Nothing short of EXCELLENT! My favorite is the French Onion Soup, especially on a cold winter evening. Our server, Tommy, was very attentive, yet not overbearing. He kept tabs on us without continually bothering us, just as a good server should. I really like this place and it obvious that I'm not the only one. That's obvious by how hard it is to get a reservation and the fact that the place was packed on a Monday evening after the long Thanksgiving weekend.

The food and the service were great and I appreciated that the kitchen made an accomodation for my garlic allergy. We visited the restaurant two times while we were staying in Kansas City over the last two weeks, it's a great go to when you want something good. A few of the tables in along the back of the restaurant have air ducts that blow right down on them which was a bit too chilly on a snowy night. But the staff graciously moved us since there were other tables available. Might want to have an HVAC guy redirect the air so it's not straight down.

We went to Wandering Vine for a birthday celebration. Great food, excellent service. They made us feel that they were so glad we were there. The building was beautiful inside and out. Food was excellent, portions were generous, to our opinion. We were there where when it was busy so it was very loud. The staff worked through that with no problem. We did get to watch a waiter “wind up” and reset a grandfather cuckoo clock! That was great!

The thoughtfully crafted dishes are a perfect blend of creativity and flavor, each beautifully presented with an eye for detail. The extensive wine selection, paired with expert recommendations, complements the elevated menu. A destination for those who appreciate exceptional cuisine and refined hospitality. We enjoyed our experience at Scratch and wil definitely visit again when back in KS.

This was the first time my wife and I had been to J. Gilbert's and it was a wonderful experience. I had the Kansas City strip; it was juicy and very flavorful; one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife had the crab cakes and loved them. Only one downside in the whole meal; the crab bisque soup was just too salty! I should have sent it back. The desserts were very tasty and presented so nicely. I had the chocolate fudge cake; it was soooo good! Service was impecable! We will definitely be back to J Gilbert's.
