- CChadSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoFirst visit. Everything was fantastic. Only issue was that our drinks ran dry halfway through dinner. Waiter was slow to notice and took a bit longer to get the next round. Everyone was finished eating at that point. Would have made the evening perfect had that not been missed.More infoPortico Restaurant - RichmondPrice: Moderate• Italian• Richmond•4.8
- SScottVirginia •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoFirst time we've been back since the COVID debacle where you had to order from a QR code and gratiouty was added. Not sure who decided that was a good idea, but they were wrong. Wife and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. Looked like it was reservation only, which made for a nice atmosphere without ton of people crowded around the hostess stand. Ambiance was great, as was the food and service. We were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed all aspects of our meal. Boathouse at Sunday Park redeemed itself last night and we will be back.More infoThe Boathouse at Sunday ParkPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Midlothian•4.4
- CChrisVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoTook my long-time friend for Valentine's Day. We have never tried 1870. I made a reservation a month in advance because it was Valentine's Day. We were seated on the second floor, the Jewett Room. They only have four tables in the room so compared to the bar area, it was quiet. We had a table for 4, so for the 2 of us we had plenty of room. My date started with a cocktail, "The Mother of all President's", which was fabulous. The service was terrific, special shout out to our waiter Jacob. The meal was perfectly prepared. We both had the 6 oz filet mignon and it was so flavorful and tender. We shared the sauteed spinach and au gratin potatoes. For dessert, we split the dark chocolate tart, which went well with our bottle of Caymas Cabernet. I highly recommend for a special occasion. We heard they have a great happy hour, so we will definitely return and check it out.More info1870 Restaurant and BarPrice: Expensive• American• Midlothian•4.6
- DDr. NatashaWashington, D.C. Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMidlothian Ruth's Chris never fails to uphold a high standard. The GM Christina is super amazing and is very personable with her customers that dine in this five star restaurant. Having conversed with her and know that she worked from the bottom up gives an immense amount of respect for such a diligent and focused work ethic. Zach, albeit leaving soon, is amazing and we know that when he leaves will be just as delighted with the next server on our next visit. This place is very clean, smells great, the chefs have majestic cooking hands, and the food comes out hot and worth every penny spent. Of course this doesn't come cheap, but even on a budget if one were to save or even dine during happy hour, you can come and have an enjoyable experience and even leave with leftovers. The food portions are appropriate to the value. If you're looking to celebrate on an exquisite level whether it is an anniversary, birthday, proposal, business meeting, or just a night out for greatness - this is the place to be and enjoy, because you only live once. - GGregVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoThis is an amazing place - unknown to us before trying on Valentine's Day. The inside space is elegant and inviting, with table spacing that allows quiet and private conversation. Service is attentive but not overbearing, with occasional visits by the manager. Bar drinks were surprisingly tasty and original - we had the Shanes Strawberry Lemonade and Bloody Mary. We tried the Apple Pecan Salad, Shrimp 'n Grits, and Southern Cajun Pasta. If you're a fan of shrimp - both entrees had some of the best we've ever had. They were crunchy, juicy, spicy and plentiful. The pasta dish wasn't overly saucy and loaded with shrimp and fresh crabmeat. We can't wait to go back!More infoSouthern KitchenPrice: Expensive• Southern• Richmond•4.5
