We sat in a booth inside, which was quieter than sitting at a table or outside. (There was something on the large screen TV outside but the volume was too loud and annoying. Some of the tables inside are in a large space and there is a din.) The beer was great as was most of the food. The only exception was the Caesar salad which was quite plain. The other salad was good, and the crab cake and bangers & mash were both very good.

Upon arrival, the staff immediately made us feel welcome, seating our party without delay – a refreshing start that set the tone for the evening. The ambiance struck that perfect balance between elegant and comfortable, ideal for marking a special occasion. The cocktail program here deserves special recognition. I opted for their Smoked Old Fashioned, a masterful creation where the smoky aroma enhanced rather than overwhelmed the rich bourbon notes. The presentation added a touch of drama that delighted everyone at the table. For starters, the Brie Toast emerged as an unexpected highlight. Far from your standard cheese appetizer, this featured perfectly melted Brie atop artisanal bread with subtle sweet and savory elements that complemented the cheese's creaminess. The main event, however, was the Short Rib. Tender doesn't begin to describe how this meat yielded to the fork – it practically dissolved with each bite. The chef clearly understands the patience required for properly braising this cut, resulting in deep, complex flavors that had me contemplating licking the plate clean (I refrained, but barely). Atwater's always has good, fresh food, well-prepared. Their special events and brunch services are always well put together, with competent and friendly service staff. Almost everything is scratch-made (either on location or from their production kitchen a few miles away) and predominantly local, so prices can reflect that.
