My wife and I have been to The Bay Tree several times now and we always look forward to to going. The food is always excellent. This time, we ate on a Friday lunchtime and we both chose the same. The Asian pork salad starter is my firm favourite and I was so pleased it was still on the menu - the taste is amazing. Our main course was Cajun chicken and it was just superb. Whilst we were there, the restaurant filled up with what I would politely describe as 'ladies who lunch'. I have no real problem with this but the noise level increased very dramatically when about 20 of them all arrived in a very short space of time. I think the high level of noise is largely due to lack of soft furnishings which might annoy some but it wouldn't stop us from booking again.

Great, proper pub. No frills or gimmicks, just good beers and great food. The steak and ale pie was the best I'd ever had. The owner was passionate about his pub and his enthusiasm was very refreshing.
