The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes.     You must go to the Fancy Fox! Let’s start with decor- absolutely stunning! The most beautifully decorated cafe/restaurant I have ever attended. Food- outstanding! Fresh, home made and absolutely delicious! We had the Afternoon Tea and it was THE BEST I have ever tasted! And I didn’t feel full after- that is always a sign of good ingredients! Service! Exemplary! Kerry was our waitress and the loveliest waitress! So kind, friendly, attentive, polite, smiley! Utterly charming. My daughter has special dietary requirements and Kerry was extremely accommodating to her needs. I cannot recommend the Fancy Fox highly enough. We will be back! Thank you for an amazing Afternoon Tea.

    Very pretty, nice staff, great that they have a gluten free menu and are aware of cross contamination which means as a coeliac I can eat there safely. We will be back very soon. Parking easy and cheaper than in Southend. £2.50 for 2 hrs, great .
