I went for happy hour. Service was decent. Food was subpar at best. Sushi rolls so large in diameter they are hard to eat. Sesame chicken not good and sauce was all wrong. Asked for ponzu instead. Terrible ponzu. I won’t be returning.
We had a nice lunch, after we got past being turned off by the very dirty surroundings. the leather/vinyl bench seats looked so dirty that it was quite off-putting. it is difficult for a restaurant to get great reviews when the surroundings are so unclean and unkempt I wanted to tell a manager, but nobody every came over; so I wrote to the restaurant, and have not yet heard back. We were meeting there before a movie, so it was difficult to change our plans; but the restaurant really has to get a better management with better health and cleaning skills.
Very average sushi - at a premium price
The sushi is always fresh and I was pleased to see that the menu was the same as the Brea location.
Reservations were fine and table was acceptable. We had four people . One person was serve their meal and after 5 minutes or so we had to ask a waiter where the other meals were. They came out of the kitchen in another 5 minutes. The food was tasty and prepared well.
There does not seem to be a dedicated wait person to the table. We did not know who our server was. It was a guessing game if you wanted to get some more beverages or anything else.
Our 3rd and last visit here. Service; "What service ??" No bartender during the day time. An Employee that was just there to collect her check had to make us our drinks and as you can imagine they were awful and had to be sent back ~!! Then we were told the managers would make our drinks. But they never came out of the back office ... "REALLY??!!" They're Short staffed to the point that even the waiter complained about the situation to us ??!! Where do I start ??!! Poor food quality; Restaurant and bathrooms filthy. 3 Industrial strength 1 gallon cleaner bottles on floor in plain site in bar area. Dirty bar counter top with left over food and chop sticks. No wasabi or ginger put on our plates. We actually had ask for this ??!! Even the hosts wasn't friendly. What a shame in this day and age of THOUSANDS of restaurants in which to choose from. What an incredible waste of time and money. Great example of Corporate Greed & Stupidity ~!! We are patrons not the black side of your corporate ledger ...

We thought we would eat here before seeing a movie because we haven’t been in years. Started out with soft shell crab which was gross and served up on a sizzling bed of onions like a fajita. Sushi roll was soft and fish tapas was slimy. Entry wasn’t to bad. We left quickly and both of us felt kinda sick after.
Love the food and our friends love it too! Enjoy the ambiance!
My third visit; each time the food and service has been very good. Large portions and well priced. Three of us had salmon teriyaki and were surprised to receive two fillets instead of the usual one we get at other restaurants. My husband had so much chicken teriyaki left over we had enough for two more meals. I liked that they had a choice of white or brown rice. Although they brought my salad with dressing (I asked for none due to food allergies), they apologized quickly brought me a replacement. When they also had dressing on my vegetables (I forgot to ask how they were prepared), they also quickly replaced them but not before a manager came to clarify if the vegetable sauce or teriyaki sauce needed to be replaced. I appreciated that they took the time to make sure they accommodated my request correctly. Our server, Luis, was very attentive and checked on us several times during the meal.
Overall the service and the food were great but they didn't actually seem to care about having made a reservation. I still had to wait for a seat to be freed up and with that being said they didn't take my special birthday request into consideration either.

The receptionist said they do not accept reservations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Despite having made an Open Table reservation, she would accommodate us anyway. After being seated and fuming about this treatment I asked her to check her computer for Open Table reservations and sure enough my name appeared on the screen. This Kabuki location needs to me educated about Open Table reservations.
I made a reservation via Open Table and when our party of 6 arrived they refused to seat us claiming they were closing. Hours posted on the door said open until 10:30pm and our reservation was made for 9:30. Hostess was extremely rude to us. We took our party elsewhere and suggest you do the same.
Made a reservation for a Sunday evening, only to get there and be told that Kabuki doesn't honor reservations made through open table on weekends. They sat us anyways without a wait, but that's oddly confusing and should be cleared up between open table and the restaurant before making it available online.
Great food. The steak was fantastic. Would recommend it to friends.
I eat here a lot with just my wife and I. On father's day, I needed a reservation because we had 8 people including my father and my brother's family. When I showed up, they said they do not take reservations.
WTF - why do they show up on Open Table as taking reservations when they don't. My father and other are handicapped and if they did not have a table ready, we were going to be in big trouble.

The food was great, service was good, the kitchen was fast getting our food to us, and price was reasonable. Overall a great experience.
BUT beware. Open Table allows you to think you have a reservation at Kabuki, but you don't. We reserved on Open Table and got our confirmation email. When we arrived at our scheduled time, we were told that Kabuki doesn't accept reservations from Open Table. However, they were very accommodating and found us a table immediately.
made a online reservation and they said that even though i received a email confirming it they said it doesn't work on Friday, Saturday online reservations. That was very DISAPPOINTING.

I love this sushi place happy hour is the bomb me and my kids are there by bring friends also for happy hour at least two or three times a week that's how much I love this place compared to others. service is awesome servers are very nice food comes to the table pretty quick love it love it love it
Quality of the food was very good. We received one item that we did not order, and shorted an item that we ordered. They finally realize their mistake (when we told them) and ordered the item we were shorted, but we ended up getting billed for the other item as well.
I wrote it was my bos's birthday but there was no surprise and I asked left over to take out box but there thought away
We went to Kabuki for my dad's 87th birthday and he loved it! The food was delicious and the service was great. They even sang happy bithday to him and made it so special for him. We will go back soon.
It was quiet at the restaurant, but we still had to wait 30-40 minutes for our food to come out.
I made the reservation on Open Table then called to change the time and number in the party. I was told they don't take reservations on the weekend. it would have been very frustrating to arrive at the reserved time with friends only to be told they don't take reservations on the weekends

Maybe it was because it was raining, and had been for several days... but this was a less-than-stellar experience. The food was excellent. But, I was sat at the far end of the sushi bar... which happened to be next to the kitchen. Every 30 seconds, a server would walk by and shout "corner" so they did not collide with another server. And, it was difficult to get water refilled.
As for the food... try the Baked Scallop California Roll. AWESOME! I also tried the lobster topped roll, but it was pretty sweet/rich.
Our server Paul was the reason everything was perfect. He was so friendly and accommodating his timing was so right on.
Usually a good restaurant and location. Few larger parties made the dining room louder than usual. Unfortunately on this night it seemed like our waitress (Laura) great service under the conditions to follow. She seemed to be the only waitress actually working. We frequently saw her working table from the front of the house to the back of the house. As a result I think our hot foods sat around and were cold by the time they reached the table. Even when we requested to re-do the food that was cold service still took a long time. Bad experience on this occasion but a very good restaurant and good food.

Brussels Sprouts were delish. Service started out badly. Server was very busy which I understood. What was bothering is no one considered to help in just greeting my table. A simple hello would have been perfect. Server finished strong though. Stay away from the hot stone cooking. It's to awkward.
WENT WITH THE DINE OC MENU--BAD MISTAKE. 2 OF 4 HOT STONES WEREN'T HOT ENOUGH TO COOK THE FOOD. WAITRESS (JESSIE) BROUGHT ONE APPETIZER, BUT NOT THE OTHER UNTIL AFTER THE MAIN HAD BEEN SERVED. SHE NEEDED TO BE REMINDED THAT THE MAIN CAME WITH SOUP OR SALAD AND RICE. THE SAUCES WERE EXCELLENT AS WAS THE DESSERT. SAW SUSHI DELIVERED TO OTHER TABLES AND IT LOOKED GREAT AND RAPIDLY DISAPPEARED SO MUST HAVE TASTED GREAT ALSO.

This is the second time I made a reservation thru open table and both times, when we arrived, they said there was no reservation. But they were able to get us a table right away.
We all enjoyed the visit. The food was very good. The service was very good. Nobody had not one conplaint.
