Kaiser Grille - Palm Springs
Go all the time, always good
All great - thanks to Sam, Mark, Hugo and all. Food is good as is the service and the ambience.
We were there to celebrate our 16th Anniversary! We had a wonderful meal
The food and service was terrific. The servers are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. It's a nice spot to enjoy downtown Palm Springs.
The food and service was excellent. The remodle is beautiful with one exception. The bathrooms really need a remodle!
The service was very attentive. A nice variety of food to choose from. We did not sit in the main dining area but looked very comfortable. The only negative is that a couple of pesky flies hung out at our indoor table.
Best vegetable beef soup I have ever eaten. Also the Rustica pizza was excellent! A must order again combo my next return.
The food was good as usual but I feel the lobster was undercooked.
Excellent as always! Delia, our Server, was a delightful young woman!
we were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary we had reservations at 8 and arrived about 10 minutes early and they were able to seat us. we requested to be seated facing the street but they had no table available however when a customer left a very nice table they allowed us to move to that table the waiter was great the food was great we will definitely come again
Wasn’t seated quickly..waitress didn’t know what a Malibu & pineapple was when ordering drinks ..but food was good and came from kitchen quickly ...little overpriced but overall decent experience
Location in Palm Springs is ideal for watching the sidewalk and street action. Food preparation could be better. My dinner did not include what was ordered and I waited too long for replacement. A little too pricey as well.
It had been a little while since we had been to Kaiser Grill, however the time seemed to be right...early, season is slowing down, and a good time to enjoy a nice relaxing lunch on our favorite corner of the world! Edson (our waiter...correct spelling!!) was right there to make sure our expectations would be fulfilled and they certainly were.
They offered a wine special for $17/750 ml and we pounced on that great NAPA Chardonnay...nice and buttery, mild oak with good flavors. We'd come back just for that and probably will! The Salmon Salad is my favorite and I was not to be disappointed...cooked just right! My husband had the Pomodoro with marinara and tomatoes, also very good but I would have added a few veggies to make it more interesting.
All in all it was a great way to do lunch in our beautiful Palm Springs and we have a lot of history in this very restaurant too!!!
I brought my parents for lunch all the way from San Diego for a special Father's Day lunch and we were amazed at how delicious the food was! The service was great and the menu was very interesting. We had a very enjoyable time and I would highly recommend this restaurant - you won't be disappointed!
Kaiser Grille has awesome pizzas! Great servers, too! Very attentive to one's needs.
It had been a few years since we were at Kaiser Grill for dinner, and it has changed quite a bit. The food was fine (we both had different types of steaks which were well seasoned, tender, and cooked perfectly). The service was very good.
But really we felt like we were dining in a upscale expensive Denny's. It is not a gourmet restaurant. Formica tables (no tablecloths), tile floor, very noisy. Very little ambiance. Patio dining was probably better but it was one of those 110 degree days so we chose indoors. And for two of us, the dinner bill came to $185 (that included tip and a $45 bottle of wine).
There are other much better restaurants in this price range (or lower) in Palm Springs (Spencers, Tropicale, Trio, Johnny Costa).
Stopped at Kaiser Grill for an early dinner before a movie. We hadn't been there for sometime and don't know why. The service was great, the menu was expansive and the food, excellent. It's moderately priced and good value. We will certainly be back next time we are in the area. You certainly can't go wrong with this restaurant and I'm certain you'd be happy.
Palm Springs Restaurant week is a great time to try something new. Kaiser Grille is a nice downtown restaurant with great street views. Food is very good and with the special pricing this month a good value.
A large group of friends came to celebrate my husband’s bday and all loved it. The cut of meat was sooooo good
Meh. Its a cute place and service is great but I'd fire the chef and start over. Bland, unimaginative, just not good.
This is my first post because the food was so bad. 4 of us got items off the "specialty" section of the menu, all 4 were awful. My curry was so tasteless i didnt eat it. Nobody had a dinner with flavor, just bland slop. If you really like food, don't go here. The people in the kitchen have no idea how to cook.
Cocktails and service were excellent. Food was just OK. We ordered two salads; one with steak and the other with chicken. The chicken was dry and tasteless. Also the bread in our table’s basket was quite stale.
Food was excellent, but the service was slow, and our waiter seemed less than enthusiastic
Good food and good service. We were a party of 6 and were seated on time. The rack of lamb was excellent as was the chop-chop steak. All round good experience and I would visit again next time I am in town.
Family visiting. Wanted something healthy while being able to people watch as well. Menu suited everyone.
Drinks were horrible. My food was good. My husband's smelled ridiculously fishy.
Continues to be one of my “go to” restaurants in Palm Springs. However, while the service staff (except for host) is very good and is the main reason we return (especially Carlos and Juan) - the overall cleanliness has gone down while their prices have gone up. In fact, they are now higher than most other local restaurants for lunch. My biggest complaints remains the dirty patio chairs and the filthy menus. I don’t even want to touch the paper menus, they are so dirty. They have laminated a few of the menus, but continue to give out dirty, food stained menus. The menus should be laminated and sanitized after every use - for their staff and customers’ Heath safety.
Food was good. Ambiance is great (I sat outside). I had a small issue with the salad I ordered, the server did more than enough to ensure we were happy - and we were!
Kaiser Grill continues to be one of our favorite places to go for a casual, reliably good meal. And the drinks are outstanding! Friendly staff and easy to people watch from the patio or even through the windows when inside.
Terrible service. Took forever to get food and drinks.
Manager is great
The seafood platters my wife and ordered had no flavor and was served cold. My sons ordered pasta and pizza and they enjoyed their food.
This was a VERY disappointing experience. We had the pork chops which were overcooked, charred, and thin in cut - certainly not the double cut portion described by the menu and waiter. The salad was skimpy and dressing was mediocre. We were not offered bread. The Moscow Mule, I may have the wrong name, was weak with little alcohol. The rack of lamb was described on the menu as a full rack, but described by the waiter as two chops - by definition a full rack is 8 ribs!
Again, a very disappointing experience.
Although I’ve been dinning in Palm Springs since the 90’s, I had never been to Kaiser Grill. I just happened to click on their menu in Open Table one day and noticed they had a nice steak selection at a reasonable price so we decided to give them a try. When we arrived we were seated outside on the north side of the patio and quickly realized we had been put in the section with the a large amount of children and babies. We ask the host if we could move and he sat us at a nice table on the south side of the patio with a great view of the street for people watching.
We started out with smartly crafted cocktails followed by a crab cake and a wedge salad. I’ve learned over the years when I go to restaurant for the first time, try a couple of traditional items and see how they are before ordering an entree. We were pleased with our selection so decided to share one of the healthy portions of New York Strip. It came out nicely cooked a very favorable. We paired it with a bottle of Zin from there wine selection. All and all it was a good experience with a great location.
My only really negative review would be with some of the service. I’ve noticed it as kind of a trend, in California especially. Although they have plenty of staff bringing you bread and refilling your water glass, for some reason service staff has an aversion for clearing. Our empty cocktail glasses sat with our appetizer plates until our entree arrived. I suggested to the waiter it would be nice if they cleared this away before they brought out the entree. It often happens that the server/expediter will bring out your next course and expect you to move your empty plates around to accommodate their not doing the proper job. I’ve made it a rule if I have to clear my place I’m sharing your tip!
All and all I would recommend Kaiser Grill for a meal of value and quality.
Food was disappointing, none of us thought it was great. I had the wedge salad and told them no blue cheese dressing, thousand island instead, and they didn't interpret that to mean that I didn't want blue cheese crumbles on top of the salad. If I don't want that dressing, I don't want that taste, but they couldn't make that logical leap.
I had the soup as well, split pea, and that was way too salty.
my son had the prime rib sandwich, and could barely eat half of it, it was just not good. the fries on that were soggy and tasted bad (old oil??).
my wife had a salmon salad and, while she said the salmon was decent, she couldn't eat the salad, said it didn't taste fresh.
so definitely wouldn't recommend and not returning there.
too bad, we ate dinner in another location and thought it was good, but this is definitely not up to par.
Dinner was delicious! I should have packaged half while I could, but instead, I piggy-wiggied through the generous portion in a gastronomic stupor. My dinner "special" was expensive, but there were other more moderately priced options, eg. the artisan pizzas or burgers. House wine was nice, a popular Napa Vineyard with the Kaiser label. My teenage son ordered the lamb shank and for once, wasn't hungry an hour later. It fell off the bone, as it should.
With all that said, the location and ambiance might trump. The outdoor dining on the main corner of downtown Palm Springs provided the BEST VIBE, an opportunity to people watch or just revel in the hip-ness of being in the center of things. (Hey mgmt, the chairs are uncomfortable. Don't want us to stay too long, eh?) Strongly recommend. (
The food and service were okay, but we were told that we were not able to use our Kaiser Grill gift cards for the early dinner special. Three couples were extremely disappointed, as we view our gift cards as CASH. We also were going to spend a considerable amount of $ on cocktails which would have more than exceeded our gift cards.
One guy ordered a $40 steak that was mediocre at best.
Not sure we will return.
Always great! Beet salad was delicious. Vegetarian pizza. Enough for two to share.
Friendly waitress but slow and very expensive for what u get
I had friends in from out of town, the waitress was very attentive, the food was delicious
