Great food, a little slow for an 8 top. Good service, but she was clearly busy. Great Mexican atmosphere.
The nachos were delicious! Margaritas and salsa, well they aren’t up to par. The salsa was flavorless, almost like tomato juice and the margarita wasn’t drinkable. The waitress was friendly and the managers were quite attentive.
Best part of the meal, fish tacos, bar none! The mango chutney and slaw was delicious and totally worth a trip back!!
Visiting from out of town. It isn’t the same Jose Muldoons from many years ago. It is probably a better night time option. Foo was just ok.
We were greeted upon entering and asked to wait until she sat the folks before us. Not a problem.
We sat outside at the back patio. You would not know we were in the city with buildings all around us. It was secluded and decorated like Mexico. There was a nice size fire pit in the middle for those cold days and nights.
Brittany came over got our drink order and asked if she could explain anything on the menu.
We both had a good margarita it didnt have that sticking sweet taste.
We did the combo platter. As we ordered Brittany asked if we were ok with the mean green chili. Not for the faint of heart.
Hubby had the tacos and tamale platter and I had the tamale and chili relleno. We both opted for the "Mean Green Chili" sauce. When they say hot trust me it is super spicy hot. BUT it was deliciously good.
The tamales were excellent!! They were not thick with masa and a little filling. The masa was a thin coating surrounding the pork. There was a good amount pork filling. The pork was tender and tasty.
The chili relleno...it's beer battered which is a good american take on the relleno. I think I like the beer batter better than the egg white covered. It was full of ooey gooey cheese and crunchy... YUM!!!!
The tacos were tacos hard to screw up a taco.
Overall nice experience and Brittany was very attentive and helpful.
Took a long for our drinks, an hour for our food and the menus were sticky and nasty looked like they have never been clean way . Food was way too salty.
I've been coming to this restaurant for decades, and it continues to do well. Thanks for the great meal.
Been a satisfied patron for 30 yrs. Recommended for fun casual dining. We enjoyed the Mexican cuisine (street tacos, burtitos, salads)
Very nice experience. Quiet and excellent food. Great Service.
This was the worst service we've ever had. Either the server was too busy or just didn't care. In addition, the staff was inappropriately dressed even for casual dining.
The waitperson forgot what we had ordered to begin with and then everything was very slow. It took a while to get chips and salsa and our drinks. It appeared she was working with a big party in the back and did not have time for us. Also, the salsa was bland. Would not recommend.
Great time with friends out on the patio in back. Wonderful evening. Great service. Great food.
The wait staff was friendly and I had the impression they wanted to take good care of us but the simplest of requests were denied. For example, we ordered a side of sour cream that they didn't bring until we'd finished our entrees and they said they couldn't take it off the bill. It was only $1.50 but it will keep me from coming back on principle. The wait staff made it sound like they would get in trouble for even asking.
not sure why I keep going back to this place every once in a while. it's like I forget how mediocre it reall us....
The food was very disappointing. It took a long time to get our food and some of it was cold. Service was fine.
Our server was a little slow on getting our drinks, etc ... but aside from that everything was good. We're planning return visits!!
we made a last minute decision to book dinner there. It was a quite night but the service was good and the food very good. They had a spicy green chili that was more to my liking but not killer hot. My guest enjoyed their meals and the Marg's were worth drinking another.
You would get better Mexican food at taco Bell. I mean that as an insult but it's true. I'm pretty sure the food is fresher at Taco Bell. The salsa is watery, the guac was good. The burritos we had were tasteless and the rice and veggies were outside of the burritos. Why?? It's basically an enchiladas the way they give it to you. The service was ok at best. We would never go back there. Save your money and spare yourself.
Took awhile to get someone to seat us, no one working the front for at least 5 minutes. Food ok, prices good. nachos were great. Margarita was weak.
Jose' Muldoons is a family "all time" favorite. We love spending time with friends and family here and enjoy the food. Margaritas are good too!
Always the best Tex-mex in Colorado Springs many vegetarian choices. Great Staff and the Back of the House is the BEST.
Good Mexican/American menu, reasonable prices and service, nice downtown location!
The wait staff are great. Wonderfully helpful and friendly. Food was delicious.
Food was very good and portion size is just right. Our waitress did a very nice job. We would definitely come back again.
The food was not very good and took forever to arrive!!! Service was slow and inattentive. With so many places to pick from we won't go back!!
Fabulous meal that never fails to please in all the years I've eaten there, 6 yrs ago, 8 yrs ago and when I lived in town... several times a month. It's always been my choice restaurant whenever I'm in Colorado Springs for myself and to impress my guests. The best food on the front range.
Relaxing dinner, great food and service. Lively music and obviously a hotspot for locals.
Great place to meet up after work - Great food, Great people
Went to Jose Maldoons after a 40 year hiatus. Still there and still the same great margaritas! Service a little slow but food good and atmosphere what we remembered
I visit Jose Muldoon's often. This visit was at the downtown location which I don't often do and there was a big difference in service here. Our waitress seemed rude throughout our meal. I say she seemed rude as opposed to saying that she was rude, because it was a general attitude and the way she spoke to us that could possibly be interpreted differently. I am not sure it was her intent. However, it did not make for pleasant interactions with her. Having said that, the food was really good as usual. We went for Sunday Brunch and I had the Colorado omelet and my wife had the cheese omelet. Both were really good.
The food was pretty good here, nice and Tex-Mex. Unfortunately, the server just couldn't keep up and also entered three of our orders incorrectly. One we had to send back. Drinks were only refilled after asking twice. The server did try to make up for the issues by giving us free dessert and was very apologetic which helped a lot. Good food but could use better table management like how many tables one server gets to increase the service.
Food was ok. Husband had a combo platter with no complaints. I chose a grilled chicken platter with seasonal grilled vegetables and lime rice. Chicken was tender and juicy and very flavorful but vegetables were very mushy. Chips and salsa very good as well. Server was attentive but seemed to have multiple jobs. We were there at a quiet time so hopefully she had more help as the evening progressed.
A great place to dine before attending an event in the downtown area.
restaurant was ok and service was great but the food took a while to come and then my order had hair in it. Again the server was great, but it killed the mood for me.
There are better alternatives on all counts.
The restaurant was as advertised. Casual but great food. The meals we had were wonderful made with fresh ingredients and of high quality. We really enjoyed our time at the restaurant. If you are looking for a casual restaurant with high quality TexMex entrees this is the place to go.
We were there forever...took over 45minutes for appetizer. Should have been offered free desert :( expensive & small portions. Rude delivery staff
We were very impressed! The service was a little slow, but when we got the food it was incredible!! I was really happy that we decided to go there!!
Restaurant was just too noisy for us to visit with friends. Younger folks there seemed to be a lot noisier than we are used to.
I used to be into the downtown scene. I even lived there for a number of years. I moved a little north to raise a family and get away from the hustle and bustle that I like. Now the kids are older and we have been making dining downtown more of a weekly affair. I remember happy hour at Jose's to be quite a treat. The food is okay, not much different than what I remember. Nothing against that. The value is what I expect for a downtown experience. I love sitting out on the patio. We sat at the front patio. It was great. It wouldn't have made a difference if we sat at the back patio. But I gotta tell you the house margarita was horrible. I don't remember those being that bad. We even ordered a second one just to make sure it was indeed that bad and it was. Next time I'll have a Coor's Light.
Always a crowd pleaser for Mexican food in the Colorado Springs area!
