Welcome to The Pocket, the perfect place to be. We know, perfect is a big word! We didn’t get here overnight. The Pocket is inspired by two lifetimes of love for great cuisine, culture, fine wine and cocktails, and the joy of discovering the perfect pairing with family and friends. We were both born into the restaurant industry, watching our parents work hard to create beautiful experiences for their customers. From an early age, we both learned that the experience of dining out is just as important as the food itself. When you achieve that perfect combination of people, ambience, food and drink—you are in The Pocket. We’re so happy you found us. Enjoy, Kent IpsenOwner

This is our second time at Anton & Michel's. It was just as great as the first time. The ambience is romantic ... a very beautiful restaurant. Our service was excellent, very attentive. The food was exceptional ... as it was the first time we visited. Anton & Michel will always be our choice to dine at when in Carmel! You are missing out if you have not dined at Anton & Michel.

Made reservations for our 42nd anniversary on Open Table. Made a comment that I would like to have two glasses of champagne and a window seat as soon as we were seated. When we arrived, the check in hostess greeted us with "Happy Anniversary". We were seated immediately by a waiter "in training" and he said "Happy Anniversary" as well. Within 2 minutes the champagne was delivered, and we were again given a "Happy Anniversary" wish. The braised Short Rib and seared Pacific Halibut were excellent! This is not our first time at Pacific's Edge (maybe 13 times over 16 years). We have had both excellent service and food and sub-par service and food. We keep going back because the view is phenomenal. This year, Pacific's Edge hit it out of the ballpark for service and food. The first two glasses of champagne (actually Prosecco) were complimentary.

This was my 1st visit and it won't be my last. I travel solo, so many restaurants that are high end make it difficult to make a reservation for only one person, not this place. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and made to feel most welcome. The service/waiter was attentive, friendly and kind. The food, after tasting each course, was beyond perfect and delicious, it was as if I've never tasted food before going here and then suddenly POW a blast of delicious flavor, perfectly seasoned, perfect portions and beautifully arranged dishes, I am still in awe of this dining experience. The chef was kind and sent out compliments of the chef a delicious vegan soup. I can't say enough positive words about the food, service and of course the beautiful views/atmosphere. I know this will be my new to go to place for dining whenever I visit Big Sur for now on.
