Our daughters 18th birthday and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Allowed us to bring in a cake, treated us to a glass of champagne and the Sunday brunch was fantastic. Big thumbs up for a special occasion or an every day visit. We’ll be back.
Great location, lovely food and they even brought more sandwiches for us. A wide choice of tea’s which the benefits of each were explained to us by our server, unlimited as well as coffee or hot chocolate. The service was outstanding very attentive, anything uneaten was boxed for us to takeaway.
Thanks and good service
Food was fine and good value on the set menu deal although. they seem to have a fruit fly problem which needs to be addressed, they were buzzing around us!
The atmosphere was nice and cosy, but because we was sat by the back so we didn’t get a lot of attention from the waiters so we had to wave a lot for ages until someone noticed us. Or sometimes we had to get up from our seats and find someone to serve us. We opted for the Sunday roast, it was lovely but the Yorkshire puddings was hard as rocks so we need more gravy to soften it. But we couldn’t get the waiters to notice us to let them know for more gravy.
I would go again because it was so close to the station and the atmosphere was very nice.
This was an excellent experience for us all, we had a set meal with bubbles, which was fantastic value, every dish was delicious. Service was excellent and ambience was lovely, beautiful room with harpist. Highly recommend and would return
A truly wonderful afternoon tea 🥂🍰💕 we felt thoroughly spoilt 🥰
We were the only people at the restaurant, but while we were there until closing time we had drinks starter main and desert there was a fly during all the time we were there, I complained a few times and nothing was done about it. We also did not finish our food, all three course I will not ever come to dine again. I booked three course meal around £30 each but when the final bill came it was about £160. Something needs to be sorted out
It was my friend’s birthday and we enjoyed the dinner. Nice ambient
We had the botanical afternoon tea and it was superb. Beautiful setting with live harpist, and delicious food. Our server asked about dietary requirements on arrival, and it was no trouble to cater for a vegetarian. My only complaint would be that we were not offered a tea refill.
Had the set meal deal very tasty very good value, lovely staff
Nice restaurant with a good menu, attentive service and a solid wine list. Accommodated our daughter’s food allergy well.
I had a wonderful lunch. Nothing to object. The only problem was they didn’t have my reservation but had no problem to have lunch.
Quiet, tasteful environment, good food and very good service.
Visited Lanes of London for our wedding anniversary weekend away. Booked the Botanical afternoon tea with bottomless Prosecco.
Waitress was attentive at first and explained everything well.
Food was tasty as was the choice of tea and we had four refills of Prosecco.
But then our waitress disappeared for 45 minutes and we had to ask for another refill.
Overall a good experience but felt a bit let down on lack of ‘bottomless’ Prosecco!
Waiting staff not great, didn’t know their menu and couldn’t answer questions on ingredients etc
The Sunday lunch was a complete disappointment. I ordered the vegetarian Wellington and was told a while after that it wasn’t available as chef wasn’t happy with it. So I ordered the poussin, as did my friend and it wasn’t good. Too blonde and a bit fatty, no flavour. The sides were tasty but that was it. One friend ordered the beef and it was dreadful- grey, chewy and tasteless; she had to send it back. So we all had Poussin and none of us really enjoyed it.
Thankfully the sticky toffee pudding was delicious- although we did have to wait half an hour for it. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. I had to get up at the end and go searching for someone to ask for the bill- had to enlist help of Barman in the end. The lunch shift definitely seemed to have finished as we were just left! Overall a huge disappointment, such a shame as my friend was here from Norway and I had hoped it would be a lovely high end Sunday lunch. My local
Pub in Surrey does far better!
Delicious Sunday roast. Fantastic service.
Such a beautiful place to have a lovely dinner with friends in Central London. Service was great, staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. Set menu has great choices and food was delicious. Highly recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding if you like an amazing dessert !
i like a quiet restaurant but the bar was busy so there was a good atmosphere. the service was a bit slow but the waiter was helpful when called. one starter was not quite right so they offered us extras which was nice and gratefully received as we opted for sides which i had not checked were missing from the main dish. desert was heavenly and a great finish to the meal.
Casual and traditional menu. Nice location, service was good. Would go back again.
Had a chance to dine at Lanes of London with some friends recently, we had a late booking so the restaurant was pretty quiet on arrival. Service was great to start off with a slight hiccup when the staff (I assume he was new) came out with our starters but claiming they were the mains.. after questioning this he went back to check and then we had another lovely lady come out who Knorr what she was doing and the service picked up from there.
The food was really good although the seabass portions where quite small. The Baileys ganache for desert definitely made up for the mains.
I’ll defo be returning 😊
Amazing from start to finish
Food and service was really nice and great value. However, the place was absolutely dead even in the run up to Christmas. It was a little strange eating in a room with hardly anyone else there. But if you want a quiet meal then everything else was good.
Nice place, really central, but lack a little of coziness.
Friendly staff and good food. Drinks are expensive though.
This place should not be in the food service business. Food not seasoned, with the taste of old oil. Food served cold with not much presentation. After complaining about the appetiser which was different to what was stated on the menu. I was given an excuse which made no sense. In essence, there is no love or understanding of food here.
We had their special deal (three courses and a glass of prosecco). The food was delicious and the service was very good. Their house wine at £11.00 a glass excessive.
Nice ambiance and good food. William-Fox kept my water glass full and made a great recommendation for dessert. Overall a very good experience.
my friend and I had a very pleasant lunch and appreciated the fact we didn't feel under any pressure to vacate the table.
The staff were friendly but very slow and not very knowledgeable. The food portions were small, the food didn't seem freshly prepared (in spite of the surprisingly long wait for it to arrive) and was not particularly enjoyable.
Nice looks tho'.
Enjoyed my fish and chips! We shared a lovely bottle of Prosseco
Our waiter was great, personable and helpful. The food was outstanding and presented artfully. The sticky pudding dessert is a great way to end.
Dry limited choice being a vegetarian & no room for adjusting the menu.
Had to ask for clean cutlery which wasn’t a good start.
The restaurant didn’t have our booking & we had to bring up the offer to explain what it was.
Fabulous free flowing botanical afternoon tea.Lovely fresh sandwiches on assorted breads and amazing selection of sweet treats.Orange and khaffir lime jam was delicious.2nd visit here and will be the only place I will go now for afternoon tea in London.Great service from Vanessa x
We went for Botanical Afternoon Tea and the food was delicious with fantastic flavours and very different to other afternoon teas. I have allergies which were catered for so I didn’t feel I was missing out. Very filling and excellent value. Lovely helpful staff. A wonderful afternoon.
Wouldn’t recommend it at alllll, besides the nice employees everything else was really poor the food from starters to main to dessert all was poor and tasteless!
Food selection was good and reasonable value. As TV showing football there was a pub like feel.
My friend and I had a very good experience at Lanes of London. We were very impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the ambience. I will come back and recommend to family and friends.
Called by for a late breakfast last Saturday. Chose belini to have with my breakfast as per the menu only to be told that they don't serve alcoholic drinks to non residents until after 11am. Should state this on the menu. Otherwise it was a reasonably good value breakfast and well made.
Great food, good value for money, attentive staff - would highly recommend!
Afternoon tea with my sister. Lovely setting for a catch up!
