Restaurants near Plaza Carmel Shopping Center

Beautiful view from the patio overlooking the beach. There was plenty of shade during lunch. Valet parking was convenient. The price was very reasonable for Friday lunch. We enjoyed the menu options. The flavors they combined were delicious. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient.

We had such an amazing time celebrating a birthday. Keyrin was not our server, however she noticed we had questions and was extremely eager and helpful in answering them. She gave us plenty of menu recommendations. One being the Cabo Azul that we got and absolutely loved. That lobster enchilada with the poblano cream sauce was INCREDIBLE. After our meal she even came back to ask if we enjoyed it even though she wasn’t our server. Which we really appreciated. I wish I remembered our actual servers name because she was very attentive to us as well. Overall we had a great experience and will be back solely for that enchilada 😋

Amazing food and service. They really care about crafting a great experience. We went for a family birthday and the quality of food, portion sizes, flavors, presentation and ambience were excellent. We had kids with us and the waitstaff were very respectful and considerate of their needs. The only criticism, if it even qualifies as one, is the pricing. If you go for upmarket items like Wagyu steak, you will of course expect sky high prices, but all of their menu items are at a $$$$ level (think ~$20 side dishes, $30 appetizers). In other restaurants, such pricing would be a turn-off, especially if the food, atmosphere and service were not so good, but Steak 48 does so well on all of these that the surcharge is kind of worth it. The restaurant is now high on our list of favorite places to dine in southern California. It's not an every month kind of steakhouse - this is special occasion, make-an-impression restaurant dining but we will definitely be back!

Tony our waiter was the best and thoughtful and at our beck and call. He went beyond and then some. We celebrated our anniversary overlooking the beach scene. I am so grateful to have chosen Jake’s for our 24th anniversary celebration The Pyros

What a gem! First time, and I had a wonderful meal. We started with the coconut curry muscles, then followed with a share of the knife and fork wedge, which we chopped, tossed, and seved 3 people. I had the crab ravioli, my husband the veal ravioli, and our friend the meat loaf. Homemade and delicious. We all loved our dishes! We will be back...
