The original Johnny's serving fine Northern Italian Cusine. Opening in the 1920’s as Louise’s Garden, a restaurant that would flourish into the most reputable dining establishment in Cleveland. Renamed Johnny’s Bar in 1952, this neighborhood eatery located on Fulton Road serves authentic Italian food in an inviting atmosphere with private dining and patio dining available weather permitting.
Absolutely outstanding—as always. Been going there for 34 years—best restaurant in the city in my opinion. No other restaurant has such unique and wonderful dishes.
Awesome! Food was tremendous.
Food and service excellent as always. Rib eye perfectly grilled. Service is relaxed and friendly but accurate and on time. Noise level is high, people enjoying themselves but conversation sometimes difficult. Overall a great experience, as it has always been for the 30+ years I’ve been coming. Use the valet or he’ll want to know why ;)
Great food, somewhat overwhelmed waiter. Very loud; I didn’t know we could ask to be seated in a secondary dining room or outside patio, either of which would’ve been quieter.
Always a great meal and service. Cant wait to return.
I had the Veal Stuffed Banana Peppers with Asiago and Marinara. Little to hot for my taste but was very good. My wife split the Peppercorn Crusted Duck Breast appetizer with our friend. I tasted it and it was delicious. For mains, I can remember three out of the four. They were all excellent. Italian Feast, Veal Parmesan, and the fish special. Charming room, great service, and food will keep us coming back.
We had such an amazing meal and the service from the bartender was great. We'll be back again soon!
Entrees were excellent-pounded breaded veal chop and potato crusted grouper. Our server was very friendly and thoughtful. Ambiance is lacking unless it's warm enough to eat outside in the garden. Tables are very close together and can get noisy when it starts to fill up. Still a Cleveland classic!
Great Cleveland institution!
Food was very good and our service was very good! Free dessert was a nice touch
yes, but ask to be seated in the side room which is not so noisy. Food is outstanding, especially the veal.
One of the best restaurants in Cleveland, now and always. Be ready to spend some money, however.
Duck, filet, walleye, salmon-excellent
Always enjoy ourselves at Johnny’s
As usual, the food was outstanding and the service was exceptional! Johnny’s Fulton is always a wonderful dining experience
Simply put, the best restaurant in Cleveland for my money. Friendly staff, wonderful food, awesome wine list ... all at very reasonable prices. Try the pan fried grouper. Trust me.
This was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The menu was a brunch three course meal which was an excellent value. The food was excellent. Both me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. It was a wonderful Easter Sunday because of our visit to Johnny's Bar. It was my first time there and I did not know what to expect. But I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a neighborhood experience coupled with an exquisite meal. One thing , I thought the specialty drinks were on the high side. But they were good.
This place is simply the best. As soon as you walk in they welcome you to the restaurant. The people who work here make you feel very welcomed. The food is outstanding as is the sebest vice. Every time I'm in Cleveland I come to Johnny's and will continue to do so.
The special, a veal chop long bone, was outstanding.
A Cleveland classic! Always fabulous
No special treatment for birthday.
One Cleveland's finest. Everytime we are in town, we visit Johnny's, and each visit is a wonderful experience. The space is tight but the food, the service, the ambiance, is like nothing else in the area.
Another fabulous evening Food was superb, service excellent. Can’t wait for the patio to open !!
The food is good, the staff is friendly. The menu is on the high side ($121 not including tip and no alcohol)
Always a treat to visit Johnny’s. Wonderful people, wonderful food
Service was perfect. We were seated right away and offered drinks. Once the drinks arrived our server described the specials and allowed us time to relax and enjoy our drinks. She was attentive while not rushing. Food was absolutely amazing.
Fun time, good food, great service... hard to hear though
The food was truly amazing. I ordered the grouper and my boyfriend ordered the veal. However, when making the reservation, I was asked about a special occasion. It was my boyfriend’s birthday, so I picked "birthday." When we arrived for our reservation, I thought someone would acknowledge his birthday, but they never did. I said something to the waiter (twice). I was very disappointed that his birthday was not acknowledged and that if I wanted them to bring out a dessert, I would have to pay for it. Why ask about a special occasion if the restaurant was not going to acknowledge it. From a consumer standpoint, I would have rather gone somewhere else that would have made the night a little more special. For example, Luca gives you dessert and takes a picture you can take home. As a suggestion to make a lasting impression on customers, they should have done a little more. I will not be going back for a celebration
We wanted to introduce our adult children to this iconic CLEVELAND restaurant. As always, the ambiance is special, the service outstanding and the food is incredible!
The service is always great!
We had not been in a while- always liked the atmosphere- server was very friendly and good. My gnocchi and shrimp was great but my wife was very disappointed by the veal special, sauce was bland and veal a little tough. Noise level a little high and my chair was tight to one at next table.
Emma, our server is outstanding !! Food Fabulous !! Great experience as always !!
The restaurant was jammed as usual. Our waitress was great, but I was a little disappointed with my selection. I had order one of the specials that night - the Veal Medallions. The medallions were so small, and surprisingly rather tough. No part of my meal was really hot when I was served. We have been to Johnny's many times, for many years and never was ever disappointed prior to this experience. I do feel the veal medallions should have been a little large for the cost, and much more tender.
This was a fluke as far as I am concerns
BEST. FOOD. IN. CLEVELAND. You will not find a better long bone veal chop anywhere. Filet Au piovre was also amazing.
Wonderful as always. Johnny's consistently outdoes itself. Can't wait to get back
A classic with GREAT food. The duck breast appetizer is good enough to be a meal all by itself! They may not be avant garde, but everything is well prepared, the wine list is comprehensive and not overpriced, and it's a place to come and really enjoy seriously good food. We've been fans for almost 30 years and I hope that never changes!
Food was over the top for all 7 of us. Service was amazing.
Interesting that you are asking us for a review when the restaurant had no record of our reservation. If they had been full we would have been out a seat. This was also supposed to be a birthday dinner, never recognized despite reservation statement and speaking to people at restaurant. Disgusted.
Had a great business meeting, and the food is excellent.
As always, delicious food, nice cocktails and very nice wine. Yummy dessert. Very good server. Nothing ever to complain about.
Fabulous as always! Johnny's on Fulton is an institution in Cleveland and is now a value play for high end restaurants. With salad and sides included with their entrees, the prices are well below other go to establishments in the city
