Juniper Restaurant in the Vail Valley
Our first time and we found the menu interesting with several items that appealed to us to choose from. I had the lentil soup (my favorite soup of all) and really enjoyed the flavor.....slightly spicy...my wife had the beet salad which was tasty and generous.
I ordered the chicken saltimbocca. The chicken was crispy on the outside but moist on the inside with ham or bacon on top. My wife had the veal which she found tender and tasty. I tried a piece and found it a little bland for my taste.
We plan on going back to try other items on the menu.
Expensive for the quality of the dinner entrees. Staff was attentive and friendly. Decor is outdated.
Very accommodating to food requests
Great food and service
We always enjoy eating at Juniper. One of the best restaurants in Colorado!
Love going to Juniper. Always a treat.
Server was frenetic and impatient .
Did not appreciate a $30.00 surcharge for cutting a birthday cake brought in by us to be served for dessert for 4 people.
That charge in itself was egregious
Restaurant was understaffed which resulted in extremely slow service -- our waiter did his best but dinner still took 2 1/2 hours
Amazing food. Only complaint was the noise level; too loud to carry on a casual conversation.
Best restaurant in the Vail Valley without a doubt. Every thing on menu is always superb. Can't be beat.
Awesome food and service. We have bern coming here since it opened and it just gets better.
As someone who has lived in the Vail Valley for many years and has dined at Juniper on several ocassions, I keep hoping that Juniper will step up to be an excellent fine dining restaurant, but sadly it continues to disappoint. I have had some very good dishes at this restaurant, but the problem is the lack of consistency with respect to food quality and service. This most recent dining experience was a disaster on many levels. First, when my party arrived at the restaurant on time for our reservation, our table was not ready and we waited nearly 30 minutes to be seated. Next, we were told that two of the entrees were sold out, which were the ones that I have tried in the past and knew to be good. We took a chance on the Chicken Saltimbocca and it was frankly, inedible - a mess of a dish that I would not have fed to my dog. An attentive server would have noticed that the people who ordered this dish were not eating it and would have offered them the option of ordering something else, but that never happened so we went home and had a late dinner. There are some entree options that even the Juniper chef can't ruin, like the filet and the salmon and so if you stick with the basics (and they are not already sold out) you should be fine. However, for the price point this restaurant the food and service should be much better. There is a demand for a fine dining restaurant in Edwards, Colorado, but for now the best bet is to make the drive to Beaver Creek (Splendido or Grouse Mountain Grill, etc.) or to Vail where there are several good options to choose from. Juniper is not in this class and in Edwards I would recommend Zino as a better choice all around.
A pleasant surprise in Edwards! We usually eat out in Vail when we are in the valley. However, it seems that the service and food quality can be a gamble. A friend recommenced we try Juniper. It was fabulous! Small, cozy atmosphere. Menu options were great; from trout to pork chops to short ribs. The Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert was delicious! Our waiter was very attentive as well. It is a gem in the valley.
Consistently delicious food and service is always spot on! The owners are always working the room and involved in the meal service and it shows. Best in the valley!
We were appreciative that Juniper did not raise their prices for anew Years Eve
Consistently excellent food and service. We went New Years Eve and the staff was on their game. Highly recommend Juniper.

We typically live this place but it was not good this visit. We think it’s because it was around the holidays and so busy?
Sea bass was inedible.
Generally great food but I got a really tough pork chop, which was a special. My bad for not sending it back after first cut.
Fantastic service matched by fantastic food!
Outstanding food and service! Will definitely be back.
Very disappointing. This was my favorite restaurant during last years visit to Vail. I was so excited to share my experience with friends. Service was awful. We had to keep tracking down our waiter. After asking if we needed water we were deserted. Never asked if we wanted cocktails. Ordering took so long we finally had to ask for bread because we saw it being served at other tables. Our waiter forgot. Food was undercooked, under seasoned and not hot. Then they forgot to ask if we wanted desert. Which was actually the best part of the meal. Management seemed just as disorganized, running food and not paying attention to the details and never once checking on us after we asked them to track down our waiter. Not sure what’s happened since last year, but I sure hope they can pull it together.
Always a wonderful experience!
If you want a special night out, upscale yet casual/friendly feel and delicious food. Go to Juniper!
We could not of had a more beautiful experience on Christmas Eve then we had at Juniper restaurant where I proposed to my love. The experience was perfect in every way and I cannot recommend the restaurant any higher! The owner Doug and Service staff could not have been more attentive in ensuring our wonderful experience.
Appetizers and entrees were as amazing as years past but two of the three desserts were just okay.
great seasonal menu...lots to share and taste. excellent pairings with wines as well.
Filets were beautifully cooked. Tuna was delicious as was the salmon and truffle fries. Very slow service and very tight quarters between tables. Lacked ambiance due to the noise level and crowdedness. Food was quite good but overpriced for the portion size.
Awesome food and great waiter! Wine selection was terrific.
Our waitress was a disappointment. I asked her to chill our wine glasses and she refused.
Too expensive for ordinary food
Love the friendly reception and great service! Excellent food.
Juniper is always a fantastic experience. The food is always spectacular and the service is impeccable, definitely a must visit in the Valley
Always consistent, always good.
Great food as always! We had the seared tuna and black cod. It helped that in early December Juniper has 50% off entrees.
We always have a great time and the food is delicious.
We have been eating here for years—-it’s our favorite restaurant in Vail Valley. Last Sunday night we had a reservation at 730pm for a party of 6. We ordered drinks and appetizers and the waiter kept rushing us to order our entrees even when we asked him to wait. A party of 6 is not a 45 minute dining experience. Our waiter couldn’t wait for us to leave, as well as the remaining staff who were mulling around at the bar area. We were in the restaurant for about 90min to 2 hours with cocktails, appetizers, wine, entrees and dessert-not an extraordinary amount of time for fine dining. I wish I could say it was awesome but unfortunately this time it wasn’t. If they don’t want to stay open after 9pm, then don’t take a party of 6 at 730pm.
Excellent menu. Dishes have interesting sides built around the main entree. Service is top notch.
