The food and service were great. Unfortunately, the menu prices were not as posted on the OpenTable app and the portions were much smaller than in the past.

We went to Latils Landing during their winter menu. The food was absolutely one of the top 5 meals I’ve ever had. And that’s saying something as I have been all over the world eating great food. The grouper with wild mushrooms was positively sublime. The lobster and sweet potato bisque with truffle oil was a surprising hit. The use of warm water lobster rather than cold water lobster was inspired. The sweet potato needed no additional sweetness and the lobster added a nice texture to the bisque. The waigu beef rib was positively succulent and tender in a way only properly prepared waigu can be. And the balance of salt, spices, and acids was perfect. I will return when the spring menu starts. I’m curious if the chef can keep this level of gustatory performance up.

Everything was wonderful except we did not care for tabasco in the dessert. We have enjoyed coming to Latil's for special occasions for the last 10 -12 years. we also come at other times also. We have stayed in the cottages on several trips .

Latil’s Landing Restaurant at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens gave my wife and I more than just an incredible dinning experience, but also a memorable night that we will always be able to look back on with a smile. Also, before dinner we participated in the Houmas House Untold Ghost Stories tour, which is exclusive to certain dates and times in the month of October. This tour truly captured the essence of the Plantation grounds and gave historical background on many people and objects associated with the Houmas House. There is also a general historical tour of the Houmas House throughout the majority of the year and no matter what tour you might partake in, I would highly recommend taking a tour before eating because it really sets a nice tone for the dinning experience. It can be a bit of a pricey experience, but it’s definitely worth saving up some money for if your looking to have an amazingly unforgettable experience. Again, because of the Houmas House and the people that maintain it and keep it’s spirit alive, my wife and I were able to create a memory we will never forget. Thank y’all for everything and you can bet that we will be back again one day, but until then take care.

First let me say we were so happy to be able to get back into Latils Landing. The pre designed meal was amazing! Our waiter Josh was a perfect host. Answering all our questions. And giving us a peak at future plans on menu changes. And his choice for the classic rock music made it all exceptional! We can’t wait to come back for dinner under the oaks in a few months. 5 stars all around!

We live in New Orleans and have been to Homas House a few times. Love the setting and grounds. Last night we made the trip just for drinks at the Turtle Bar followed by dinner at Latil’s. The 5 course tasting meal was perfect (well prepared and tasty), the room was cozy and the wine pairings were worth it. Highly recommended. A do-over even with the 1 hr drive which says a lot given the many options in our NOLA backyard!

Our party of 6 had the Chef's Menu. We were in an awesome quiet private room. Everything was GREAT! The only negative was it took a long time to get cocktails. The chef did an amazing job with the food and wine pairings. The server was terrific. We will return!

We had a wonderful meal and experience! My friend and I were celebrating birthdays and we are pescatarian. The server was attentive and accommodating and said the chef happily made changes to the proteins for us. Bonus was walking through the gardens at dusk and enjoying the exotic plants and birds. We will definitely be back and will be telling friends about this hidden gem.

If only I could give more stars…this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. They were extremely accommodating because my daughter won’t eat fish or seafood so they modified their recipes. It is quaint and intimate and profound with history! The service was attentive. Easy listening music but not too loud. The food was delicious despite the fact it was a set menu with no choices. I can’t wait to return with the rest of my family.

We visited for our anniversary. The restaurant is cozy and romantic and the service was excellent. The food and drinks were also excellent for the most part. My one complaint with the food was my entree, a pan seared red snapper that was overcooked and tough. My only other complaint about the evening was that despite noting when making my reservation through open table that it was an anniversary meal, this was not observed by the restaurant or the server while the anniversary of another couple in the dining room was (who apparently received a bottle of wine in honor of the event). These things happen, though, and we still enjoyed the restaurant very much.

Valentines Dinner. Cant say it was bad but they definitely oversold the meal. This restaurant is normally wonderful. Have been to lunch and dinner several times and was always extremely pleased. This visit ... First problem is because of the oversell they had set up tables in less desirable locations than the actual restaurant. We ate at a temporary tap Le in the front parlor. Not bad but not Latils landing which is what I booked and confirmed way in advance. The food was below par as well. The base and the ingredients in the gumbo were excellent. Unfortunately they were overwhelmed by a heavy handed dollop of heat. The subtle blend of quality ingredients was hidden in pepper. The crab cake appetizer was flat out superb. It doesn’t get any better. The lobster risotto was a generous portion of fried lobster tails over a bed of well prepared risotto. We ordered our filet medium rare. It was small and delivered closer to medium. Wasn’t bad (especially since the price for the meal was extremely reasonable) but it wasn’t the quality one is used to having at Latina landing. The fingerling potatoes and carrots were perfectly cooked and an excellent accompaniment. We ordered bread pudding and red velvet cheesecake for dessert. Both were uniquely prepared and frankly sublime. We enjoyed our meal but will avoid Latils for holiday occasions in the future.

My main complaint is that because I had never been to Latil's before, I went on the website the day of my visit and looked at the menu (clicked on the menu button) and had in my mind what I would order and what the price would be ($65). Upon arriving, there was a menu on the table and it was not the menu I had looked at on the website, about 30 minutes prior to leaving my house. I asked the waiter about this and he said it was a special event (day before Valentine's day; a Thursday) and that this was on the website. When I got home I went back to the website and there was a tab that said upcoming events. When I opened this tab, I saw the Valentine's Day menu. So, instead of $65 per person, my meal was $95 per person for not nearly as much of a selection of menu items. The food was better than average and the atmosphere was really nice. Our waiter was excellent.

We spent Christmas Eve night at Houmas House. We drove down Friday m Baton Rouge. The weather was perfect. The entire place was beautifully and tenderly decorated with a fabulous whimsy. We slowly walked the grounds taking pictures and talking with other holiday revelers. Then we stopped in the Turtle Bar for a couple rounds of French 75s. Then strolled around the live oaks and fountain to the entrance to Latil’s at the main house. We ate upstairs next to a fireplace at a lovely table. A Prix Fixe menu of 3 or 5 courses with or without wine pairings. My wife did 3 and I did the 5. Boudin ravioli with foie gras. Oh my. Curried pumpkin crawfish and corn soup. Again, wow. Lump crab on house made mozzarella and tomatoes, perfect. Sorbet course of cranberry. Then I had the rack of lamb with blackberry coulis and sweet potato purée. My wife the Wagu filet (which was astounding). Wine pairings were perfect. Gently getting to know the other guests, and the really sweet and informed staff made the evening very special. The desserts were a bit heavy and large. Given Christmas Eve we would have liked something a little lighter after a big dinner. Maybe perfect Christmas cookies or similar treats would have been great. But this is a very small criticism. We think we discovered a new annual tradition. Then afterwards we strolled the gardens in all the lights and decor back to our car. Wonderful evening.

Prior to dinner, we suggest a visit to Turtle Bar located in the historic Garconniere. Considered one of the most unique, architectural gems in America, A full range of cocktails, wines, specialty drinks, and beers are offered. Our selections of Bourbons, Scotch, and Rums are to be seen, and tasted. Tours of the Mansion are available at $24 per person, and tours begin on the hour, and last one hour. For a 7 PM dinner reservation, we recommend a visit to the Turtle Bar at 5:30 and bring your cocktails with you on the tour at 6PM.
