Restaurants near National University

We had such an amazing time celebrating a birthday. Keyrin was not our server, however she noticed we had questions and was extremely eager and helpful in answering them. She gave us plenty of menu recommendations. One being the Cabo Azul that we got and absolutely loved. That lobster enchilada with the poblano cream sauce was INCREDIBLE. After our meal she even came back to ask if we enjoyed it even though she wasn’t our server. Which we really appreciated. I wish I remembered our actual servers name because she was very attentive to us as well. Overall we had a great experience and will be back solely for that enchilada 😋

Food and service excellent Drinks are a little spendy but GOOD. It is our special occasion go to!

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our supper in this beautiful setting at the Lodge at Torrey Pines. My wife ordered the rack of lamb, which was very tasty and tender. She also greatly enjoyed the stone fruit salad. I ordered halibut, which also was delicious. Many thanks for a superb dining experience.

Amazing food and service. They really care about crafting a great experience. We went for a family birthday and the quality of food, portion sizes, flavors, presentation and ambience were excellent. We had kids with us and the waitstaff were very respectful and considerate of their needs. The only criticism, if it even qualifies as one, is the pricing. If you go for upmarket items like Wagyu steak, you will of course expect sky high prices, but all of their menu items are at a $$$$ level (think ~$20 side dishes, $30 appetizers). In other restaurants, such pricing would be a turn-off, especially if the food, atmosphere and service were not so good, but Steak 48 does so well on all of these that the surcharge is kind of worth it. The restaurant is now high on our list of favorite places to dine in southern California. It's not an every month kind of steakhouse - this is special occasion, make-an-impression restaurant dining but we will definitely be back!

Great service and food. I have had blonde server Lisa? on several occasions and she is so thoughtful and informative. I have food allergies and she goes the extra mile to make sure my food is made correctly. I have been here for great dinners/lunches many times but this time when I went into the restrooms on the lower level by The Grill - it overwhelming smells like sewage. I don't know what was going on but it was awful. Hopefully this issue is getting resolved. Otherwise great experience!
