Kingfish - New Orleans
We had a great time at kingfish when we visited NOLA the weekend. My ten-year-old daughter asked for a kiddie cocktail, she was served a beautiful mocktail with strawberries and blackberries.
Service was the worst. Waited over an our for food and almost 40 minutes for drinks which were horrible.
Always an excellent meal, great service, great atmosphere at Kingfish.

The food and drinks were really delicious and our server was very nice, but the service was unacceptably slow on the night we visited. The waitress apologized several times and it didn’t seem to be her fault, we guessed something must have been happening in the kitchen.

Our waiter was rude. The table next to us ruined our experience because they were ridiculously loud. Told waiter they were obscenely loud and his short response was “nothing I can do about it”. One of the meals wasn’t good and the waiter was quite ambivalent about it. Don’t go.
After I became a senior citizen we learned to arrive early, and enjoy the Happy Hours. Our Happy Hour time at the bar was a hoot ...great conversation with the Bar Manager, and other patrons. There was a shift change, We paid our Bar Bill (delicious Sazeracs by the way) and moved into the dining room....there after we felt rushed. WE were halfway into our delicious and unique Nachos appetizer and our Salad arrived????? WTF there is never a need for this, we have felt this in other New Orleans establishments and never returned. We fell in love with The Kingfish Bar back in 1998 when The Piano Bar existed, you introduced me to the Sazerac and Bitters and all ....so the jury is out on the Dining Room. The Kingfish Bar is one of my favourites, and we will be back. The finest Cheff's in New Orleans never ever rush Patrons...that is why Emeril Legasse and others won the battle.
Rona, We are very glad that you had a great time at the bar during happy hour, but saddened that your experience wasn't the same in the dining room. We try to step up the service when our guests move from the bar to a table, so this is unacceptable. We would never want to rush one of our guests and proper coursing and never rushing guests is a huge part of our philosophy. We will address immediately. Great food, upscale ambiance but pretty noisy (not atypical of a Saturday night on the Quarter)
We had a party of 9 for brunch. The service was exceptional and the food was extraordinary! The eggs Benedict was delicious as well as the French toast and risotto. Every dish was enjoyed thoroughly. Will be back next time we are in NOLA!

Very good looking establishment with excellent food and a New Orleans style menu.
The food at Kingfish is excellent. Innovative combinations and well prepared. The menu could offer a few more choices and they're a little inflexible on swapping out sides but okay. Their drinks and desserts are terrific. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. At our most recent visit we were meeting another group. They arrived first and checked in. We arrived very soon afterward and specified that we were meeting another party through an Open Table reservation. Despite giving the name on the reservation, we were seated in a totally different area and didn't see our friends for over 20 minutes. Other than that, great visit.

food and service was good. I had the wrong impression about the new Orleans dining week and happy hour. we chose to stay in main dining room for lunch, but wish it didn't matter where you sat
Very disappointed. Ate there a few years ago and it was good. This time the food was underwhelming. The service was poor - and there were only three tables occupied. Prices were high.
This is always my ‘go to’ restaurant in New Orleans. Always great food & service!
First night in New Orleans, and it was a great choice. Food and cocktails were memorable, very good flavor. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Would recommend.
Service was great, however while eating I was greeting with a mouse running through the restaurant, which made me sick to my stomach. And you would think because of that the manager would have colored something on our tab and they did not. I was so grossed out.
We went solely for Happy Hour. Food and drinks on the HH menu were great!!

My husband and I are New Orleans locals for 30+ years. We have dined at Kingfish many times since it opened in the French Quarter. It was a favorite for us, providing fine dining great food and atmosphere. Our most recent visit will be our last. It seems to have changed ownership, or chefs, or both. The live piano was replaced with rock music on the speakers. The service and food was terrible. The servers never checked on us to add more water when needed, or even to ask if we wanted more wine. We waited about 45 minutes between the appetizer and the main course. Someone brought bread to our table to hold us over until the entree arrived, and still not asking if we wanted more wine or water. I ordered the tasso and oyster linguine pasta. There was ONE TINY oyster on the plate, and a few tiny pieces of tasso. My husbands pork shoulder was tough and dry. The bread pudding desert was cold on one side and room temperature on the other side. We noticed other diners waiting very impatiently for extended periods of time between appetizers and entrees. This place has gone way downhill. We will not be back. Sad because it used to be a fantastic French Quarter dining experience. Now it's a tourist trap. Not recommended.

Not prepared for restaurant week. The experience was disappointing. This is an atypical experience and the restaurant did their best to make up for the multitude of issues.

The food and service was amazing. However while hubby and I finishing last glass of wine. A tiny mouse made an appearance. While food was great the mouse killed it for me!!

Kingfish exceeded my expectations by far. I went to a late dinner alone in hopes of celebrating my birthday while in town for business, and every single staff who saw me wished me well. Bartender Tim was so lovely and made recommendations for other places to visit. The gator grillades was also absolutely amazing! Thank you for such a pleasant experience!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and wanted a very nice restaurant for our last night in New Orleans. The website makes it appear to be a fine dining, white tablecloth place. As it was across the street from our hotel, it seemed the ideal choice. So we got all dressed up for a night of fine dining in a romantic atmosphere. No white tablecloths, no dressy attire. Most people were in shorts. It truly is an upscale bar that serves food. But more importantly, the service was amazingly slow and the restaurant wasn't even busy for a Saturday night. The drinks were terrible and the food was mediocre. Very disappointed with this restaurant. We would not recommend

I went with a group of 8 for dinner. Server was doing a good job, drinks took forever to come out. Manager apologized, admitted they were not meeting their “standards”. The server assured us it was just the bar ( which was not that crowded). Then the food came out finally (it took awhile) and 3 of the dishes were cold. We had a reservation for 730 , by time were finishing our meal they were turning out lights and the manager even left right in front of us. The food tasted ok, but I hope they get their service and management issues sorted. Based on my experience I would not recommend

My husband and I were visiting for our 20 yr Anniversary and the service was excellent. The decor, the atmosphere and the food was delicious. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of New Orleans!!!!!!!

Excellent food and service. Ate at many high end restaurants while in town, this by far was the best food and best value. Shrimp and grits were amazing and our server Katie was so sweet and kept the drinks flowing during the brunch. Would recommend this to anyone!

The beet salad and the spicy fish soup (a special) were both excellent and made for a fine contrast. Good wine selection by the glass. LaDonna's service was friendly and attentive, especially in getting me my wine promptly. Due to the storm, the restaurant was quieter than usual, but as always nicely informal.

We visit New Orleans twice a year for a long weekend. Kingfish is always one of our stops- either lunch or dinner. This is the first time we were disappointed. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was quiet.Service was on point; the food was not.
Worst service, very slow. When the apps came, our mains came quickly after. I sent them back so we could enjoy our appetizers

I absolutely love this place. Always awesome place to go to for really eclitic food and spirits.
