    Awful. Will not return. Had a 6:15 reservation. Were told upon arrival that it would be an extra 20 minutes. After 45 minutes I had a stern conversation with the manager and got a table. The waiter then came to take our order and at that point told us that the kitchen was backed up and we needed to order something besides sushi (which is obviously what they’re known for and why we went). At that point we left and went to Jun’s in Prairie Village and had delicious sushi from a local owner with great service and ambiance. If you’re thinking about going to Kona… I recommend you reconsider. Maybe even go to Jun’s instead. Because they’re great.

    Didn’t get sat until 7pm and had a 6pm reservation. It was obvious the restaurant was way under staffed. The restaurant was dirty. It took a very very long time to get drinks and food. Then, the shrimp and chicken lettuce wraps did not have any shrimp and the chicken was cold. Waited too long to even say anything about that.

    We had a reservation for 8pm. We arrived at 7:50pm & were told they would get with us in a little bit. I asked if there was a wait? They said yes. I told them again that we have a reservation for 8pm. They said they are busy & there is a wait of about 30 minutes. We did wait 30 minutes. When seated it was over 10 minutes before our waitress came to our table. We quickly ordered our drinks & meals. We did not leave the restaurant due to slow service until 10pm. We ate quickly because we had plans after dinner.

    We had a 7:15 reservation for 2, and were not say until 7:45. Then when we got to the table, there was only 1 chair. So we had to ask another table for a second chair. While we waited for our food, there were so many people waiting to be sat that everyone was yelling over each other. Then, we had to wait another 30 mins for our food to come out, and the salmon was very dry. The sushi was pretty good, although I had to door dash more from my local place when I got home because the portion size was too small, and for a $20 plate of sushi, my local roll for $11 was much better. Our server was very kind and apologetic though, which did sweeten our experience.

    While the food was fairly good and the service was top notch, the food prices were astoundingly high. $37 for fish and chips? Come on Kona...that's ridiculous!

    Our choices were not good. Stir fry chicken not tasty-just blah. Chicken and rice dry. Ribs were good. Outside of our California roll dry. Will not go back again.

    Food was great however the hostess failed to mark my reservation and didn't get my OpenTable points. After getting home I realized she cheated me out of my points I called back to the restaurant to address the issue and kept being left on hold for 30 minutes at a time. We are regulars at Kona Grill and have noticed the service just isn't there any more.

    The hostess station was ran completely unprofessional and chaotic. We had to ask twice for a waitress and the food was three of the worst meals we’ve had in the plaza. Do better.

    We had a reservation and still waited nearly an hour to be sat which almost made us late for our next reservation. It took 15-20 mins to get our first round of drinks, we saw our waitress 4 times the whole dining experience. We had to walk up to the bar to even get a second cocktail. Absolutely not the service expected at a $50+ per person meal, the only thing that made it a remotely positive experience was the fact the the food was great. We will not be returning.

    We arrived at 4:45pm for our reservation. We were going to follow dinner with a concert. Our initial wait for the server was long. He seemed very busy (or just not trying). We finally ordered and mentioned our need to get the tab as soon as we could. The food arrived for my wife and I. My clam chowder was cool and my meatballs were almost cold. We waited another 10 minutes and saw the server. He apologized for the delay and offered them a couple cups of tomato basil soup. We waited another 10-15 minutes and the our friend's food arrived. We got our check and got it paid. The soup never showed. I've eaten at Kona Grill 15+ times. This poor service, cold food and greatly delayed food had never happened. Our out-of-town friends were not impressed.

    We planned a night out with friends from out of town. Our waiter seemed preoccupied or stretched thin from the beginning. We had drinks and ordered dinner. When our food arrived, one person’s meal did not. Twenty minutes after the rest of us were served, our waiter offered a complimentary bowl of soup to our guest, who still didn’t have his food. We asked for the manager and explained the situation. Still no meal and the waiter hadn’t bothered to go get the soup. It was more than 30 minutes after the other meals were served that the soup and the meal were served. The manager comped his meal and added a $30 credit to the tab. No one seemed genuinely sorry for the situation.

    I made a reservation for my company office dinner a month in advance and they were not able to seat our group of ten together. It was extremely disappointing to be separated for our special evening. You could tell they were short-staffed and those who were working were overworked, burnt out, and lacked enthusiasm. Food was standard. They also ran out of wine glasses so we drank our wine out of lowball glasses- not the experience I was hoping for. Tiffany our server did make up for our disappointment by offsetting the costs of the cold appetizers and comped dessert, which was generous.

    Exceptional good food. The sliders are better than the burger. The appetizers are excellent.  the butter cake is a perfect dessert.  Experienced good and kind service, but the food does come slow.

    For the price, it wasn't really great. People were nice but the overall vibe wasn't worth the price. Also the worker at the front desk was wearing slippers and was on her phone when she took us to our table.

    Restaurant was dirty - entry way, bathrooms were especially gross. Trash was overflowing and no toiletries had been restocked. Food took quite awhile and was mediocre for the price. We had no alcohol and 5 adults. Our bill was $200. We could have gone to several other restaurants and had much better food, better environment and service. It had been a while since we ate here and now I remember why. Last time.

    Super expensive dinner for just "alright" quality of food & we had to wait over 45 minutes after our reservation time to even get seated. At first I thought it was simply because it was Thanksgiving night, but although the 3 hostess' were polite, there was absolutely no organization & it was a complete circus up there & many customers were getting frustrated with the mess they were making of the reservation list. Our server was very good & stayed on top of refills for our party of 3. Overall outcome though is that we won't be back to Kona Grill.

    We booked a reservation and went to the restaurant on Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful experience! Everyone in the family loved it. We ate then watched the plaza lighting ceremony. Highly recommend!

    The Thanksgiving dinner was highly overpriced and didn’t taste that great. The soda was very flat too. Our server was very sweet, but didn’t check on us that much. We all needed refills on drinks and waited a long time for them. We weren’t very satisfied with the restaurant.

    I was disappointed with this restaurant. It's always been busy and the reviews spoke highly. Our food was mediocre at best. We had some of their specialties and were not impressed. The dessert my son received for his birthday was delightful, as were the drinks we had. The noise level would have been perfect except for the drunk people at the bar-yelling and cursing.

    I booked the Kona for a specific mean event. I was happy with the venue despite having to wait for table to be ready even though we had been in consistent communication since booking 3 weeks ago. Food was awesome and hot. The service was somewhat hit and miss. Had to remind the waitress about orders several times on not he food and drink. Bar the service downsides I would use this place again as food, quality and value was high.

    What a fantastic experience! I joined a few other military friends for Veteran's Day here. The food was glorious, the service was some of the best I have ever had. Just all around great time in this place.

    We are 2 adults and 2 kids. Our total was $300++. This was not our 1st time to eat there. It certainly did not feel like a $300 meal. We were surprised. We look at prices when we order food. What we ate was no $300++ meal

    Got there and it was totally empty. Spent 90 dollars on horrible food and such small portion sizes. My sushi roll had a piece of sharp plastic in it. Don’t go here it’s not worth the money! I would rather spend that much at fast food.

    The food was decent, but should be about 2/3rds of the price. The food doesn’t match the fine dining prices. However, the server was very skilled and charismatic. Furthermore, the butter cake was the best I’ve ever had.
