One of my favorite restaurants! La Bodega offers many uniquely flavored foods and a great ambiance. It's a great place for special occasions, but also just stopping for a quick weekend brunch is wonderful as well.
But Open Table sent me a “no show” inquiry, then a request for a review...which certainly doesn’t make sense!
great selection of beautifully prepared dishes. Very reasonable prices. Such fun to mix and match small plates. Our party all enjoyed the meal
This is our second time at La Bodega in as many months. The food is excellent. There are many tapas dishes to choose from. The chicken paella is a must - PAELLA VALENCIANA. Make sure to order a pitcher of Sangria. Also try the DATILES CON JAMÓN Y CHORIZO. Finish it all off with the Spanish Coffee made with 151 proof rum.
The perfect girl's night location! The service was fabulous and the food is always amazing.
We had a splendid lunch and perfect service from Fabi. Every bite (and sip) was delicious, and Fabi's suggestion to round out our ordering was spot on. Thanks for another wonderful experience!!!
Wonderful as always!
The Sangria was too sweet. The wine in the Sangria was too light. The jar for the Sangria should be glass.
Also the prices were $2 too high for the type of food.
Went on Sunday for a brunch with very limited items to chose from the menu.
Was expecting to have the Paella at lunch on Sunday but needed to wait after 2:00 PM - Going to a Spanish restaurant and not be able to order Paella is not good.
Waited forever once we were seated for water and bread. Our steak was over cooked and the scallops were less than satisfying. The sangria was delicious. The wait staff seemed preoccupied with other tables.
I always like La Bodega, but had one dish this time that was NOT good. (They took it off the bill) It was the short ribs. I would not recommend that.
Always the best! Tequila cocktail just right. Best steak in town. The bread! The sangria! The sidewalk!
The ambiance is fun and cozy, the service was friendly and attentive and the food is always a treat. Our group of 14 was seated in an outdoor alcove that was an intimate setting and space I didn't know they had. We were there for half-price wine night so got to taste a variety from their wine list. My favorite appetizer is the Papas Fritas con Ajo so after bragging about them to our table, I ordered three of them as soon as we sat down. Sadly them didn't come until over an hour into our meal. The crispy garlicky goodness of my favorite dish was such a disappointment. They must have been sitting out for some time because they were no longer crispy or hot and they went uneaten. Still, I'll go back for more.
We found this by accident a few years back. Very impressed with menu and service. When we knew we were going to be in the KC area again, I didn’t hesitate to get a reservation. I highly suggest getting a reservation as this place just seems to get trendier and busier since the last time. Great atmosphere and ambience. We shall return the next time we are in KC area.
Went for girl's night out and had a fantastic time. Great and efficient service; food was excellent. I love the artichokes!!
Wonderful as always!
A GRRRREAT find on Open Table. Really fun spot with excellent tapas, super helpful service, and a fun vibe. Don't let the fact that it's located below an overpass sway you at all, La Bodega serves creative and flavorful dishes with a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Will visit again and again, I'm sure.
Great place for a Happy Hour, but also a great place for lunch!
Always a fun evening at La Bodega. Be sure to end the evening with a Spanish coffee!!!
Went on a Sunday afternoon date with my wife and the place was awesome. Tapas were outstanding and a huge happy hour menu gets you lots of choices for half-price entrees.
I wish I could remember the name of our server, because she really made us feel at home, provided service when we needed it and didn't hover too close.
In summary I can't think of anything I didn't like about La Bodega.
The noise is a bit too loud, but the ambiance is great! Get the Spanish coffee drink-they light it on fire! The food was good excellent. We like getting small dishs & sharing.
Service was attentive and efficient. Food was fantastic (as usual).
My date and I had tapas and wine on the street-side patio on a beautiful Thursday evening before heading downtown for the Ailey Ii performance. After a little delay getting water, the service was excellent and the server’s knowledge of the wine list proved very helpful as both my date and I tried new (to us) wines.
We made another very nice memory of a visit to La Bodega.
Service was excellent, from the front door to our table. As a Tapas place, they win the chicken dinner. Will be going back fo shizzle.
Helpful and pleasant wait staff helped us make menu decisions. One member of our party has food allergies but the staff was most helpful in finding her appropriate menu choices. The meal was enjoyed by all.
Good sangria but their old-fashioned was one of the best I've had around KC. Tapas tasty but a bit pricey. Nice plating.
The service was terrible, we waited several minutes before we received any type of greeting. Then several more minutes just to get water. The waiter messed up our order and we received some of our order before we even got our drinks. The waiter acted like he didn’t even want to be there. We were a table of two, I can’t even imagine if we would have been a larger party. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will never return.
Just love this place! We live WAY north of the river but totally worth the drive. The Sunday 11-2pm all you can drink mimosas for $9 is a steal! You would not think a tapas place would be "kid friendly" but!!!.. they have a good kids menu and it is a great way to expand your child's pallet past mac n cheese and pizza! They have a great weeknight happy hour pricing that I plan on hitting soon! Fun for families, great for the girls night out.
I got the burger. The bun was stale, horrible.
Positive-sangria was really good
Good food and drunk. Collin provided excellent service. Knowledgeable about his wine.
Even though I made a reservation in advance, it took almost 30 minutes for us to get a table. Not only us but all the guests with reservation around us had to wait. Food is pretty good but it's so noisy on weekend night. Recommend to those who don't mind busy places.
Great experience, love the food and setting!
Had a great time, but it was very busy so service was just a tad slow.
Food was unbelievably good!
My husband and I went to La Bodega for his birthday celebration. Kristi was our server, and she was fantastic. But then again, everything was amazing. The cocktails (I'm a sucker for their caipirinhas), the wine, the tapas, the ambience, the rest of the service staff--everything. We really enjoy going there and would suggest it to anyone who wants to try something a bit out of the ordinary.
absolutely amazing food. incredible drinks. and the best service i've had in a long time. 12/10
We will be back for the pulled pork tapas. It was incredible!
This is a great, casual, fun place to enjoy delicious food that you can't find just anywhere. It's fun to order tapas and pass the plates around the table and let everyone taste/share. The food is delicious and you'll wan to order more. We've always had superb service. We've been here for Sunday brunch, Saturday lunch, after work happy hour and are never disappointed.
Never had tapas so that was a great experience. The setting and service was great. I recommend reserving a table because it was fairly pack.
I can't believe we waited so long to try this restaurant. It was an absolute wonderful evening. For two people, I recommend four to five different tapas to share. We had five because we were hungry. Excellent wine selection and don't forget to try the Spanish coffee for dessert. Quite a show!
Excellent dining experience with our out of town guests.
