Juniper Restaurant in the Vail Valley Ratings and Reviews
Over-priced, marginal food in a very dated dining room. We were very annoyed to have reservations and to be seated right next to the hostess stand and front door. As soon as our waitress came I asked to be re-seated to a table that had just left that was not so exposed to the loud throngs of people that had been loitering literally within inches of our table. The owner came over and said the other table was taken and nothing she could do. Interesting when that table sat empty for another 45 minutes and two more groups of people continued to carryon right next to us. After a pathetic argument I finally convinced the owner to move us. After all that our food with $38 entree prices was completely marginal and definitely not worth the hassle. Suffice it to say, we will never be back. There are tons of better, more accommodating restaurants in the valley- do yourself a favor and go seek those out!
For 3/4 of our party the food was exceptional. For our other guest the salmon was not cooked thoroughly. When we told them the salmon was not cooked they took it back to the kitchen and then returned with the same piece of mutilated fish. The manager did not make any effort to make it right. We had to ask to have the salmon removed from the bill. Avoid the salmon. However, Veal scallopini and appetizers were excellent!
Nice looking restaurant but, when full, the noise level is VERY loud (if you want to carry on a conversation, you've got to speak with a raised voice). The food is quite expensive, even for the area, and, the dishes we ordered were mediocre at best. Would not go back.
I heard this was one of the better restaurants and in the Beaver Creek area so we decided to give it a try, having exhausted many other of the regular favorites in previous years. The bread was not worth it , but the salads and entrees were first-rate. I had butternut squash soup which could be the best I’ve ever had had. This chef uses many ingredients in all of his dishes and often in unexpected ways.We were too full to try dessert. The servers were very pleasant, but not as smooth and professional as the menu led me to expect.
I arrived at the restaurant 6:15 pm, within the 15 minutes of tolerance. the host greeted me saying I need to reschedule the table because several times he tried to call me and insinuating that my phone number was not valid.
First I said didn't get any calls from the restaurant and that the only communication was a sms which I replied stating the time that I would arrive.
Also my credit card was holding the reservation under the penalty of $25 per person in case of no show.
Food was disappointing. New York Strip too much fat, and the onion soup way below average. Panera does better.
Does not worth at all. Much better options in the area
We arrived for our reservation and were being seated when the manager came and told the hostess to have us wait. We then proceeded to wait for about 20 minutes while multiple other tables were seated and then our party of five was squeezed into a four person table.
The food was so salty that two of us did not finish our dinner.
We have been to Juniper many times when everything worked out great, but this time was a huge fail and we will not go back for a long time.
Juniper's is always delightful...everything from the fun and entertaining bar,
being greeted with warmth and charm by all the staff, the best menu in the
Valley by far, and always knowing your wine recommendation by the bartender
will be grand to also knowing you cannot have anything bad from the amazing
kitchen!! Our service was impeccable and friendly and we had a delightful
evening, as always...My highest recommendation to anyone looking for a
really wonderful meal and experience!
Juniper is the best restaurant in the Vail Valley area. We always look forward to our visits back. The veal scallopini and the pork chop were outstanding. Start the meal with the butternut squash soup and finish with the sticky toffee pudding cake. You won't be disappointed.
Doug and John are always there to greet you and the table is ready at the time of your reservation. Food is delicious, presentation is eye appealing and the servers are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive! Wine menu is extensive and affordable. Atmosphere is fun, romantic and comfortable. One of our favorite restaurants in the Vail valley!
This was our first visit to Juniper and were tempted by the 1/2 price entree deal. We had a perfect dinner. It was very busy and we were asked to wait for our 8:30 reservation, but it wasn't too long and it wasn't a problem. Service was excellent. Our waiter was very amiable and knowledgable about the menu. Food was outstanding and with the 1/2 deal our bill was very reasonable for what we got. I had the Veal Scallopini which is their signature dish and no regrets. Delicious. Also recommend the toffee dessert.
