Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse.     Went for dinner on a Thursday evening, had to move up my time 3 times and they were very accommodating. We were started promptly once we finally made it to the restaurant. Sat outside and beautiful views of the marina. Our server Kumar was excellent! We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and he brought us 2 flutes of champagne which was fantastic! He gave us great suggestions for food and drink. I ended up getting the fried calamari...it literally came to our table in less than 5 minutes and honestly I think they just threw them in the microwave because they didn't taste fresh and crunchy...flavor wasn't great either...too salty but I asked for some lemon wedges and it helped counteract the salty flavor. I then ordered the citrus mint julep... didn't like the bitterness of it so Kumar kindly offered to make me another drink...I had the S S. Refresh and it was fantastic! For our meal,I ordered the seafood scampi bucatini and it was delicious!!! My husband ordered the filet mignon... he said it was OK. Overall great romantic ambiance and staff and I'd go back again!

    As someone who is gluten sensitive, I was super excited when I saw their menu. Then upon arriving the atmosphere was the cherry on top! A Wednesday night and it was bustling. This told me right off the bat, we picked a great place. The waiter was so nice and seemed to genuinely be excited for me. I never get to eat fried seafood and this was so light a crispy. The night was truly an indulgence!
