One of my favorite upcountry restaurants to dine in, Casanova Italian Restaurant has never let me down. We started our meal with a couple of beers, which paired perfectly with the basket of focaccia bread, cut into finger food-sized squares, perfect for dipping into the saucer of the olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixture. Our entrées arrived before we knew it, so busy were we emptying out the basket of bread! My eggplant dish was tender and perfectly cooked in a rich, deliciously seasoned red sauce. There was nary a bite left in the serving dish when I finished. Fortunately, there was a bit of bread left with which to scoop up the remaining sauce at the end. My friend had ordered the special of the evening, which consisted of a generous portion of delicate, flaky, mahi mahi (fish), served with whipped potatoes and a variety of colorful vegetables. Not that he’s picky, but he declared his meal to be the best preparation of this particular dish that he’s ordered there before. High praise! With no room left for dessert, we both walked out fully satiated, with big smiles on our faces. Another home run for Casanova Italian Restaurant! 😊 👍

A great place to stop after watching the sunrise on Haleakalā. Food is excellent and you can get lunch for breakfast (if your body hasn’t made the time change from the mainland).
