Johnny's Bar on Fulton is one of Cleveland's best restaurants! It is never a disappointment!
We went for our anniversary, not a good choice. Very loud even though it wasnt crowded. Tables very close together, you could hear conversations. Service was not bad, food came quickly. Server or restaurant seemed set in their ways, things had to be ordered just so, for example food temperatures on steaks and lamb. Lamb and filet very good, however.
The place was way over crowded. I was excited about the tenderloin of beef with lobster in puff pastry. I ordered it medium rare came out well done and tough. Cheese cake was good. Very noisy.
We were a party of four! Loved the food the service and the ambiance! Our server Ricky made our night extra special! We will return!
Have been coming here for many years & the food, service an ambience is always excellent.
Fabulous food! Best veal I have ever eaten. Extensive menu and specials. Very pricey but worth the cost. Only downside was cold butter with warm bread. A very loud room made a romantic dinner difficult, though I would go back in a heartbeat.
Food was amazing! Neat little place for a nice dinner out.
Johnny's Bar is the best spot in town! Food is always incredible, great service, and not overpriced.
Great service as usual
The wine is outstanding per glass
The steak and fish remain some of the best Cleveland has to offer
Our dinner was perfect. Our server was fantastic. This restaurant and it’s ownership continues to maintain the level of excellence one would expect from fine Italian dining.
We celebrated birthdays and an anniversary. Everyone loved the food and Tony was great! Best restaurant in Cleveland!
Steak au poivre was fantastic! Potatoes are superb! Came for the steak and will always return for it.. or the lamb chops!
It was our first time at Johnny's . I was taking my wife out for Valentines day. Not sure what to expect as the area was an 'older' neighborhood. It was like walking into the past. The decor was Art Deco, with an old world feel. The meal and service were excellent. Much of what passed by also looked (and smelled) good. The tables are close as they are in many European restaurants .
Will be returning as there were a number of items on the menu that i wish to try. After 6 pm there is valet parking as street parking is very limited.
It is difficult to rate this experience when restaurant cronies are given more importance than the lovebirds who made reservation to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Impeccable service. Classic menu done to perfection. Strong wine list. Johnny's Bar is a sure thing every time.
Great food and service. Server was wonderful. Kinda pricey.
One of my all time Cleveland favorites! Unfortunately, on my recent visit this past Saturday night service was exceptionally slow? Not sure why, but, hey it happened. Will give it another try in the new future, just surprised that the Johnny's crew was running so far behind on a Saturday night? Veal Chop is second to none!
Great quality veal and the Italian feast had plenty of sumptous seafood. Bon Appetit!
The food and service were great. There are many tables in a small space. Not much room to maneuver around to get in and out of your seat.
Food was outstanding. Very attentive service. One of my favorite restaurants in cleveland
Food and service great as always.
Terrific food and service! It is always a fun filled evening at Johnny's Bar!
Kelly was our server and she was excellent!
Food was wonderful except for the walleye . It seemed a bit off. The service was phenomenal
We had dinner to meet some old friends who had never been to Johnny's. We were all very please and plan to return again.
Great food and service as always. Have visited the restaurant many times but the first time for my guests. They thoroughly enjoyed.
I love Johnny's Bar! Ambiance is great, food is delicious, drinks are generous. My go-to place for any special occasion.
Excellent find. Wonderful service, creative menu, and good value. I was also surprised to find live music. Very tasteful and entertaining but also did not overwhelm our business conversation.
Great food, great service, a real Cleveland gem.
The BEST restaurant in CLE
Consistent for Many years
Time and time again I am amazed with the consistency of Johnny’s bar, one of excellence and service. I drive an hour to get there and never regret it. From the moment we are greeted the time that we leave There’s a place I always look forward to being in the coming back to you.
We have been going here for our anniversary for 19 years. Never had a bad experience until this time! Started with a valet who watched us and didn’t come to the car until we exited it. Then the matrede didn’t greet us until we walked over to him after standing there a moment. Dinner bread was hard as a crouton. Waitress and food service was slow - 2.5 hours for our meal. Potatoes were par-cooked before being over cooked and served cold. Filet was ordered medium, but came out barely medium rare. Asked for coffee with Splenda. Waitress didn’t know which sweetener was Splenda, but said they had all usual sweetners (e.g. sugar, “blue, yellow and pink”). Brought the coffee without Splenda (aka “yellow”). When I asked again for Splenda, waitress said she would go look. I watched her walk away to the bar and do billing work before walking back to me. She then said she “checked everywhere” but couldn’t find any. Can’t for the life of me figure out why it was ALL so bad this year, but I will give it a 20th chance. If the next experience is this bad, I won’t go back. Instead, I will go to Johnny’s Downtown. I hope I don’t have to make the change because it has been such a good tradition for us. But, celebrating my anniversary well is more important than being loyal to a restaurant. Having said all this, I recommend trying Johnny’s Bar for a special occasion at least once.
Got to Johnny’s, it was closed up. Made a phone call got a hold of the manager said there was a power outage.
great food and service. unfortunately had a very loud table near us.
Great as always. We live in metro NY and Johnny's rivals any place on Arthur Ave.
A must when we are in Cleveland.
Great food and service.
We had a lovely time here celebrating a milestone BD for my husband. The service was impeccable ! Our only complaint would be that they ran out of all desserts but one. We did order it which they brought with a lit candle. I was glad that we were in the smaller room as it was a better place to talk over dinner.
Well-known in Cleveland, but our first visit. Even though holiday celebrations were going on, we were seated in a great quiet room, good for conversation. The food was wonderful and the service excellent.
Had a wonderful evening with my wife as we sat at the bar for dinner. Beau the owner was very nice and the server Bobby was attentive and made dinner recommendations . The stuffed peppers are to die for ( a bit Spicy) but excellent and we had the veal specials which were prepared perfectly and tasty. Can’t wait to get back.
Our Waitress Emma was outstanding, very pleasant and smiled all the time, but it took a while to get our first drink - however it was Saturday and quite busy. Love Johnny's but you just have to know the tables are very close together and as such it can be a little warm inside. Its a place that has stood the test of time, with so many other places opening and closing. The food was Excellent.
