AJ was amazing and made our experience so so wonderful. We came back again the next day and had a different server who was also great. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for putting up with us swifties!

Brunch at Kingfish was a perfect start to our trip! The staff was so friendly and had lots of suggestions of what to do in the city!

Po Boys are not my go to so I can say anything about them except the bread was good and serving was bigger that I expected. Fried green tomatoes and beet salad was amazing. The Pimm’s cup was not my favorite. Server was great.

The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. We would have stayed longer and spent more money, but due to our server, we chose to leave. We had reservations later on a Monday night. Resturant had great vibe, and was not empty, but also wasn’t busy. We waited for 10 minutes before our server even came to our table. Our server got us water, and then proceeded to fold napkins and talk to coworker in our direct line of sight, before ever taking our drink order. After 15 min of chat she came over and asked, “what you want?”. In a resturant this lovely, why would you speak this way to anyone. Once our drinks were ordered, they sat on the bar, again because she was talking to coworker. Bartender brought drinks with a lovely smile and was kind. No waters filled. We had to flag her down to ask more than once for water refills. It wasn’t that busy, there were only 5 tables at this hour. When she brought apps she gave one of us a stack of 2 plates and then dropped the dish on the table hard. She seemed miserable, and it absolutely affected the service. I wish we could have left happier. This was a bummer, since everyone else working there seemed lovely and happy. The Chef even walked by and asked how food was as he was leaving for the night. Again, the food was delicious.

Came here a week ago and enjoyed everything. Not so much this time. First my wife’s egg was overcooked and my Kingsfish and grits was absolutely flavorless and even salt and pepper didn’t make it better. Thought some sort of discount would have been given considering we barely ate anything. But no, all we got was “Oh I’m sorry the chef is on vacation and some guy who does FOH and BOH is back there and he’s not that good of a cook”. So we paid our full bill and left. Probably won’t go back again. Even though we really like the hostess.

Kingfish Kitchen and Cocktails in the French order redeemed our seafood experience here in New Orleans. we’ve had some and even experiences here in NOLA and got a recommendation to try this restaurant from a friend back home. When we got to the restaurant, we entered into what appears to be a small bar area, but then we were taken around to a dining area tucked behind the bar. This area had its own little bar, exposed stone walls, and lots of photography. It made for a well lit, but intimate dining room. My companion ordered the Mint to be Spiced Mojito I tried the Gardenhead. Both drinks were well balanced with all the flavors in the descriptions tasted in every sip. My companion ordered the seared scallops with fettuccine, which was the dish recommended along with the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which has a crystals, hot sauce based gravy. the scallops were perfect well seared yet buttery and complemented by the Cajun spiced fettuccine. I had expected this scallops to be overpowered by the spice and they weren’t. It was an amazing bite when I ordered my shrimp and grits. I was concerned they might be too spicy because I like spice, but I don’t eat hot sauce. I really enjoyed my dish again. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. They were tender tail on shrimp that had started to pick up the flavor of the gravy. The gravy itself had a medium heat with a bit of a slow burn, but also captured the flavor of the andouille sausage that was part of the dish when the heat got a little bit much a bite or two of the grits mellowed out my mouth making me wanna dive back into those spicy bites. Kimani was our server. Her bright personality made interacting with her fun. We appreciated her suggestions and requests for feedback at the end of the meal. I highly recommend trying this French Quarter restaurant the next time you’re in New Orleans.
