The experience we had at River and Woods was such a wonderful and charming surprise! The decor and ambiance set the tone and everything from the cocktails, challah bread and entrees followed suit. I had the trout and my husband had the chicken. The flavor combinations with the sides and protein were a treat. Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed the 1/2 off a bottle of wine special that runs on Tuesday. The tapas menu did not offer a lot of options, I believe there were only 5 items but we were happy to order of their menu as we have visited many times for the great food and service.

I've been eating at Basta since it first opened. For years it was my favorite restaurant in Boulder. As the years passed, the concept remained consistent - high quality ingredients, great wood fired pizza, and a small, focused menu. However, I may have eaten my last meal at Basta. First, the menu needs help - it seems unfocused and the prices have skyrocketed. Basta was never "cheap," but current prices are insane. Second, the food was good, but just not very memorable. Maybe I'm jaded after so many good meals? Third, the service was good, but just not very warm or personable. Everyone seemed to be going through the motions with little joy or genuine enthusiasm. There was a time when the waitstaff was incredible in every way - not these days. So, as much as I admire Kelly Whitaker and the work he's done with Basta and his other endeavors, I just won't be going back. For NY prices, I need a better experience.

As always, the food and service were very good. The crispy cod had such a yummy crust.
