- MMelissaVIPNew York City •1 review4.0Dined on Apr 24, 2025The first time we ordered their food, it was delivered takeout and delicious. We made a reservation before going to a concert on campus. We were the only people except a South Asian family. My friends would say the ratio was good. The complimentary papadums and chutneys were elevated by their presentation in glasses with little spoons in a mini cart. We had never tried some of these chutneys. The puri appetizer stuffed with potato and yogurt topped with pomegranate seeds were refreshing with its cool temperature and sweetness in the crispy shell. The bread basket was abundant with the best garlic naan I’ve tasted in the longest time. The butter chicken and saag paneer were perfect in flavor, quantity and balance of curry to protein. The rice was fluffy and it was great to have edible seeds inside. Other places leave the cardamom and other inedible large spices inside. I wish they gave a bit more rice so we could have it the next day for our leftovers. The mango lassi was also delicious. We should have asked for some. Service was good except for when ready for the check. More people arrived and our server was also the bartender. There was another server that we had to signal. This restaurant was entirely a surprise for its ambiance and food. It felt like it belonged in a big city and it is a new hidden gem on a college campus. I’m sure the word will get out soon and we will actually need reservations for dinner in the future. This is our new favorite Indian restaurant in this area!More infoZayka Indian Grill & BarPrice: Moderate• Indian• Chapel Hill•4.8
