We walked in on a Tuesday night, right at about 8:00 for our first time at Kayo’s. The person who ended up being our server in the end seated us and got us going with drinks. I got a Bullet old fashioned and it was really well made. We ordered the clams to start off and they were fantastic. They also brought out some bread and the amazing smoked salmon mousse! The second course was a cup of their French onion soup for me and a cup of clam chowder for my boyfriend. Both were superb! The cheese on my soup stayed melty and part of the soup for every bite and my boyfriend was excited that every bite of chowder had clam in it but not too big or too much. For dinner I got the lobster tail cioppino and my boyfriend got the Kobe burger. I wasn’t as ecstatic about the cioppino, but to be fare it is one of my favorite dishes and I’ve pretty picky about how it’s done. My boyfriend said he liked the burger but the only down side was the insane amount of arugula on it. So full we opted out for dessert. The service was very prompt and professional all night and the busser had wonderful table maintenance skills! Dirty dishes were removed right away! Overall this was a great experience here and we will be back!
Great appetizer selection for happy hour! I would go there again for certain.
Good selection of meat and seafood dishes.
The staff was very friendly and competent.
Reasonably quiet and roomy.
Talked with one of the owners who thanked us for dining with them.
I appreciated his interest in our experience.
Our host was kaysen. He was a real gentleman and acknowledged our 37th Ann. He comped us on one of the desserts ( nice touch) wait staff was very polite and attendant. We will be back soon.

Excellent- as always!! Food is reliably good, service is always good. It’s our go- to place for a meal and are never disappointed. Filled with locals who know where to eat in Bend!
First time experience and it was great. Ordered a steak dinner and well worth the price. Excellent service. A bit noisy, so conversation at our table was difficult. However, as the evening progressed and some of the "noisier" parties departed, the dining experience improved considerably. Pricey, but well worth it.
Although we did not take advantage of their Happy Hour, it looked to be very popular, and the menu looked appealing and very affordable. We will definitely be back to try it.
The menu was varied and food was great! The wait staff friendly and accommodating. The wine list was more than adequate.
Excellent food and service! Our table had everything - seafood sampler (crab, prawns, seared ahi) popcorn shrimp (actually crawfish), clam chowder, NY steak, filet mignon, ahi, homemade ice cream sundaes and brownies. Everything was delicious! The servers were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend eating here.
Great seafood! And in Bend, no less. The crab encrusted halibut is a must try! Be sure to ask for the specials of the day, and for items not listed on the menu.
Great old school dinner house with lots of fresh seafood, great steaks, and extensive menu. Good wine list. Reasonable prices for what you get.
As always superb food and amazing service. Never disappoints and always a treat
We love Kayo's. Always great food. Linda is an awesome server(attendant). We are never waiting for food. She pays attention to detail and is super friendly.
We always love this place. The service, food, and ambiance is always excellent.
We were visiting Bend for my fiancee's birthday and Kayo's was recommended to him by a friend. Reservations were easy to make and even though we arrived early, they seated us immediately. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, which we loved after visiting many packed and loud breweries! The servers were attentive and extremely helpful with any questions we had about the menu. The food was exquisite and prepared exactly to order. The waitress even gave my fiancee a birthday dessert, even though it was a couple days passed.
Once again not disappointed in dining at an old standby.
Enjoyed Kayo’s! We went for a quiet week night meal, nice fireplace, tables well spaced, food was very good ... service was great. A new fav in Bend.
We had a great dinner at Kayo’s. The service and food were top notch. We’ll be back.
The food was amazing it tasted delicious and was well worth the money, having said that our server was Megan and basically ignored us the entire meal. I realize we weren't dressed super fancy but we have plenty of money and are usually good tippers. It took so long to get our bread I didn't even think you had bread before the meal. I only figured it out when the table that sat 20 minutes after us got bread. I had to ask the bus boy for a refill on my drink. The table that sat after us got their food 15 minutes before us. My wife got a baked potato with her meal and didn't get anything that went with the potato till after she was done eating. We saw Megan a total of maybe 5 minutes the entire meal and felt like we were beneath her to serve. Sadly because of her we will not be returning
We went to Kayo's in the old-days for a special night out. the quality of the seafood and steaks are still very-high, and is ked to perfection...and I am picky about good steaks! A quiet and cozy place for a nice meal and good drinks. Far superior to the "fancy" restaurants on the river, North and South of town. If you are a local, you know who I mean.
Steak was tough, fish was dry, food was way overpriced. Server was nice and ambience wasn't bad. But the food was not work more than 12 bucks a plate. Too bad we payed 30+ plate.
When we arrived at the restaurant it was closed. We were on time for the reservation.
Food was very good service was above and beyond. This beat the other I have tried in the area by far will return
I took my wife here on date night and we were not disappointed. We had the 16 oz prime rib and it was delicious. I look forward to returning and sampling their sea food next time.
The food and the service was great! The wine selection is good and the full bar is added bonus.
Absolutely excellent! Mostly local crowd...great relief from the tourist congestion and yuppie prétention of downtown Bend. Great food and friendly service.
My mom has come many times and loves this restaurant so I am assuming it was an off night. For starters we got put close to doors to outside as they claimed other table were reserved. However, many stayed empty for a good hour and a half. Then our server as we ordered the soup of the day decided to let us know then at 6 pm that they were out of it. The server never asked how we wanted our steaks done which eventually led her to admit she was new and didn’t realize she was suppose to ask that question. She was very sweet and actually gave us the prime rib on the house. Overall, I was disappointed since we were taking my friend out for a birthday. It will be some time before I return. If the owner reads this please don’t put a new untrained server on a Saturday night unless she is shadowed by an experienced server.
Sadly our dinner on New Years Eve did not compare to our recent great experience. I had talked up this place to our friends as a solid great meal. I was disappointed with the special limited menu and what seemed like inflated pricing for the holiday. I may return due to our previous good experience but not on a holiday.
We went to Kayo's for a special ocassion and were very disappointed in everything but the food. We were sat at a table where there was constant traffic going by and the light overhead was so bright, it hurt my eyes. I asked the hostess if they could dim the lights and she tried but couldn't. I mentioned it to our server and he unscrewed the light bulb. Our server was adequate but not really friendly and never smiled. The worst part was the loud awful Christmas music playing and it was 4 days after Christmas. Again, we mentioned it to the hostess and she said she couldn't change it. The bus boy, who was very nice ,apologized and told us that the owner insisted that they play the Christmas music through New Year's and they were sick of it to. Our special night out was anything but special because of the lack of ambiance.
An old fashioned steak and seafood house. Nothing more or less. There are menu items for most tastes. Our table ordered ribs, steaks, prime rib and rack of lamb. All were good with the New York seeming to get the most raves. The prime was a little underwhelming with not quite enough marbling for my taste but still give it 4 stars.
Overall a great meal and experience and a locals favorite for over 30 years!!
Perfect! The food was great and the service was amazing! Able to accommodate our reservation on the same day.
I reserved a table for a business dinner, asked them to place the 4 of us in a quiet area, and they did. The service we received from the moment we walked in the door was outstanding. The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and respectful. The food was delicious! A great experience all around.
We went to Kayo's for Christmas dinner and the food and service was great. Would go again.
Service was great and the food was also. A little loud, but that was due to several large tables with kids. Other then that it was great
I was very disappointed in Kayo's. When making the reservation I told them that it was my husband's special birthday. Nothing - no acknowledgement whatsoever. Noise level was very high - lots of families with loud children. In fairness, this was Dec. 16th so I guess there were families celebrating the holidays. The food was good - I had crab cakes and my husband had halibut fish and chips. I felt the prices were a little out of line for the menu choices. Our server was very good and pretty attentive. Actually, the young man who filled our water glasses was a little more attentive always asking if everything was okay. I think we just expected a little more of a quiet place for dinner.
We gave it a 3 star instead of 5 because my wife's prime rib was far from tender. If there was a 3.5 rating we would have gone with that. Otherwise it would have been a perfect evening and worthy of a 5 star. We won't hesitate to give it another try because my meal and our other food was great.
Busy but not chaotic. Server was a bit tired but game. Excellent steak and lobster. Chanterelle mushrooms were a bit wet but a nice seasonal touch. Excellent Malbec. Tasty pumpkin/Baileys pie. Any place with abalone on the menu I like.
We reserved a table to us for Thanksgiving. We were seated by the door, entry to kitchen. So much pedestrian traffic that it was annoying and cold because of the door opening. Service that evening was not good. We ordered the halibut special - it was over cooked, dry. This was our third visit and very disappointing. It will be a while before we go back.
#10...as always! food, service, atmosphere - superb as ever.
Bethany & Megan were terrific (missed Linda :<(
My Boyfriends Dad was turning 95 and we had a celebration at Kayo’s. Linda waltzed us in with great service and special care. “Bob the “birthday boy” loved the fact that there was lobsters to be offered and ordered and enjoyed every bit. It was a fun evening.
Food, service, cozy. Our favorite “watering hole”
GOT IT ALL‼️
Linda’s THE best. 😘
