A favorite Southwest Virginia landmark, The Farmhouse Restaurant has served the New River Valley since 1963. The authentic farm house, originally part of the Ridinger Estate, was build in the 1800's. In the early 1970's, an old train caboose was added to provide a unique dining area. During the past decade, a rustic lounge, additional dinner seats, and a spacious 250-seat Banquet Facility have added to the charm of The Farmhouse.

    Our server was great, and the food was excellent. I had the crab cakes and the sauce was superb. I had the cod for the entree and it was excellent. Beautiful presentation.

    I love this restaurant! The setting is the best in the area, the food is wonderful, and the service is always great. My wife and I always enjoy sitting on the terrace overlooking the RU campus. It's a great place to enjoy a good meal and unwind.

    Have had several exceptional dining experiences that were memorable. Wait staffing service and food selections also a plus. Only negative comment that needs addressing is the pesty flies that circulate around the windows, dining table, and especially landing on your food. Becomes very annoying and questionale why management has yet to address it? Overall, a positive review nonetheless for others to try and enjoy dining there.
