Restaurants near The West Inn Kauai

My wife found a this restaurant’s listing when looking at the area on the internet. The menu was attractive and the location was ideal. It did not disappoint. Very happy we tried the Japanese Grandma’s Cafe.

The food, atmosphere, and service were all great. We had a 7:00 res and were seated at our table by 7:15. Most of the tables around us had nice cushion chairs that looked really comfortable. Our table tucked in a corner did not. Two of us shared the poke stack, the chef’s fish duo, and a hula pie. All was very tasty and plenty of food. The restaurant compted us the pie in celebration of our 40th anniversary. Super nice and appreciated.

This is a great restaurant though we’ve only had breakfasts. My husband came back a second time for the lobster hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately the cook the second time e did not make the hollandaise sauce as good as the first time The poached eggs were perfect as was the bacon.

QUICK REVIEW: Nice view and location, Great service, Cuisine always great. Solid 4.8 Stars. Recommend. YES, we will be back. LONGER REVIEW: We travel extensively, and have been to Eating House 1849 (and Roy's), many times. Decided to come back. SERVICE: Seated promptly at reservation time at a nice table overlooking the ocean. Great view. Jason - our main server - was Awesome. He was there when you needed him, with a great attitude and advice. Nice job! FOOD and COCKTAILS. Had a Hawaiian Martini, Red wine by the glass and a Port for dessert. Wine, cocktail and beer list adequate for the venue. Pork rib appetizer to share, Butterfish and Ahi for entrees. All perfectly cooked, and nothing left on the plate. Very tasty. The lava cake to share at the end - all gone. OVERALL: Eating House is always nice, with a slightly more limited menu than Roy's. We are big Roy Yamaguchi fans, and tonight's dinner was pleasant as expected with all of his restaurants. Highly recommend. Only downside was a screaming baby in the background, but hey - this is a family place. YES, we would go back. Worth the little trek to Koloa/Poipu.

Beach House never disappoints, amazing food, amazing service and amazing location. Beach House is a must when in Kauai, cannot visit without enjoying the Beach House. Don’t miss a drink with Seth and Smitty at the bar, they will start your evening right and are great conversationalists.
