Café Napoli is a family owned restaurant, established in 1989 by Tony and Kathy Pietoso. Quickly becoming a success, they moved the small basement restaurant to a larger location at the corner of Forsyth and Bemiston in the heart of Clayton. In 2003, sons Ande and Kye expanded their family restaurant by adding Bar Napoli, a swank cocktail lounge. A few years later, Napoli Reserve was added onto Bar Napoli allowing for private event space and an additional bar and lounge for the weekends. After years of a flourishing business, Kathy and Tony decided to take their ventures West to Town and Country where they opened their second location, Napoli2, managed by Ande. Kye has taken the reigns from his father and is now the front man for the 8,000 square foot establishment in Clayton. Café Napoli and Bar Napoli have recently undergone a face lift inside and out. Inside the kitchen, Executive Chef from Napoli2 Jon Berger was recently added to the team, bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the regional Italian specialties.

My party was seated promptly upon arrival and water was offered quickly after we weee seated. Minutes later our server, Wendy, arrived to take our drink order and tell us about the appetizer specials. A bit after Wendy went over the dinner specials and gave us some time to decide. We were all beyond happy with our food choices! Wendy was a phenomenal server, efficient, knowledgeable and very friendly, she never rushed us at all! We would all highly recommend both the restaurant and Wendy!

The food was AMAZING!! We are still talking about it days later. Menu prices are very reasonable too. Drinks were great so after dinner we sat at the bar to have a few more. Genesis was our server and she made our experience even better! We have definitely found our new favorite place.

We made a reservation for 4 for my husband’s 40th birthday. I loved the special touch of giving him a “happy birthday” menu!! My husband and I had been here plenty of times, but it was my in-laws’ first time and they loved it! My FIL was a little hesitant because of the cost, but he loved every part of it. My MIL raved about it, from the drinks, to the entree, the sides, and the dessert! Our server this past time was pretty good, not as good as others we’ve had in the past, but still pretty good. I love when they bring out the various cuts and tell us about them. My husband got a free desert for his birthday, and we ALWAYS go with the Grand Mariner Soufflé. It can’t be beat!!! We really love this place. We only go for special occasions since we have 5 kids so we don’t get a nice date night too often, and this place is perfect for that!

Don Alfonso was a pleasant lunch experience with the braised short rib ravioli stealing the show. The bread to start the meal was excellent as was the caprese salad. The burrata was fresh and wonderfully creamy. While I would have enjoyed a bit more crunch to my pizza, the flavors were very good. I split the halibut and ravioli with a friend. The halibut was good but the ravioli was fantastic! I plan to give Don a try for dinner. Lunch was good but I feel like they have the ability to do better!
