Feels like you're in a charming European bistro...and the food matches!
Had a delightful Christmas get together with an old friend there. We both enjoyed our meals. She had the mushroom ravioli special. I had a salmon salad. Both were good. The wine was good value. The hot lava cake was good. We plan to go back. We like the intimate feel of the restaurant and are looking forward to dining outside by the fountain in warmer weather. The service was very attentive. We have no complaints.
Dining at the Le Chateau Garden Bistro was a wonderful experience. The wait time was short, the restaurant was cozy and warm. The wait staff was excellent, attentive, and courteous. The food was excellent, portions ample, and presentation excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those travelling to Orange County.
I love this restaurant. I always use here for my business lunch because the room is quiet, cozy and food tastes good. My overall review, however, is 4 stars this time because when I called the restaurant that we would be a little late, the restaurant didn't have my reservation. Even I had made the reservation through opentable and it gave me the reservation reminder the day before. (It was not a problem though because the restaurant was not busy)
We always enjoy sitting on the beautiful patio. The service was great. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately, we do have one negative comment to make. My husband ordered the tacos as his dinner and they did taste delicious, but he had to eat them with a fork because they were so soggy and fell apart as he tried to eat them. He stated they should have had a double tortilla, or some sort of stronger tortilla to be able to handle the wet contents.
Overall, the restaurant was fine. The food was good, not great, but good enough. The service was woefully lacking. There was no one in the restaurant at all and it took them quite awhile to get our order for beverages. Then we asked for water, which would have never been delivered, if we did not ask again. Then it took quite awhile to again get our food order. The food was prepared as requested and the portions were generous. The courtyard was pretty, but the actual restaurant was dated and dark. This is not the type of restaurant that I would visit again, as the food did not outweigh the other issues noted.
It was a Sunday brunch for mother’s day with champagne and mimosas. Had multiple selections including an omelette stand as well as ham and steak stand
We love the food, service and ambiance of the outdoor patio. Always exceeds our expectations.
My favorite secret restaurant especially for lunch on the garden patio. Good food, great service, shhh don't tell anyone about my secret place!
I always enjoy coming here for lunch and sitting out on the patio. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. My only problem is the noise of the airplanes as they fly over. Still, I enjoy coming here and recommend it.
The restaurant did not even have our reservation on file. The occasion was a family reunion following our son's wedding the night before. As a result, we were seated in cramped quarters right next to the bar.
The food and service are very good.
I really like the variety of menu options
We’ll be back!
A very nice restaurant. A hidden gem in Newport Beach/ costa Mesa area. The food is good, its quaint and quiet for a nice lunch dining experience. Ofelina was our server and she was fantastic. It's a great place for a nice lunch or dinner date.
On line said they served brunch till 3 on Sun. Arrived at 11:30. No breakfast food. Disappointed.
A;ways a pleasant meal, lunch or dinner.
The service people are polite and accommodating.
Lovely garden setting although we were there during winter. Pot roast was perfect for a winter dinner.
Drinks were very good and our server was very accomodating.
Ventured here directly off a flight for brunch for my birthday. The ambiance by the outdoor fountain in the garden was great, though noisy due to planes flying overhead. The Ahi Tuna, Crab Cakes, and Shrimp Cocktail were awesome! The staff was great. And I was very appreciative of the nice dessert surprise, compliments of the chef, for my birthday. Will definitely return...soon.
Outdoor area very charming. Food is delicious and service was excellent.
Have been to Le Chateau many times for dinner this time for lunch. As usual, delicious food, varied menu with something for everyone. Patio very pleasant (except for occasional plane from JW). Good service from friendly waiters. Highly recommend.
Food was great everyone at our table was very pleased with their dinner. Server was attentive, friendly and knew the menu well to describe various dishes. Garden patio was so pleasant!
Fabulous meal, service and ambiance..Group will certainly return..
Everything was outstanding. Only complaint is that it took a little long considering it was lunch service. I wasn’t on a time crunch today, but I usually need to keep it to 30 minutes. The environment was great with the fountain in the courtyard. I will definitely be back!
The restaurant did all it could to accommodate us since Open Table did not create a reservation for us. A table was created and the host and waiters were very professional. The buffet (Easter and Mother's Day) was excellent.
Mother’s Day brunch was amazing!
Service was excellent from the staff. Beautiful dining area outside. Very nice atmosphere
Mothers Day brunch was incredible. Its been 20 years since I last dined here. WOW!
The restaurant itself is very pretty inside the wait staff were attentive. I ordered the turkey club sandwich and it was marginal at best. The bread was overly toasted that I could barely bite into the sandwich. The Asian coleslaw was okay, there were some wontons in it and they were a bit stale. This restaurant is inside a hotel and if I were a guest here then I would probably eat here again otherwise I would not return.
Wonderful oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Like taking a mini-vacation during the business day. Nice menu. Only downside is the occasional noise of passenger jets flying over head.
Easter family brunch for six people
Great food at a good price considering the restaurant is located in a hotel. Wonderful courtyard. Lunch was like a mini vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the work place. A hidden gem.
The dinner was outstanding. The food was so delicious and cooked just right. The staff was attentive, helpful and gracious. We'll definitely return to this restaurant again.
Service was great. Atmosphere nice. Convenience good. Sadly my pot roast was very tough and dry. My friend's dish was "okay". I had high hopes because the restaurant in the Ayers in Hawthorne, CA is phenomenal.
Quaint courtyard. Fountain, umbrellas, statues and flowers were the perfect backdrop to a festive lunch. The Monte Cristo was perfect!
It's been several years since I last ate here, so thought I'd go again with a friend for a pre-show dinner, as I recalled the food being very good. What I didn't remember though was that the location of the restaurant precludes going back up Bristol to South Coast as it's a one-way only turn out of the driveway. This meant we had to take the freeway to get back to the concert hall. It was time-consuming and inconvenient so I shan't be dining there again. In addition the menu was completely different from what I had recalled, being more geared to lunch with lots of burgers and sandwiches. The pot roast however was delicious and tender (practically falling off the fork!), and though the seafood bisque was tasty it was, sadly, luke-warm.
Mother's day brunch was delicious. Good selection served fresh. Bottomless Mimosas.
everything was so delicious and chefs did excellent preparing and presentation. Excellent quality. service was bit slow due to the busy crowd although the food was the show stopper and the dessert beyond excellent.
The problem was that it had no alternative to brunch and it included far too many carbs I loved.
We thought we would try our luck on this "hidden gem". And we are so glad we did! The atmosphere was great for our Easter brunch and the staff was very friendly and courteous. We would recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy a delicious meal!
Le Chateau Garden Bistro in the middle of a busy area is a real find. The restaurant is very quiet and one can have a conversation without being overwhelmed with ambient noise. We enjoyed the variety of the menu. The waiters were solicitous, conscientious and took care of all of our needs. Even though it is "off the beaten path" it is worthwhile to be there and enjoy a good meal. After our lunch we sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the patio. No one rushed us, even nice.
