Matiz on the Hill is an excellent restuarant with a great ambience and good Spanish/Latin food. It is good value for money, except for slapping on a compulsory 12.5% service charge which I thought was excessive both in terms of the quauntum and the compulsion. We always do tip but this should be voluntary. Service did slow later in the evening and possibly could be sharpened.

Lovely, but the music was very loud. We asked for it to be turned down, but we’re told it couldn’t be turned down as it the volume was set externally? Shame, as it was very good otherwise.

Bill’s is pretty reliable, and the food was good for my varied family party of five. Service not so good this time; I had to work hard to get staff attention, for placing food order, for extra drinks and for getting dessert menu.
