- KKevinVIPAustin •27 reviews4.0Dined todayWe have been here before and will be back again, but tonight was a bit of a challenge. Food was great, and service worked tremendously hard, but they were oversubscribed and understaffed. Come here for the food AND the service, but do NOT do it during graduation week! We had to wait 30 minutes on a 7:30pm reservation that I had confirmed three hours earlier, and there is no waiting area so you are on the street starring in. Coca, Bimi, Fabada, Patatas Alioli, Patatas Bravas, Pequillos Rellanos, and Tocino were all delicious. Wine recommendation was solid and reasonably priced. It is very loud - both in fun and annoying ways - but the atmosphere is pleasant. We will be back, but on a non-grad night.More infoLa MarchaPrice: Expensive• Spanish• Berkeley•4.5

- TTomSt. Louis •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoSkates has been a great place since we started coming there, over 30 years ago. We just celebrated our anniversary there as a nostalgia trip (we now live in Colorado) and the food and service were just as great as always. Great location and great ambience!More infoSkates on the BayPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Berkeley•4.5
- JJoyceHawaii •1 review5.0Dined on Apr 27, 2025Two couples getting together for a casual Sunday lunch and conversation at Akemi. Great Japanese combos and bentos. Generously-sized portions, pleasant and attentive waitress. We enjoyed tonkatsu, tempura, salmon, miso soup and sides (especially refreshing cabbage salad and delicious brussels sprouts!). Background music not loud. Pricier but well worth it, IMO. Restaurant's signage is subtle so be on the lookout if it's a first visit--we initially drove right by it.More infoAkemi BerkeleyPrice: Moderate• Japanese• Berkeley•4.7
