Laishley Crab House Ratings and Reviews
Went especially for the King Crab bucket special that night, $35. Price was ok but they were not split (server did offer to help) which made for a messy meal. Dinner came with hushpuppies, corn, and potatoes. Food and service was not good enough to make us go back.
the setting is casual and with a great location. Menu is generous and nice seafood variety. Unfortunately our food was not hot and really not very warm. Tasted pretty good. Grouper Oscar was good portion. The chicken Tuscan pretty disappointing. Service was generally very good; could have offered refills of water and tea a bit more often.
I'd go back again hoping it was just bad timing for the cook.
I have gone here in the past and thought it was great. This time the food was OK but nothing special. The fish on my seafood platter did not taste good - a very strong taste. All in all I feel it is way overpriced for the meal we got. I am crossing it off my list.
We were running late and when calling to let them know, I figured we’d just take our chances for a table. The hostess insisted she would find us a space. Our guests were from out of town and were amazed at the great service and attention. All loved their food but one, and it was only because the Po Boy was on a roll that was too much bread for his taste
Laishley's has the best view in town, with their second floor terrace facing the bay. Usually, you expect mediocre food with a great view, but Laishley's has a nice menu of seafood options, both grilled and fried, and a wide selection of sandwiches for lunch. They also offer sushi, but we have not tried it yet. We were happy with the selection, quality and service, and of course the killer view!
Food was inconsistent to not good. Overcooked fish, sushi terrible!!!!, scallops just fine, Soups good, Cesar salad ok, nothing special. Service slow, waiter very friendly, screaming children which we know the restaurant cannot control, but maybe a childrens section could be set up separate from adults section.
Food was just ok. I expected more for an entree in the high $20's. Plating needs improving. Stuffed lobster not only was small, but the rice was a half cup that was dry and tossed on the plate. Grilled veggies was one limp slice of zucchini and one of squash. Fried platter has tough, thick bread crust that was tough and flavorless...had to pick it off. Dessert offering was two items, both uninteresting. Service was adequate only.
sushi was subpar, stuffed lobster was mpstly stuffing and no lobster, watched bussers just shove dish bins into collection location and not even bother to sweep up the food they dropped everywhere, waiter was hard to find when needed water refills, for the "great" reviews i read online, i was sadly disappointed. wont ever go back.
My wife and I both ordered mahi. One of our favorit dishes there.
The fish was so overcooked it was rubbery and tasteless. The mago salsa was mushy and also tastless. Like something was missing.
Left over half the meal. Usually, very good. Was very disappounted.
Enjoyed that there are many creative seafood dishes on the menu to choose from. Haven’t tried the sushi yet but nice to have that option for next time. Service was good. My shrimp pot pie was tasty and fun with a puff pastry crust. And, of course the waterfront view off the porch seating area is great.
Ehh,,, been here before, and had better meals. Disappointed this time. Service wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great and it wasn’t very busy. Both of our entrees had completely undercooked sides, asked for substitutions. There was nothing special about the meal, and any chain that serves seafood would have been as good or better.
For the first time we were disappointed. Usually our food has been terrific. However this night it was an embarrassment since we were entertaining a visiting friend. The service was very slow, the food wasn't presented well and seemed dry and tasteless, I had the Salmon, one of my favorites. Our server was the bartender, who was nice but busy, it took about 15 minutes before she asked for our drink order and then another 15-20 minutes to take our order and then some time before we got our food. However it seemed that she was the only server. Had to flag her down to get the salad that had been ordered. It is always enjoyable to come to the Crab House, it is fun and has a lot to offer in the way of comfortable and interesting surroundings. We will return and hope for a better experience next time. Thanks
We were seated right away, our server Bailey took our beverage order right away, brought our drinks quickly, took our appetizer order, I had the California roll and my husband had the chowder—we were not offered bread and butter, which we found strange because on our previous visits there that was brought out with the appetizers, when we questioned our server about it, she stated it wasn’t customary to bring it out unless the customer asked for it, she said she doesn’t like it to go to waste if not wanted, she did bring it after that, I had the king crab legs bucket, which was one of the specials, they were brought to the table without the appropriate utensils for opening them up to eat them-I had to wait for those to be brought out-approx 5 min-my husband had the ribeye which looked to be cooked as ordered. The crab legs were excellent once I was able to start eating them...
You honored my request for outdoor dining but due to the inclement weather you seated us indoors with no problems.Your staff is excellent= hostesses , waitresses and waiters. Our group appreciates the fact that you let us bring in our own birthday cake. Many restaurants do not do this and therefore we do not patronize those places. We are a group of retired teachers who get together for our birthdays. The Crab HOuse is one of our favorites. Three of our teachers actually taught one of your hostesses. Our waiter was excellent and very organized. I don't remember his name but he did a super job. My husband and I bring our family members to
the Crab House for lunch. It's the number one restaurant on their list. Thank you, Ginny= Pt. Charlotte resident.
