Restaurants near Citadel

This was a great dining experience all around. We sat on the heated patio and it was lovely, quieter out there than in the main dining room. I have a gluten allergy and they were easily able to accommodate my dietary restrictions and the gluten free pasta was the best I’ve ever had. My non-gluten free child enjoyed their regular pasta as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely eat here again the next time we are in town.

This was our third trip to 39 Rue de Jean and it did not disappoint. My husband was torn between the French onion soup (he is a huge fan) and the fried goat cheese salad and the winner was the salad. The big smile on his face said it all! I selected moules marinière - expertly prepared with white wine, shallots and parsley and happily used the lovely fresh bread at the table to sop up the delicious juices. A great way to start the meal. A seared pork tenderloin with pommes purée and fried Brussels sprouts was my husband’s choice and he was delighted. I went with an 8 ounce filet accompanied by yummy fries. As we were staying in a hotel, a to-go bag was reluctantly declined. Excellent food and service… we will be back!!

I didn’t think the food and service could possibly be as good as the ambiance and beauty of the restaurant but it was! The food was amazing. The service was perfect and the restaurant is stunning. Words don’t do it justice. You have to go to appreciate it.

Our favorite restaurant in Charleston. Every meal is magnificent. We celebrate special occasions there so we’ll see you next year.

We had a fabulous experience! Our server was attentive and bubbly. The manager visited our table and made us feel like VIPs. They even came over and gave us a free app since it was our first time! The ambiance was wonderful. Beautifully decorated. I wonderful date night spot or night with the girls. 10/10 we would recommend!
