    Started with our seating. We were at a table that was set in a pass through for diners to get to the bathroom (shared with the building) and the staff to get supplies, so almost constant flow of people. Didn’t help. Food was fussy and overwrought, and very expensive, but not surprisingly great. Tough duck, overly hot halibut, strange all around. Wait staff was very nice but not so attentive (perhaps because we were hidden away) . Maybe just not my cup of tea. But it wasn’t for any of the 6 In our party either.

    Lark continues to be one of my favorite spots. Dinner was once again excellent. I really enjoy the menu, interesting and varied with very deliberate thoughtfulness. I definitely enjoy the physical space, the ambience and feel is cleanly elegant and welcoming. Our server was a top-notch professional, who elevated the experience and helped us with some useful suggestions and insights.

    Husband loved the special, potatoe gnocchi with wonderful spices, I loved my halibut and outstanding oysters and we enjoyed the great desserts.

    Good upscale restaurant experience. Our server was pleasant and helpful, and the food was excellent, beginning to end. With a tab of about $400 for a party of three, I was not happy to see an added 4% "service charge" that specified 100% was for management, in other words, not a tip for the server. I'm not a fan of these charges: please restaurants, just charge the prices on the menu you need to charge and skip the hidden fees. The manager cheerfully took the charge off the bill at my request.

    I’ll start by saying the service was top tier, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, the food fell very flat. We had the unagi, of which the skin was so chewy it was completely inedible. The cocktails were ok, but at $22 each felt extremely overpriced. Our waitress was wonderful and very kindly removed the unagi from our bill, again speaking to the wonderful service and attentiveness. While it’s possible we received a one-off lackluster dish, I don’t think I’d recommend Lark to any travelers coming through the Seattle area.
