Great place for a Happy Hour, but also a great place for lunch!
Always a fun evening at La Bodega. Be sure to end the evening with a Spanish coffee!!!
Went on a Sunday afternoon date with my wife and the place was awesome. Tapas were outstanding and a huge happy hour menu gets you lots of choices for half-price entrees.
I wish I could remember the name of our server, because she really made us feel at home, provided service when we needed it and didn't hover too close.
In summary I can't think of anything I didn't like about La Bodega.
The noise is a bit too loud, but the ambiance is great! Get the Spanish coffee drink-they light it on fire! The food was good excellent. We like getting small dishs & sharing.
Service was attentive and efficient. Food was fantastic (as usual).
My date and I had tapas and wine on the street-side patio on a beautiful Thursday evening before heading downtown for the Ailey Ii performance. After a little delay getting water, the service was excellent and the server’s knowledge of the wine list proved very helpful as both my date and I tried new (to us) wines.
We made another very nice memory of a visit to La Bodega.
Service was excellent, from the front door to our table. As a Tapas place, they win the chicken dinner. Will be going back fo shizzle.
Helpful and pleasant wait staff helped us make menu decisions. One member of our party has food allergies but the staff was most helpful in finding her appropriate menu choices. The meal was enjoyed by all.
Good sangria but their old-fashioned was one of the best I've had around KC. Tapas tasty but a bit pricey. Nice plating.
The service was terrible, we waited several minutes before we received any type of greeting. Then several more minutes just to get water. The waiter messed up our order and we received some of our order before we even got our drinks. The waiter acted like he didn’t even want to be there. We were a table of two, I can’t even imagine if we would have been a larger party. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will never return.
Just love this place! We live WAY north of the river but totally worth the drive. The Sunday 11-2pm all you can drink mimosas for $9 is a steal! You would not think a tapas place would be "kid friendly" but!!!.. they have a good kids menu and it is a great way to expand your child's pallet past mac n cheese and pizza! They have a great weeknight happy hour pricing that I plan on hitting soon! Fun for families, great for the girls night out.
I got the burger. The bun was stale, horrible.
Positive-sangria was really good
Good food and drunk. Collin provided excellent service. Knowledgeable about his wine.
Even though I made a reservation in advance, it took almost 30 minutes for us to get a table. Not only us but all the guests with reservation around us had to wait. Food is pretty good but it's so noisy on weekend night. Recommend to those who don't mind busy places.
Great experience, love the food and setting!
Had a great time, but it was very busy so service was just a tad slow.
Food was unbelievably good!
My husband and I went to La Bodega for his birthday celebration. Kristi was our server, and she was fantastic. But then again, everything was amazing. The cocktails (I'm a sucker for their caipirinhas), the wine, the tapas, the ambience, the rest of the service staff--everything. We really enjoy going there and would suggest it to anyone who wants to try something a bit out of the ordinary.
absolutely amazing food. incredible drinks. and the best service i've had in a long time. 12/10
We will be back for the pulled pork tapas. It was incredible!
This is a great, casual, fun place to enjoy delicious food that you can't find just anywhere. It's fun to order tapas and pass the plates around the table and let everyone taste/share. The food is delicious and you'll wan to order more. We've always had superb service. We've been here for Sunday brunch, Saturday lunch, after work happy hour and are never disappointed.
Never had tapas so that was a great experience. The setting and service was great. I recommend reserving a table because it was fairly pack.
I can't believe we waited so long to try this restaurant. It was an absolute wonderful evening. For two people, I recommend four to five different tapas to share. We had five because we were hungry. Excellent wine selection and don't forget to try the Spanish coffee for dessert. Quite a show!
Excellent dining experience with our out of town guests.
Eh everything was just okay. Nothing special or Spanish about it actually. If you put basil on a piece of bread and add tomatoes you change a classic Spanish pan con tomate into a bruschetta. Spaniards don’t use basil. A few shaved slivers of jamon Iberico atop cold bread does not constitute a plate of jamon as the menu describes. Braised short ribs were tough, chewy and stringy. And the calamari a la Plancha should be cooked on a skillet. Our came out looking like steamed bits. We were hoping to find our tapa joint, but sadly disappointed. Also check your bill—servers tried to ring up more expensive glasses of wine we didn’t order in place of the ones we did order. Oh and the dates—rock hard, cold centers, and that’s not
Pancetta wrapped around them - it’s just bacon. When we asked, Our server said “what’s the difference?”
Always an amazing place to eat. Wonderful service, great food!
This was supposed to be a great Valentines day dinner date. We arrived when the reservation was set for at 8:30 PM. They had overbooked. Couldn’t even get to the bar for a cocktail. We were not seated until 9pm. They did however put us in a very nice separate room. Where it was quiet. My girlfriend ordered soup. She was brought out a salad. Which was a wedge salad. I did not care for it. The server did replace the salad with the soup. The toppers that we ordered were great. It was the papas fridas. I was a little disappointed that they had such a limited menu as far as tapas goes. The entrées were great. I had the lamb and my girlfriend the steak entree. The dessert was sub par for the standard that I am used to at La Bodega. I had the flan she had the vanilla cake. Topped with lemon. The lemon was overpowering on the cake and the flan tasted like it had been sitting out awhile. It also was covered in gold flakes of some sort. Which when I asked the server what it was. He asked the kitchen. No one could come up with an answer for me. Which I did not care for. For the two of us with tax and one cocktail apiece plus tip it was $178.00. The meal itself was $139 with tax. La Bodega Is my favorite restaurant in Kansas City. However that was the first time my girlfriend had the opportunity to go to the establishment. She was not impressed. Nor was I. It’s a shame that they failed on such a crucial evening. That being said. I will definitely go back. They are generally amazing. I would definitely recommend them to all friends and family.
One of our favorite places! Always enjoyable time.
We took part in the Valentine’s Day prix fixe meal and had a great experience! The menu was delicious.
Fantastic food...made my Valentine's dinner memorable.
At La Bodega, every bite is an explosion of flavor! Amazing!
I did not understand why most people were so loud in there. We couldn't even hear our own conversation while sitting there. Tables were also too close together, thus creating a very loud environment.
La Bodega's -KCMO location has been one of our favorite restaurants since it opened many years ago. We love the tapas and sangria and the raspberry churros. We also love the energy of this restaurant. Can't say enough great things about La Bodega's!
Staff was fantastic, fun & friendly. Food was AMAZING. Sangria...YUM! We had a party of 7 & had to sit next to the kitchen which made it extremely noisy & the TV was right by our heads. We even had reservations several days in advance. Still one of my faves in KC.
Excellent food, drink and ambiance. I always enjoy the tapas and the social dining aspect of this restaurant.
It was great
Great flavored tapas, full body red wine and energetic ambiance
Great sangria, great tapas! The atmosphere is lively (probably thanks to the sangria) and fun. Enjoyed smoked salmon flatbread and peppers stuffed with ahi tuna, and the paella valenciana - all outstanding. Definitely make a reservation. Our table was ready right when we walked in. Parking around the corner was perfect.
Good food, great service & fun times as always at La Bodgea
Great as always
