Johnny's Italian Steakhouse - Olathe
Very nice atmosphere. Dimly lit. Not too many choices on the menu. Plenty of room between tables not crowded even when completely booked
All food was fantastic.
Erin our server did a great job she was very friendly. She also answered all our questions. The food was outstanding. Really looking forward to coming back.
Have been to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse before and this was a Valentines treat for my wife. Service was excellent. The noise level from the music play was loud. Adjusted after about 45 mins. I had chicken prosciutto pasta and found the chicken to be on dry side. My wife had chicken perm that was excellent.
Steak and salmon were both very flavorful, but undercooked. Center of salmon was so raw it couldn't be cut with a fork. Service was very good and timely. Ambiance was marginal at best, but we had table closest to hotel lobby. Tables closer to entrance appeared to have better atmosphere.
Waiter was very good. The food was great, both taste and portions were just right.
Was AWESOME !! Such delicious food. Awesome service!!
Food was average, but prices were high. Had a reservation , but had to wait when they weren’t that busy. They simply need to figure things out if they are going to be successful.
Extremely long wait for just about everything and very mediocre food for the price.
Food and service was great. Just felt the prices were a bit high.
Service was very slow. Fish was uninspiring, too much sauce on the snapper - more tomatoes than fish; out of prime rib - which 3 of us were going to order at 7p on a Saturday night. Chicken farm okay. Salad good. tables next to us out and kept taking photos all night with flash. Not excited about going back.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food and service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food and service was great!
Always great food/wine and service. A great quiet find.
Did great job. Service was top notch.
ask for Gabby! Great servixe
Another Restaurant Week stop. Incredible food from start to finish. Server Deanna was so friendly and encouraged our return. See pictures for what we ordered. Amazing value for what we received as well. Highly recommend.
To be honest, our entire experience was mediocre. We arrived promptly at 11am with 8 people. Our table was ready and our waitress got drinks and appetizer orders right away. We then felt like everything from then on was sub par. It took a long time to order, and what seemed like an eternity to receive our food. It must have been at least 1215 by the time we got it. We specifically came for steak and not a single one was cooked correctly. Most were significantly overcooked, such as light pink centers when medium rare was requested. It wasn't extremely busy but our server didn't clear plates well or check in often. Some appetizer plates remained on the table for the entire meal, even though we stacked them up. She did ok on drink refills. Luckily, the flavor was still great, even though it was overcooked. Once finished, again we waited a long time for the check, I had my card ready when she finally delivered it.
I will go back to give it another shot, but am hesitant to order steak, which should be the specialty. I'm hoping that due to being a larger party right at opening time that this was just a one off...
We had a great date night and enjoyed the restaurant week menu
Plate of pasta was quite small for $30+, appetizers were tiny and not that great. We went for restaurant week, so maybe it was just that menu? Pasta was good, just not a normal-sized serving.
We thought we'd try the place on restaurant week so we made reservations. We got there on time and were told that we'd have to sit in open seating in the bar where the bar tender would wait on us. At first we went in there and then my wife thought she would push the fact that we had reservations. 15 minutes later they moved us to a table in the restaurant. The waitress was not dynamic and just adequate,. It probably affected our perception of her that we had a fantastic experience the day before at Maggiano's in OP. Everthing was just OK.
Food was good but too salty for our taste. Nice selection.
SOLID Italian fare! Was very Happy. Willy treated us great glad we have another choice for Italian food! Will return!
We opted to sit at the bar to watch the Chiefs game, and while the bartender was very good, overall the meal was disappointing. Two of us had their steak offering, and we both found it to be tough. One had the Marilyn No. 5 chicken entree and she said it was great. I think the noise level in the restaurant itself would be very quiet, as it seemed there was virtually no one dining there. This could be attributed to the game, or the 6 plus inches of snow that had people not getting out to eat.
The very young hostess spent way too much time visiting with friends who were dining at a table near us. We shared an entree. They didn’t split it for us. Just brought us an extra plate. At this level of dining they should split it in the kitchen.
We came to celebrate the anniversary for several friends that all got married during the same week. The service was painfully slow. It appeared that our waitress was very new. We had to ask for water refills. She never bused the tables after we had the appetizers or main course. Then one of the bills was charged to the wrong credit card. We love the atmosphere and the food was good, service was clearly lacking.
Our waiter was great! Service was good. Food was ok but a little too expensive for what we got. The table next to us was so loud but that’s not the restaurants fault.
This was our first & last time trying Johnny's. For this price point, the food & service should have been far better. Our server didn't know menu items, was not professional, never asked us to cut into our steaks to see if they were prepared correctly. Also, steaks were way too salty and potatoes were cool. We ordered appetizers (combo & crab cakes). We were sent scallops instead of crab cakes. My sister's steak was too salty to eat, then under cooked, then over cooked. She didn't get her steak until we were done with the meal. No comp offered except a free dessert which we didn't want/need.
The food was not good, my boyfriend ordered his steak well done it came medium, he asked to take the pink out and it was burnt to a crisp, we took it home to the dog.
The food was great as usual (we have eaten there several times in the past); flavorful, and hot. However, the service was lacking. I am guessing that this was in part to it being New Year's Eve.
We love Johnny’s and I love chef Andy’s cavatapi. It was not quite as good as before but my wife loves their steaks
We arrived on a Saturday night. The food was fantastic. Everything arrived without being rushed or waiting. Our server was quite capable, and very through. We have absolutely found another top-notch go to place for our evenings out.
This is a great place for an intimate dinner. Not an extensive wine list, but the wines on it are good. Excellent food.
Very nice place to eat food was delicious and very sfforable
Heard great things about this restaurant. Very disappointed.
Service was great and steaks were awesome! Great ambience for a date night.
why bother....looks great on the internet, but not a true restaurant. Tiny, barely there, really a huge disappointed based upon the info on the internet. Too bad.
Family Christmas dinner
The restaurant overall was very nice. The seating was good and the hostess was very friendly and quick to seat us. The server was also very nice and courteous and knew the menu well. The bread was very fresh and inviting with the olive oil and parmesan cheese. The food however was very bland and expensive for what you get. We both found that the starter salads were not very fresh. My wife had lots of brown lettuce in hers. I had the fillet medallion trio but the portions were very small and the steak, although cooked perfectly, wasn't that great. The upgraded side of lobster Mac and cheese was also very bland with little to no flavor. My wife had the seafood pasta pomodoro. It too, was also very bland and had little to no flavor. My wife didn't even finish it. The drinks were pretty decent, but lacking in the craft beer department. I had a boulevard tank 7 bottle and later a Buffalo Trace bourbon. My wife had the raspberry martini. Pretty standard and the taste was okay. All in all, I am not sure I will be back.
Great dining area with low noise. We just needed to reach for the salt shaker more then normal. My Sea Bass and wives filet were both lacking flavor.
The food was excellent! The service, not so. The server seemed disinterested. Did not offer any appetizers or deserts, did not bus the dirty dishes, did not bring my Wife her coffee that she ordered. Overall the food was served hot and it was very good, as always. But the service was lacking, and it causes me to reconsider dining here again.
