The original Johnny's serving fine Northern Italian Cusine. Opening in the 1920’s as Louise’s Garden, a restaurant that would flourish into the most reputable dining establishment in Cleveland. Renamed Johnny’s Bar in 1952, this neighborhood eatery located on Fulton Road serves authentic Italian food in an inviting atmosphere with private dining and patio dining available weather permitting.
Steak au poivre is fantastic! Bread has improved. Caesar salad not worth the upgrade -seems premade and sitting around. Potatoes are stellar. Service is good, but not easy to understand some waiters. I. One back on my money for the steak!
We had a party of 5 for my husband’s birthday celebration. Excellent service, food was outstanding and overall awesome experience.
The the Italian Feast meal at Johnny's was absolutely delicious!
Wonderful evening. Staff is very friendly and Emma our server I was excellent!! Friendly and knowledgeable. Looking forward to another visit soon !!
Best restaurant in town
Always a pleasure!
Great food great environment
We had veal medallions special and grouper, both were very good.
Outstanding! Loud, bustling, hard working, & most of all... INCREDIBLE food!!! 4 of us had apps,
entrees, salads, & desserts mixed with some great wine, booze & coffee, so feel confident that we sampled a great deal & were all fully satisfied with every bit of it. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, & efficient which is everything you could ask for. Shame on all of us for not remembering her name, but she looks like Marissa Tomei & is fantastic! Can’t wait to go back.
Celebrated one of "those" birthdays with friends. Great service, table, and food. It is pricey, but as they say, you get what you paid for and very nice when you don't have to pick up the bill!
Our table was right above the bar; Ricky was our waiter; very nice and very good. Been there 33 years! He recommended the veal and it did not disappoint. Loved their poppy seed dressing; very light...want that recipe!
Thank you Johnny's Bar; I hope I don't wait until another one of "those" birthdays to return to your fine restaurant.
Always a great experience. Great food, great service
Was disappointed when told they didn’t have the veal Rossini but true to form, Johnny’s delivered a spectacular meal with a tea smoked duck breast over pasta
It was so noisy we had to yell at one another to be heard. I spilled my wine and when the waiter replaced it they charged me for the second glass. The food was okay but basically meat and potatoes, uninspired and very expensive for what it was. Definitely would not go back.
Great food as usual. Busy and louder than usual. Great wait staff
Our reservation was at 5:45 p.m. on a Saturday, and when we arrived there were a few people at the bar and only one other table seated with two people. We ordered drinks, wine, appetizers and our meal. Overall I would have to say we had a great experience, our waitress was young, very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The downside was the place filled up fast and the noise level went up along with all the people, and Johnny's is small, once the tables are filled it's hard for staff to maneuver around them, unfortunately for one person in our group she was constantly asked to scoot in, it was very annoying, especially because they never asked the gentleman behind her to move even once. They probably should have offered her a cocktail on the house or a small break on her bill for the many times she was asked to scoot. It had been years since we had been down to Johnny's and although the food was great, absolutely no complaints in regards to our meals, we most likely won't go back for an evening meal, maybe on a weeknight or lunch. One thing that was nice was they must have just hung their pine wreaths and decorations as we were greeted with the aroma of fresh pine when we walked in which was very pleasant and their seasonal decorations were very pretty.
While I always enjoy the dining experience at a classic like Johnny’s, the experience Friday night was discouraging for my date and I. There was a large, loud, and very rude party in the dining area we were seated. Spoke to the server who then comped us our second beverage. Service was great. What was disheartening for us was the attitude the host gave us when leaving. I voiced my displeasure about the loud rude party and had hoped the host to ask them to tone it down out of respect for fellow guests. To our dismay, the host sided with the loud and rude party and said they were doing nothing wrong. Not sure when we will return.
Excellent food, well prepared and delicious. Menu to please wide variety of tastes -- meat, fish, pasta
Great place! Everyone there is so friendly. Food was amazing! We will absolutely be back!
Always consistent and always great food and service! Still one of the best restaurants in Cleveland!
Too crowded. Insufficient space for servers.
Food was delicious, drinks were perfect. Service outstanding. All I ever ask for haha.
This visit only reminded me that I should go there more often. Crazy, brilliant, yet traditional menu, impeccably prepared. Bo’s ship still sails the highest seas on top of the waves!
I r ecently traveled back to Cleveland for the holidays and of course my first stop is Johnny's on fulton. I asked a friend to join me where we were of course greeted by the owner Beau who always makes you feel special and closely watches the operation of the restaurant. We then went to our table where our server Ricky did a fantastic job of going over the specials and introducing new wines on the list. The service was spot on and the dinner was again fantastic.. We had a great evening as Johnny's is by far my favorite restaurant in Cleveland
The food and service was excellent! This restaurant is tucked away in an older neighborhood, but is a hidden gem.
Johnny's on Fulton is always outstanding!
Outstanding food. Great atmosphere. Best in Cleveland
Retired, but did business in CLE 15 years ago. Returned with business partner
and wives to the Fulton restaurant; as great as ever. Food and service was
spectacular. Will return for the R and R Hall of Fame and JOHNNY'S.
Johnny’s on Fulton is my favorite restaurant anywhere in the World. The Peppercorn filet is remarkable. Perfect medium - perfectly pink all the way through. Literally every time I get it, it is perfect. Don’t forget the stuffed banana peppers for an appetizer. Oh my gosh! Get two. Because they are that good! And don’t share! Ambiance is awesome. My favorite. Probably it will be yours, too.
Without a doubt this is the hidden gem of cleveland. Absolutely fantastic meal.
Linda service was outstanding as always
Food is always delicious and plenty full
Mark the chef special appetizer was tremendous
4th best dinner in life. 1 a chefs table on Carnival, 2 a Elk dinner in Quebec City, 3 o rabbit dinner in the Left Bank of Paris, 4th Johnny’s.
My last visit was to the outdoor patio a year ago. This time we were seated in an interior room tha was a bit too crowded and far too loud for my liking. Nevertheless it was a pleasant evening and the food, as always, was very good. I will come back.
Overall we had a great experience, wonderful specials and a fabulous server. We will definitely be back!
Great food and service provided by Bo the owner and Emma the server, highly recommended! I had the broiled veal chop.
Great place for a special night
Outstanding in every aspect. Thanks for a wonderful meal
We were very satisfied with the meal. The salad was simple and delicious — mixed greens with a perfectly balanced balsamic vinaigrette. The veal medallions were properly done and served with a delicious sauce, and the accompanying potatoes and haricots verts were excellent. The one down note was the desserts, which were, unfortunately, mediocre and overpriced (over $20 each). Were it not for the desserts, the evening would have been perfect. Johnny's is by far the best place in northeast Ohio for veal.
Absolutely phenomenal. Dinner and service was outstanding. I highly recommend Johnnys as the premier dinning experience.
Food is excellent as usual. Especially the veal dishes. Menu was pared down about a year ago and people continue to ask for items from the old menu. Dining room is noisy. On a weekend the entire order has to be placed at the same time including appetizers. Because of this, there is a delay getting appetizers, salads and entrees in a timely manner. The redeeming factor is the quality of the food. Duck breast appetizer and mozzarella are excellent as are all the entrees especially the veal. Probably a better experience during the week when it’s less crowded. I will definitely return for the food!
The food is always great and the service is exceptional!
