
I dine here whenever we are in Palm Springs. It is wonderful and all the staff make you feel so good.
Back again in March!
This was truly a wonderful dining experience. The food the service and the environment were superb. Of course it helped I was with Stan Paul and Mamie who knew the owner and the maitre d and the management very very very well...thanx stephen levitt,md
Anniversary dinner. Our special place each year.
Never a disappointment!! One of the best places a special dinner.
Food, service and ambiance is excellent!!
Le Vallauris continues to be one of the best in a region with many exquisite dining establishments. Everything is "just right," and the prices are fair. Gracious and relaxed elegance in a comfortable setting. Delightful!
The staff is above and beyond incredible. They make the meal.
Fantastic! Everyone’s dinner was over the top delicious! Service was excellent!
Classic French fare, served by an army of highly attentive (but not overly so) waitstaff and sommeliers. Goes against the fad of local sourcing, to get amazing whitefish from Lake Superior, lobster from Maine, etc., focusing on great ingredients and classic preparation. Impressive wine list, somewhat intimidating, though there is a first page with simpler, more familiar, and more reasonably priced suggestions.
Spectacular as always! Like dining in la salle à manger de vos grand-mère. Parfait!
Overhyped. Felt rushed. Halibut was tasteless, bland.
Celebrating a birthday
1st experience and loved it, food and presentation are excellent , we'll be back :-)
The few negative reviews focus on perceived pretentiousness of staff. Our experience was quite the opposite. Our interaction with the servers and other staff was positive. The restaurant is quite popular with the affluent and older clientele. There is however an industrialized feel to the operation rather than an intimate dining experience. The exterior dining area is really quite spectacular and the preparation of the food was very good. The dishes are for the most part excellent preparations of standards .This is not the spot for innovative or cutting edge cuisine however. The wine list is extensive and the sommelier excellent.Overall a very lovely evening and meal but comparisons to world class or top tier fine dining are overstated.
Tremendous experience. Food was excellent as was the service.
Outstanding dining experience . We celebrated my husband's 60 th birthday there. First time in Palm Springs and at this restaurant and NOT the last. We will be back next year for sure.
We found the food very overpriced and mediocre. The beet salad tasted like it used canned beets. The branzini fish was delicate but with little flavor. The outdoor setting is very lovely but it was highly compensation for the overpriced boring food.
excellent experience from start to finish as usual - a very special place for dinner for two or a group from out of town as it is a memorable one of a kind place
A lovely restaurant, which I have enjoyed for years. Sunday brunch was very pleasant even though we had to sit indoors as the terrace was packed full. Food was wonderful. Service not so much as the wait staff kept mixing up the orders and omitting some of those ordered. However, they were cheerful about being corrected and brought the correct items promptly.
As ALWAYS, our brunch was exquisite!!! ... the chef was graciously willing to prepare a special diet surprise dish for me and I could not have been more pleased! Thank you all!!!
Top notch food and service at this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
We enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. The entire staff was professional without being stuffy and the food is amazing. Perfect special occasion restaurant but also whenever you want to treat yourself to an exceptional dining experience.
Delightful meal on the tree-shaded patio.
I had heard about this place so we gave it a try. Outstanding. We will be back many times because of the quality of food, the high level of service, and location
Great food and service. Hidden gem in Palm Springs
