In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

    Your service was top notch! So amazed by the flow of the kitchen to your waitstaff. The woman we had serving us was so great! Food was excellent too! We had a reservation and was seated immediately. Then walked behind the restaurant by the boats. Saw the pelicans and jellyfish. Really a great night. Thanks!

    Aaron was our waiter and he did such a wonderful job taking care of us on the upstairs patio. We had the area to ourselves and with kids that was a huge bonus. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak rolls, meatballs, poblano soup, short rib, redfish, filet and the scallops. All which were delicious except for the scallops that were terribly fishy and needed to be sent back. The kids enjoyed their meal and the cocktails and wine were great. The vibe and atmosphere is really great and the decor is spot on. Would love to go back next time we are in town.

    Always exceptional seafood with great service. We live in Wyoming but any time we are close to Galveston we always eat at Rudy and Paco.

    Outstanding! The service was stellar and the food was remarkably delicious. They even brought us a complimentary appetizer to try; a Wagu slider with a plum bacon jam...Yum and yum! We sat out on the deck which is calm, quiet and the perfect waterfront ambiance. A special thanks to our bartender, Dakota, the Asst. Manager, Austin and our amazing server, Holly for making our evening so memorable.
