Chef/restaurateur John Howie's definitive NW steak house, serving custom-aged USDA Prime steaks, American Wagyu Beef, Australian Waygu beef, Japanese "A5" 100% Wagyu beef, fresh seasonal Pacific fish and seafoods, wild foraged mushrooms, and locally sourced fruits and vegetables. John Howie Steak features two wood fired grills, mesquite charcoal and applewood that add subtle flavors to the foods. The wine list features a "Best of Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator. Enjoy classic and seasonal specialty cocktails, or the world’s finest single-malt scotch, bourbons and fine cognacs in the lounge. Two beautifully appointed private dining rooms are available for meetings or special occasions. A 20% service charge is included on each check. John Howie Steak retains 100% of the service charge.     Overall the experience was great. There were a few minor items but none that impacted the experience. Our server was top notch and a pleasure interacting with. The drinks were splendid and the desserts were great. It’s lovely coming in and being treated so kindly and warmly.

    Our experience started out good and it went from good to bad in a hurry we got to our reservation on time and the first two courses came out in normal time and we waited over an hour for our entrée to come and we left the restaurant at 8:45 without even an opportunity to have dessert the service was very poor and slow, and no one absolutely seemed to care It’s very expensive of restaurant for what we got and we will never return.

    We had the pleasure of dining at John Jowie Steak for my partner's birthday, and it was a memorable experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The service was efficient, attentive, and thoughtful throughout the evening, striking just the right balance between professionalism and warmth. One of the standout features of this restaurant is the ambiance. The layout is comfortable, and the view from the dining area adds something special—it creates a sense of calm and makes the meal feel like more than just dinner. Whether you're catching up with friends, having a date night, or celebrating something special, the atmosphere really sets the tone. We started with a few appetizers, and the bone marrow in particular deserves a mention. It was rich, silky, and served with just the right accompaniments to bring out its flavor without overwhelming it. It set the tone for the rest of the meal and showed right away that the kitchen knows how to work with high-quality ingredients. As for the main course, the steak was cooked exactly to order—tender, flavorful, and expertly seasoned. Each bite had that satisfying depth that’s hard to find even in some high-end steakhouses. The side dishes rounded out the meal well and were equally well-prepared. Overall, John Jowie Steak delivered on all fronts: great service, a beautiful setting, and food that lived up to expectations. It’s a place I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for a thoughtful, well-executed dining experience.

    Ryan was an amazing and attentive waiter. There when you needed him and providing you with space and time to enjoy your meal. The service staff was attentive and we never went without water or anything we needed. Sommelier was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. As always, the food was phenomenal. The new addition of the cauliflower steak was outstanding for my husband who is a vegetarian.

    We went for a birthday celebration - the steaks were fantastic - our server, Rueben, was great, and the birthday treat - yummy. Thanks to all the staff for great evening.

    Absolutely first class experience. The greeters at the front, the escort, the service staff and wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Truly a wonderful experience in every way. Food was DELISH!
