Restaurants near Renaissance Indian Wells Resort

I want this place to be successful so share this for feedback and improvement. Lovely setting and has all the right things to make for a great experience. Staff was very attentive. A few things to note: 1. Was nearly empty (3 tables of people when we arrived for a 6:45pm meal) yet they require a credit card to hold a table? This scares off many diners, especially 1st timers who want to give it a try. 2. No happy hour. That helps get people there to try it out and sustains your staff who need the hours and the tips to survive! Rethink this please, at least to establish business. 3. A $44 main entree (Sea Bass & Rice) came with no vegetable. Missed the mark visually and taste wise esp for price. 4. Music. Live music would fit this place well (and certainly there is plenty of room for it).

We had one of the best experiences we have had in awhile. It’s a very pretty setting, sort of indoor/outdoor perfect for a desert evening. Our server Gabby was very friendly, personable and professional. She was really fun. We are vegetarians so we ordered the roasted Squash entree and the Brussels sprouts special side and truffle potatoes to share. Everything was soooo delicious! Deep beautiful flavors and some thought, care and creativity put into their meatless offering. Most restaurants just throw a token pasta on the menu, so this dish was much appreciated.

I was impressed with our first visit to Tia Carmen, especially for a hotel restaurant. While there were not a large number of options on the menu that sounded especially appetizing, the ones I chose (tuna crudo appetizer and Denver steak entree) were excellent. We also had a very nice server who was highly knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list by the glass was unfortunately very subpar and needs work. The charge for valet parking is annoying and distracting (especially since it is so uncommon for this area), and it’s unfortunate that’s the last impression left from what was mostly a positive experience. This place is worth another try in a month or so.

We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Our server arrived shortly after and took our drink order. The chocolate martini was delicious. We were told about the specials and made our food choices. In conversation, it was mentioned that we were celebrating a Birthday evening. We split a salad and each ate our moderate to large portioned meal. Then the surprise desert arrived. Great service and environment. Will definitely be going back
