Le Yaca comenzó su andadura en un pequeño pueblo de montaña (Courchevel) de los Alpes franceses en 1964. Daniele Bourderau y Gerard decidieron que sería divertido abrir un pequeño restaurante. Cuando los amigos se enteraron de sus planes, les dijeron que estaban locos si pensaban que la gente iba a conducir 8 km por una carretera helada y serpenteante solo para ir a comer. Daniele y Gerard tuvieron dudas durante 3 meses y al final decidieron: "yaca le faire", una contracción de la frase francesa " il n'y a qu'a le faire", que básicamente significa "hagámoslo". Llamaron al restaurante Le Yaca a modo de broma. Pero el nombre caló entre los clientes, a quienes les divertía el juego de palabras, y contribuyeron a los dichos del restaurante inventando sus propios "yacaísmos": yaca y aller (vamos). Daniele fue a Estados Unidos y abrió Le Yaca en Williamsburg. Daniel Abid compró Le Yaca en 2001. Daniel ha trabajado y se ha formado en lugares tan prestigiosos como "Le Pre Catelan" y "Lenotre" en París, "L'Amandier" y "Roger Verge" y como colofón, "Alain Ducasse".

    Fantastic food! Quality of freshness, temperature, the way it’s cooked and presented are all phenomenal. They were especially accommodating to my dietary needs as a Celiac- which isn’t easy. Drinks were made well and so tasty! Service was great!

    Lovely experience! Quite busy on a Thursday night so we highly recommend reservations especially during the busy summer season. We sat at the community table along with some other guests and enjoyed chatting with them and getting to know the community. We will be back again soon.
