We usually don't go out for Italian food, as it can sometimes be just cheese and red sauce. We knew this would be better, but I'm always cautious. We were thoroughly impressed. Delicate, balanced flavors. Fresh ingredients. Fun/classy/unique environment. The service was attentive without being in the way. While not an inexpensive meal, I felt it was reasonable for what you get. We will be back.

The decor, which has survived since the restaurant was opened years ago, is great—weird and flashy yet comfortable. The booths enhance privacy or intimacy. We had the beet and orange salad, the clams and mussels, and the lamb chops, with the panna cotta dessert—all delicious and well presented. The wine-by-the glass selection was good and, while pricey, not outrageous. The service was attentive and thoughtful without being overbearing to the least degree. I have never wanted beef enough to pay over $70 for it, however.

We went to Oliver‘s to see some of the pride parade without standing out in front of all the young folk. The surface was excellent. The food was excellent. It was actually so much cheaper than I thought it would be. I am definitely going back there probably at least every other month. It’s just charming and the people so very nice explaining everything. As a vegetarian, it’s hard to find places to eat. I did not find that here. I don’t do reviews, but we had such an excellent time. My niece who lives in California wants to go there next time she’s in town lovely lovely lovely place
